5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1 I squealed for joy after deciding I must get on the scales and frightened the ferrets, that’s nearly 2 stone gone now, I have a stone and a half left to go which doesn’t sound as daunting as the 3 and a half did before. Our diets are more a way of life now and a complete overhaul. It has worked by allowing us a bit of what we like rather than no you can’t have anything. And we are supporting each other both very determined.
2 While DH cleaned ferrets, I jet washed the pathway beside of the house and the patio.
3 Struggling a bit with 5 today as in a lot of kidney pain, so including the food planning, tonight it is hm bread crumbed cod with new pots and peas, for lunch and snacks there is a hm turkey burger or celery and carrot sticks.
4 Very slowly re planted 3 big pots, with bulbs gathered from around, the neighbours were having a rather lively argument outside which made it awkward to just carry on gardening, because their garden fence has now fallen completely it is rather obvious if we or they are outside. I kind of waited until the shouting stopped.
5 A few loads of washing done, but I had to use the drier to get the animal fur off.0 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in!
2) Listened to some of the Archers whilst eating porridge, blueberries and banana.
3) Spent about 3 hours on the allotment talking to the hens and sunbathing. Gave the allotment owner some rhubarb.
4) More tidying - did all floors, fresh sheets on the bunk beds, cleaned sons' school shoes despite realising that bigger son's shoes are twice as long as my hands!
5) Played football with smaller son. It was one of those rare times when you could see the mountains behind Lord Hereford's "particulars". (No way the English for Twmpa is getting past the censor!) Rhos Dirion, I think.
6) Got him to finish his science homework.
7) Smaller son then got a headache so I read him the first few chapters of a story in bed.
8) Bigger son in a better mood this evening.0 -
1) Shakespeare mooc from university of Warwick with futurelearn week 2. Totally free so very mse
2) after church came home for lunch. Made 2 bowls of tuna and pasta salad, one now eaten, one in fridge for tomorrow's lunch
3) lovely walk with 3 dogs in park, leaving mr piano to practise Chopin
4) friend called off pre theatre dinner. I was already in town so phoned dd1 and was lovely to catch up
5) then la boheme with friend. Line of duty will have to wait. I cried.

Tim was erased!
5 Did tatties and mince last day for tea. As BoPsie not inn to dumplings and now BoP, who wears the apron, has new scales, managed to perfectly fluff one up. Was served with minted new tates, cauliflower and carrot swede mash. Please be aware, emporiums do sell purified carrot and mash for an extortionate amount. Purified foods are for deggers. Those who have lost their teeth. BoP foods are something you can get your teeth into.
4 BoPsie, who has a birthday every year, unlike BoP who stopped at 19, is getting anxious about her big one. So is BoP as he has got no card as of yet. Will try and sore it this week!
3 BoPsie quipped this morning that the Imps are on again this evening. Mother BoP, who left sincil bank once and missed out on the Mariners winning because old man BoP was insistent on catching the train back to Alford, meant she had to leave early. She never forgave him. If she could word in BoPsie’s ear, they would be unrepeatable here. I will be unavailable for the event!
2 Day is only forty days till the big apple!

Some pleasures for the weekend,
Saturday,
Early morning walk with the dogs and home by 8am, felt like a lovely long day with a lot fitted in.
Hollow-legged ones for lunch, house and home eaten out of and then dashed off to play football,
Watched and very much enjoyed Chocolat again, might have indulged in a little seasalt GB of my own...
And for Sunday,
Caught up on all things Archers.
Made more space outside back door for herbs so need to decide what new to grow.
Paprika pork and celeriac mash for lunch.
Lots of sunshine so Vit D topped up0 -
Pleasures for the weekend
1. MiL was mostly behaved - there were a few maudlin moments but i generally just moved the conversation on
2. The two Dyfi osprey's came home. Glesni arrived on Saturday morning, Monty in the afternoon - landed on the nest, on top of Glesni, gave her a 'seeing to' then flew off :rotfl:
3. We went to see "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story" at the theatre. Man, it was good - and feel good.
