Yay haggis visiting his papa 😊
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. An accomplished day at work, I really struggle with maths and I now find myself closing payroll every week for 500 people. It wasn't easy at first but now I got it down. Boss was very impressed with how far I've come.
2. A yummy chicken tikka sandwich munched at my leisure.
3. Putting my pjs on, I cant even convey the joy this brings to me. Having worked Friday nights for the last 3 years, to know that I am in to stay in is still thrilling 8 weeks down the line.
4. Putting you tube on the tv and having a good old sing along with the family. I sadly haven't been blessed with the voice of an angel, more screech than sublime, however it's all good fun.
5. The promise of a leisurely weekend, no major plans or demands on my time, utter bliss.
Much love to you all xxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:

1) A run of blackthorn bushes on the river path so covered with blossom it looked like snow.
2) The first cerulean blue flowers on a sheltered alkanet plant under a big oak tree in the pub car park.
3) A very friendly and quite young retriever in the park by the river who was actually white, stunningly beautiful and a lovely dog.
4) Celeriac soup from a fresh dug one in the garden, house smells wonderfully savoury.
5) Cookie walked and I'm home just as the rain started and it's 6 NATIONS!!!Hoorah!!!
6) The little patio rose plant that DD2 bought me last year has today produced masses of lovely new leaves.....and I thought it was dead!!! How lovely is that?0 -

It's been an odd tiring week for me, have slept a lot with very early beds but think it has done me good.
1. Very satisfied with my work this week, achieved a lot and feel chuffed to be given 2 new interesting projects to get my teeth into.
2. A magpie couple have taken up residence in the nearest big sycamore which is already nested by a wood pigeon couple and several squirrels.
3. For an insomniac I've over slept this week which has been fantastic if not somewhat limiting to my evenings, but so worth it. Boy does it make the day so much better having a full night of sleep!
4. Storm Doris was fairly kind to us here but we got a beautiful smattering of snow on the islands which look stunning from the mainland. Thankfully the ferry has been fine too. For locals and us who work there it makes all the difference.
5. Grown up sons are a joy, especially when they nag me! Apparently I've not hosted a big roast dinner for them and their girlfriends since the Xmas hols - that's me told haha. I do enjoy our coffee meet ups and outings but appreciate that they really enjoy those lets have a big, lazy long family meal together.
Best wishes and love to you all x0 -
mhags - delighted to hear about the visit of Haggis. Great therapy from a family pet/member.
DH and I had a fantastic week in Dubai, staying with my bestie who lives over there. Then back to earth this week with two courses and two parents' evenings. Exhausting, but I've made it to the end of the week! Whoop!
Pleasures for the last few days:
1) Many NSDs this week.
2) Met up with a friend for coffee. She paid!
3) Meal planning for the forthcoming week. I'd forgotten how it reduces my shopping bill when I actually stick to the plan... :money::whistle:
4) Having the opportunity to read my book. Better than spending an inordinate time on Facebook!
5) Home cooked food, after all the eating out in Dubai. I love eating out, but really there's nothing like your own food, cooked by you. Perfect. Vicky: Sounds like an amazing time was had.
1.All the animal bedding has been changed, 3 washing loads to do it all and toys, I have to tumble dry it to get their hair off. But all clean and sprayed now.:)
2. DH and I still aren’t feeling up to going out, but I am sure we can manage until Monday, we have marvel powdered milk and the last of oven bread, together with pasta bakes and freezer tetris. I had wanted to go YS shopping as sat evenings is the best time for us but it can wait we still have enough in the freezers for another month.:o
3.One of the animals won’t leave us alone and has taken to curling up in our bed with us, I swear she’s keeping an eye on us to make sure we don’t forget their food and drink.:D
4. Just about juggling money, cancelling all un-needed DD’s and reducing debits where possible. Time to get selling some bits and bobs though there is nothing here that will make us rich in cash but a few bits that will keep the devil at bay. DF also wants some cash jobs done.
5. Lit a few candles, pie and roasties are cooking in the oven for tea and feeling blessed rather than caged I’m enjoying being about today.:)0 -
Today:
1) looked after the LO this morning. We had fun in our PJs watching her favourite nursery rhymes, children's songs and Raa Raa the noisy lion. Lots of cuddles, tickles and giggles.
2) spent some valuable time with a dear family member. He paid me a back handed compliment by spontaneously saying I looked nice (v unusual for him). When I asked "really?" he replied, "compared to how you sounded this week". Thanks
3) enjoyed church in the afternoon, gave me time to reflect and was given sound counsel
4) met with friends for coffee late afternoon, long overdue after several weeks. It reminded me that my problems aren't exclusive to me and everyone seems to be a bit fed up atm. Love my friends.
5) didn't need to go to the supermarket in the end, although not a NSD it's been a v low spend dayValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
