    Evening all :)

Belated 'hooray' for Haggis. Is there a picture of Haggis anywhere?:)

    Five pleasures for recently:

    1. More than five hours yesterday evening talking with/listening to DS2 who had an awful lot of stuff to discuss. Not too happy about some of what he was saying but very happy indeed that he felt able to share his thinking and that we did so while eating supper, having hot drinks and sitting by a blazing fire - very cosy.

    2. On which note... had another cubic metre of wood delivered because we'd run out. Next year I will time my wood deliveries better (I said that last year:D ).

    3. Windy weather brought down loads of little sticks - all safely gathered and broken up ready to be kindling.

    4. Took my Royal Mail survey vouchers shopping and stocked up on lots of basic toiletries for the store cupboard and I only had to pay 27p extra.

    5. Think I might have found a carer job that I can apply for. Printed off all the bumph today. I'm winding down one area of my work and I've got to find another means to earn to fill the gap pronto.

    Sweet dreams

    Quick update for today:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Smaller son went out with his friends to the local football game (£1 for children). They bumped into their DT teacher walking his dog so had a chat with him!

    3) Bigger son and I went into other local town and did some geocaching along the river bank.

    4) Got some bark chippings from the forest and put them down in the hen pen (which is all mud at the moment).

    5) Collected smaller son again and he'd had a good time.

    6) Pizzas for tea.

    7) Watched Casualty.

    8) Bigger son feeling a bit better today.

    Just a quick wave hello.

We are still here, I am still a wife , I still have a husband. After a very poorly day yesterday , following a severe haemorrhage at 3am, we had all said goodbye, had spent all day and all night here.

At 10am this morning, he lurched ( and I mean lurched) awake and has been awake and talking since, so I feel we've been given a bonus day with him...for whatever reason. I know we don't have long but what a lovely extra 8 hours we've been given up until now.

He's not got long, I'm under no illusions about that but feel like we have been blessed today for some reason.

The kindness of the nurses. They've moved the room around to allow me to have my bed right next to his.

My children, I wish they weren't going through this but we do it altogether with love and solidarity and a big splash of humour. Love them all. Their indignation at ' new folk in town' who obviously don't understand the etiquette of the kitchen...we clean up after ourselves and put things away!
I suggested that if they saw us doing it then they might realise!

A double decker. DD1 had went shopping for some lunch things. She got me a DD ...even though it was my card she paid with!

Next door had a party in the room today which spilled out on to the balcony, I realised I had bras out on my balcony drying! Had mentioned in passing to our nurse...then went out to hang some more clothes out and the people out there said we never saw your bras, honestly...whaaaat?
Turns out nurse had 'just mentioned it' when she was in next door!
So I just said well, they're dry now and at least they're clean!

Then our afternoon nurse has just asked me if I'd lost some knickers?
No! Someone else got a pair of lilac knickers...mine are all accounted for!

Right...what will be will be. Have a lovely Sunday. We had a beautiful sunrise and it's been warm here today ( I know that as i brought my washing in!) this will be my 10th night staying here.

Mhags thinking of you all. Such lovely posts.

    1. Spent time in the garden - mainly the greenhouse out of the wind but did sort out covers that had blown off and chairs that had fallen over and loving the iris that are out.

    2. DS2 surviving a rugby match without injury. Some 1st team players were playing and said he could be playing for them before the end of the season. He was pleased.

    3. Clean sheets on the bed.

    4. Managed to find space to store some of DH work stuff. A feat as are still decorating our bedroom which has no furniture in it.

    5. Meal with a friend. He is happier now than he has been. It was good listening to his plans and that he is planning for his future.
  • Duvet testing is currently being carried out.

    Normal service will resume later.

Oh no, Mhags has her knickers and bras in a twist! One from Jenny :heartpuls
  • Morning all.

Sending gentle wishes to mhags and family x

    Pleasures for Saturday.

    1. Cleaning out under my bed, almost eaten alive by the dust bunnies and ooooh so much carp under there however it's done.
    2. French toast made with thick sliced homemade bread, blooming gorgeous.
    3. Building a giant cushion mountain and watching dds jump on and off it 😂
    4. Snorkers, mash red cabbage with gravy slurp :)
    5. A cosy Saturday night in with kids, blessing counted

Have a good day all xx