4. Sat in our seats and i heard "VJsmum, VJsmum" from behind. There was a former colleague, with whom i had shared an office for about 10 years. Was good to catch up
5. Took MiL, DS and DD out for dinner to the local pub (about 50 yards away). Was decent, cheap and better than cooking
6. Did the garden yesterday and had a BBQ. It's good to be outside.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Pleasures for the weekend
3. We went to see "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story" at the theatre. Man, it was good - and feel good.
That looks good- at first I thought it was the Buddy Holly show I saw a year ago, with a new cast. It isn't though, it's a different one- looked online. I enjoyed the one I saw.
Quick pleasures:
1. Bike chain cleaner was not a white elephant as I feared, but did the job beautifully. I now have a clean, free running chain.
2. Lovely bread made - it tasted so good. About to try a pizza style version of onion tart with bread dough.
3. Carnations continue to give me such pleasure.
4. Having a well stocked larder and freezer, I have been able to cut down on shopping trips which has made balancing my budget easier. Baking a loaf gave so much more pleasure than buying one!
5. Your pleasures, thank you.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Some lovely pleasures here, I appreciate the inspiration and positivity you all bring to life
1. Gorgeous weekend weather. I got myself squeezed into my unforgiving motorbike gear and we had a lovely road trip over hills and along the coast.
2. Buds, trees and spring flowers all around. The many cherry trees around here are blooming too. I'm finding the err "romantic" birds amusing. Seen lots of lambs in the fields, so cute.
3. Being able to eat amazing, fresh local food and say no but not offend anyone tempting me with sugary treats. Losing a few pounds also cheers me.
4. Saving up to treat myself. I love clothes and new season trends and colours...but only if they suit. I'd had my eye on a few pieces for spring /summer and had enough to order them. Delivered today I'm chuffed. However, the yellow handbag may be a return unless I decide I can work it with confidence :rotfl: it is lovely mind. These things need confidence to pull them off.
5. A day doesn't go by without my cats giving me pleasure. So they need a mention for being amazing, loving pets. They both love a wildlife programme on TV, even if it is the dog whisperer, so funny
Wishing you all the best and blessings x0 -
It's very early Tuesday morning , my body clock is absolutely not in sync with the clock change !
Monday started early ...back to work ! It was okay and I think okay will be just fine for now! See how today goes!
Nice doggy walk. Just heading home when this wee Jack russel ran over, ducked under the tiny space under the fence and literally started running rings under Haggis! I don't think he had a clue what was going on!then it zoomed off !
Ate a lovely apple . It tasted of Halloween! Maybe it just tasted of autumn but it was lovely and the taste memory just took me back to Hallooweeen when we always got apples!
Went to solicitor to talk about ghastly bank experience. He is adamant I am in the right & do not need probate. I phoned another branch of bank and have an appointment today with a very nice sounding lady who agrees I dont! I have 2 sizeable cheques that need cashed so they can support me for the rest of this year!! It's been so horrid . See what today brings.
Another dog walk and posted off another letter to UK informing of OHs death. Such a strange world to be in now when I have to write that.
I had left over potato from Sunday's dinner. I had a piece of corned beef in fridge so I had corned beef hash! Tadah! Determinedly not wasting anything' I can't afford to.
Very early in bed...it was either bed or sofa!
Okay , shall recline until alarm goes off!0 -
Horrid for you mhags hope all sorts soon
1) last face to face session with students. Gosh the term has whizzed by
2) tuna pasta salad for lunch
3) as I finished the day in the medical school I decided I would take the 'short'cut through the hospital. Got lost. Oops. Managed to find my way eventually - followed some chap who clearly knew where he was going
4) supper at mum's with dd1. Very tasty veggie rice dish.
5) and now in bed with Justin and Peggy. Broadchurch will have to waitMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
