DH came back from the Dept of Motor Vehicles throughly mad and frustrated. The thing is, he is not in emotional overload as you are Mhags and he was barely coping. I'm relieved you found someone to help you through the ridiculous bank maze. What an imbecile to not know the difference between a will and probate. Silently yelling at stupid woman!

Firth, I'm happy eldest had enough in reserve to go back and work on his project. That's a good sign.

    Waves hi to &.:hello:

Why, thank'ee kindly, msm, at near 5 bells, throat swollen, choking breath, gummed up.
    Bit scary.
....as must be 7-0? round ball result against our very own Dundee Doll. Even & knows this is big no's..

    1. Awake, so might as well use mob. for this. Not an O sp, but a New sp. Sensible to this after Bishop mtg/meal share last night. What a lovely and remarkable man! Prob. a stupid comment by &, but heartfelt. Pic. taken. SCIENCE and EDUCATION embodied in his key prayer. We saw pics of girls able to do a practical exam for 1st time, thanks to equipment our fundraising helped with. It started with 12 bicycles only 10 years ago. All of these girls want to be doctors, engineers, teachers.

    2. Put out twice bleachy-blanchy superhot laundry in pitch black after rtn last night. Quick peep just now suggests dry all night, so may be okay. Various bits of big white vintage linen found in France, along with...wait for it... 4 fantastic feather eiderdowns, abandoned down at Magic World, Hyères, a fortnight ago. As already written, little new2& Meriva drove stuffed to gills in both directions :-)

    3. Right now: R4 shipping forecast and dawn chorus, 2 of Life's immeasurable pleasures.

    4. Debadgered, hooray!

    5. Sudden thoughts of porridge. Might it help? On verra.

    # Wondering how I'll load/transport/unload/maneouvre chaise longue, sort garden room in time toute seule. Will manage sans doute. Nil further heard from enzed friends and meteo messy and mixed.

    Newbie welcomes to dreamtruce - that's some i.d. :-)))

    1. The dawn chorus was especially beautiful this morning, especially the blackbirds trills.
    2. A new page on the calendar, and a brand new month ahead.
    3. Friends calling for a cup of tea and a chat. When we had sorted out all of the worlds problems we drank more tea and laughed at ourselves :)
    4. My d-in-law liked the fairisle jumper I knitted her for her birthday so it was worth all of the blood, sweat and tears. Son says she has worn it many times and I am so glad she is so pleased.
    5. I have put up a led light I found in the shed in my pantry (cupboard under the stairs) After 43 years I no longer have to use a torch to find things at the back. Although I'm obviously in the slow learners group when it comes to practical things. Sigh. . .
  • 1) A really good haul of things from the Sea Scouts jumble sale this morning including an early learning centre airport and all its accessories for £5.

    2) A front border full of 'forget-me-nots' they are such a lovely b;lue.

    3) Tiny new leaves on the lime trees in the village centre, the flowers and their perfume take me back to Gothenburg in the summer heat.

    4) A dry walk with Cookie and sunshine all the way.

    5) We have invested in the BT Sport channel and thus have wall to wall rugby to enjoy this weekend.

have just caught up on all your posts having dashed out to save washing. the rain lasted just long enough for me to get washing in. oh well, it's now all on the inside drier. for yesterday which was the end of the month end of an era as we said goodbye to our 2 most senior administrators. we live in 'interesting times'.
    1) mr piano dropped me at bus stop at the back of the hospital. It's a lovely walk from there through the arboretum and past the community garden https://www.facebook.com/ninewellsgarden/
    2) eating my way through leftovers from hosting book club last week - white Wensleydale with ginger bits in for lunch. yum
    3) gorgeous day, finally got to enjoy a bit at 5:30 with senior colleague. we caught the bus (him on his free bus pass) down to
    4) leaving do for senior admin bods. had a very tasty Marrakech beef
    5) walking home met mr piano and mr town planning student who were headed to the pub. joined them which meant a very late night oops and a long oversleep then a long phone convo with xoh, which meant i missed signing up for a masters in penguin studies. Shame, was looking forward to looking after my own personal penguin...

DD I had to look up white Wensleydale. I thought it was more wine in teapot time again. :rotfl:

  • It's a smashing cheese MILA, the plain white wensleydale is what is served at Christmas with rich fruit cake and there are many variants of flavour you can get the cheese with chopped apricots, chopped cranberries (Mmmm), Christmas pudding flavourings i.e mixed dried fruit and spices (like your apple pie spice), you can also get it with garlic and chives, or pickled onion, or branston pickle (like chutney but quintessentially British flavour), you can even get it with pineapple through it small pieces of crystallised fruit chopped and mixed in. It makes a very good base for lots of different styles of cheese.

Frith - its a shame your work colleagues waited until the day you leave to show some support !

MHags sorry to hear you have had a run in with the horrible bank lady again, hope she get her comeuppance !

    Recent pleasures
    1. moves at work mean I will not be sitting near the horrible woman who constantly questions my disabilities and need for workplace adjustments

    2. welsh goats cheese from aldi with garlic and herb. Just as lovely and creamy as last weeks with honey and ginger

    3. day out to ikea with friends lovely chat and laughter plus nice lunch in ikea - rib of beef with bbq sauce, chips & sweetcorn £6.95 saves me cooking tonight.

    4. windows open now I'm home, nice to have some fresh air blowing through. Its turned into a lovely sunny afternoon after a few heavy showers this morning

    5. have lost 2lb this month which I am quite pleased about as I'm not dieting as such just trying to cut down a bit and exercise more.

1 Someone’s watching out for us, I found a gem of a site, a very stunning and small hideaway place, and a wonderful owner who has had a cancellation and has space for 1 more at the inn so to speak. Hook up the COL we will be off for the Easter weekend.:T

2 I was a bit dubious about booking us to go out for the day, but DH wants to continue. So we went off to a little local Heritage show for a change of scenery. I pre-booked the tickets online last night, saving money and saved on a rather massive queue, a rather smug feeling. We took 2 fuzzies and chatted with a lot of people, mostly lovely, and just ambled about. We purchased a couple of model cars for bargainous prices and had food and drink in my back pack.:)

3 Nice to be home, everything has been cooked from scratch the last little while to control the diet and it’s going well. Tonight, will be HM burgers with a big potato salad, with a dessert of strawberries.:D Our food

4 Caught the end of a cheesey 1978 superman movie, soo bad it’s good.

5 Ordered some sugar free sula sweeties off Am@zon.

6 A tiny Jack Daniels honey and I am feeling chilled.:o

7 Pre-booked tickets online to a show we will see later in the year when we are away.:j

It's Sunday morning, our clocks have changed so I feel like I'm up even earlier than normal!

    Saturday was spent rather quietly.
    Nice dog walk.
    Made lentil soup for lunch.
Had a snooze..I was so cold, I lay on bed and then woke up!
Had a nice chili and rice for tea. Friends had dropped off stuff for our freezer the other day. It was delicious.
