Tuesday Pleasures
1. Glorious sunset, soft pinks and deep greys.
2. A full freezer after a mornings bulk cooking.
3. Made a chicken and leek put with a wartime 'potato pastry' top. Will definitely be making this again.
4. Kitchen music playing as I cooked. Albion Bands 'Lark Rise' and Jethro Tulls 'Heavy Horses'.
5. More poetry. Simon Armitage. A new favourite.:)0 -
Dark o'clock already.
Work. Okay .
Met DD2 for brekkie. She kindly paid.
Home and blogged. It's 5 years today that my husband was diagnosed with cancer. It's 5 weeks today since he died. It's been a bit of a sobby day.
Had a snooze on the office sofa with Haggis . Had been awake since 3.30am, had heard an odd noise outside ( not usual possum noises had to get up and have a look and see, so couldn't get back to sleep)
Went for lunch with DD1. Used my winning voucher. I had a quiche and salad. Not having dinner tonight.
Bought lovely sunflowers at florists.
Have a good day0 -
You have better sit down now and read this …
5 Tad disappointed that my union of western request for wobbleade chits has not been acted on. At the moment, BoPsie is unable to fill the bath with bubbles and get her legs into shape, and you think you have it hard! Please think of others who are in need as well. Yes, BoP will liquidate one or two for wobbleades, but fair is fair.
4 Still blocked at BoP Palace, and a good job, you do not want to see the mess. BoPsie, with dusters full of dirt, is fretting. See above. Her nice kept house is in bits. And we are talking big mess at the moment. I doubt her dusters will cope. Again, please donate so she can have some new dusters. There see, it is not just me and wobbleade chits that are required. Me me me me me!
3 Will look pretty good when it is finished though! So there! BoP is unable to load up phots for you to look at due to continued blockage by MSE softies and their algorithm.
2 Morrow is last day at the mill until Wednesday next week. Got it! BoP holiday tour. By Monday BoP will have completed the Steels Corner House challenge. More later. Please send those chits to support this tour.
Again, the same UN, DEC, UK Aid. Inaction again! They stay in business because they make the poor poorer.0 -
1) Another lovely sunny day!
2) Lilacs on the verge of opening their flower buds, I love the perfume it's evocative of this time of year.
3) Brown crispy beech leaves blowing off the beech hedges and skittering noisily across the ground, sounding like crunching crisps.
4) Bluebells now well in flower on the front lawn and the 'Harry Baker' crab apple is covered in magenta pink blossom buds almost, not quite, opening their eyes in the sun.
5) My doggie walking friend Sue mum to Charlie retriever has a buyer for her house as of this morning, bittersweet for me as I am so very pleased she's sold this quickly but I know I'll miss her an awful lot!0 -
MHags thinking of you x
Frith - have you considered contacting MIND for advice & support. Maybe they can point you in the direction of any financial support too.

Mhags, we are all with you. You have been so strong but take care of yourself. Early days yet.0 -
A weird few days, hence the radio silence. As of next Thurs my work is gone. It was out of the blue, apparently, something about internal people that can’t be made redundant, I am so wonderful… but… the outcome is still the same! I wouldn’t change it. It has done wonders for my confidence.
Pleasures.
Serious animal cuddles.
The amount of work cakes I have said no to is silly, it’s getting easy now.
2 more plant pots planted.
Various washing bits hung out.
Popped out to lidl as we ran out of milk and bread.0 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday).
1) Smaller son had a better day at school.
2) Bigger son went in at 11 and was OK-ish and did stay for extra Resistant Materials.
3) I went for a walk very locally and found a few geocaches.
4) Made kebabs for tea (just pork cubes with pineapple, peppers, mushroom and tomatoes) with salad.
5) Sons are at role playing evening with my brother and brother in law.0
