    Todays pleasures
    1. work over till Monday :j got home in time to see DS for 10 minutes before he left for work. Haven't seen much of him lately and I will probably be in bed when he gets home tonight

    2. lovely sun, warm when sheltered from the wind, got towels dry and DS's work stuff

    3. Had a walk round local pond and the trees are full of blossom - lovely

    4. dropped some glass off at bottle bank near pond - wasn't many bottles / jars but glad they're out of the kitchen

    5. managed some ironing - only a few of DS's t shirts so only needed a quick going over - and put washing away. Kitchen looks a bit tidier !

Have a good weekend everyone x

    Thanks:)
I could never ever count ironing as a pleasure it is my least favourite chore to be avoided unless absolutely necessary, do like the satisfaction of a good "shake and fold" though
  • obviously my post was misleading as ironing is never a pleasure :rotfl:

I try to do as little ironing as possible but didn't get round to hanging these off the line.

The pleasure is the kitchen is a bit tidier, which is always a challenge in this house ;)

Tidier does it for me LOL :D not sure I ever quite manage a tidy kitchen - suppose it shows it's used and the heart of my home :)

1.Throat infection has moved to chest infection, plus side at least my throat has stopped doh.:o

2.I just did a fake away using everything we have in, I maintain take away is better, but it was worth a try, I made chicken chow mein and chicken balls with mango chutney as it’s what we had in. Yup created a lot of washing up and that vaguely disappointed hmm it’s just not the same.:o

    3.Tea lights burning away.

    4. We still aren’t feeling up to going out, so we have moved onto long life milk and cook in oven bread, well thats what it's there for.

    5. 2 of the animals keep curling up on us, very cute.

    Good news about Haggis' visit.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens all fine.

    3) Went to Birmingham on the train. Not our ordinary station of departure as was told the line was closed further on due to Storm Doris.

    4) Went to Chinese Quarter for lunch.

    5) Bigger son wanted to re-create a photo of him from 5 years ago, sitting on the top of the sphinx in Victoria Square.

    6) Went to The Oasis, a favourite haunt of mine as a teenager.

    7) Hot chocolate in the Great Western Arcade.

    8) Bigger son went out this evening.

    9) Smaller son went to his football lesson.

    10) Bigger son decided to come home early so we watched the Last Leg. He had not had any tea so I've just taken him in ham and cheese on toast but he was already talking in his sleep by the time I cooked it and got it upstairs! (He did wake up and eat it).

    11) About to listen to the News Quiz/Now Show, whichever it is.

    Latest

Big London train approaching Swindle Town. More later. Sarnies are now crumbs. I know they wouldn't last!

Now at Didcot. Nearly there. Wander if we will see the bear?

    Latest.
    Bear sighted.

At gallery in Fish head square. No Turner spotted yet. Dinner.

    Extra pleasures:
Dear Brian Matthew back for his final Sounds of the Sixties on Radio 2. He's kept me company on a Saturday morning ever since John Peel died and Home Truths wasn't what it was.

The first daffodil is fully open in the flowerbed underneath my lounge window.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
