Hugs to mhags and your world cancer day journal
    1) lazy morning. Didn't like new exercise from physio but seems to be working. Turns out she knows her stuff :rotfl:
    2) 9am cooked breakfast. Yum. Then writing due to start 9:45 but met lovely couple from Loughborough uni. They have invited me back in sept to do a workshop with their PhD students who they bring for induction. Another weekend at The Burn? Doing mind I I do!
    3) edits to colleague's 1st draft summer student award application. Needs to be in 12 noon Monday  so took priority
    4) after lunch wrote 1st draft abstract for conference (needs to be in midnight Monday oops) and ethics application (always fun writing an abstract when you haven't actually got any results)
    5) after tea 2nd draft yay.
Now sitting in front of lovely fire, glass of wine, about to read next 4 chapters of book then I think a nice bath is in order.

Pleasures for yesterday (Friday) and today

    Yesterday

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Work went OK, including annual review.

    3) Bigger son went to his friend's and stayed overnight.

    4) Smaller son had his first session at football coaching. There was talk of changing his mind and running back to the car but he made it, saw his friend and joined in. One girl sitting along the bench from me said to her dad "Who is that new boy who keeps shouting all the time?" and that was smaller son, being encouraging! He really enjoyed it and wants to go every week. :-)

    5) Watched the Last Leg.

    Today

    1) A lie in!

    2) Picked bigger son up and he was happy enough.

    3) Sons are at their father's now but got a sudden phone call earlier this evening from bigger son who wanted to phone as he "hadn't spoken to me for ages".

    4) Went to Hereford for lunch in my favourite caf!. Did charity shops and, in the same shop, found a Superdry T shirt for bigger son and, amazingly, an as new Man Utd football shirt for smaller son, who had noticed that every child at football had a proper shirt, apart from him. £3.50 and they were £40 - £70 online! I texted him a photo then had to divert on the way home so I could give it to him for immediate wearing!

    5) Have spent the rest of the day doing mammoth amounts of laundry and moving all the furniture in my room so I could hoover then steam the floorboards. Cleared out the wardrobes, ironed and cleaned the turtle tank out.

    6) Had scampi and chips from the van.

    7) Watched Casualty.

Good evening, just waiting on a storm coming which will hopefully clear the air , it's very hot and humid.

Funny old day, a bit bitsy at times.

Cleaned bathrooms, hoovered, made some lovely lentil soup.

We were expecting an eBay buyer coming to collect our kayak ( operation get that garage emptied before you go!) . A man was at the front door with a massive bouquet of flowers. I couldn't understand why someone buying kayak had flowers and why OH was bringing him into our front room...turned out it was one of my dear friend from home's Melbourne cousins! She had emailed him and asked him to get me flowers!
They are beautiful and such a lovely surprise. He stayed and had a cup of tea and can talk as much as his cousin can!

Kayak guy came ...to pick up our 5m kayak in his pals tiny car! It was hanging over the front and hanging over the back! Good luck with that!

Sorted out some more paperwork. There is so much! Recycled a load so that's a to do job done.

Another to do job was cleaning my cutlery drawer. Also hoovered the toaster drawer! Be gone crumbs!one of those I need to do that sometime kind of jobs.

A friend had sent me a text yesterday offering to come over and do my housework for me. Whilst a lovely thought I don't really need that and quite like staying in control by doing my own housework ....so I suggested meeting for a catch up instead. That would do me more good!

    Have a lovely Sunday :)
  • I know. Just intrigued about & prison bag. No idea who this person is!

5 BoPsie finally got out of the women's toilets and clothes shop inn time to see BoP wolf down another big omelette and juice. No money was spent as she could not make her mind up. All is good with the motor of BoP and it was nice and clean.

4 While in town yesterday I walked through the so called farmers market. My nana would not say it is a market though. Well, I don't buy anything because we have a very good butcher, and if I buy if the so called market, I put him out of business. He is local. The farmer comes from where the big Warster train ends up. And they call it shop local! On the subject.

3 BoPsie mention this transition thing was. I explained it is like the rich nouveau wants to keep his coins and build so called eco homes on his current playing field and then build his park taking local club into more debt, while he can then watch me and you pay tax to see the work volunteer, paying rent in the eco home on current playing field, while the tax subsidy currently at a loss of £2.5 million a year, so called player wages of £200k. Yet the girl struggling on the checkout pays more tax to keep it so! FGR accounts for 2016. Loss of £2.5 million. And it looks like LieSter are on their way down as well.

2 Day BoP is having home maid fish and chips! More later.

Start your wander filled journey today.
  • Pleasures for Sunday

    1. a lie in. Much needed, still feeling grotty.

    2. sorted out some money issues that were worrying me and sorted out my monthly budget. Poll tax free month this month & next so money put aside for my "holiday pot" to see family in the summer and xmas

    3. dull day but dry and breezy so got 2 loads of washing out on the line and mostly dried. Lovely red sky this evening.

    4. had a pj day - must have looked a sight if anyone saw me putting the washing out :rotfl: Had a shower, hair wash & got dressed at 5pm hoping it would make me feel a bit better

    5. nice dinner with DS before he does on night shift - medallion steaks with oven sweet potato fries for DS and oven chips for me and had garlic mushrooms and asparagus both on offer this week at aldee

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Cleaning and washing continued - porch, swept garden, hoovered and steamed downstairs floors.

    3) Went to Sainsburys for lunch then shopping.

    4) Ordered bigger son's new school trousers from M and S. Apparently no one in the world has a 30 inch waist and 34 inch legs so had to get the nearest size possible.

    5) Bigger son opened his acceptance letter from college.

    6) Had bagels for tea with smoked salmon and cream cheese.

    7) In bed with hwb and will listen to the Archers.
