What a good site, Skint. I've ordered some from m and s but will bear those in mind when he demolishes the new ones. I've bought him 2 men's suit shirts as they have polo shirts in the summer term. Then he'll be leaving!
  • 1. For yesterday we travelled over to the in-laws, and helped with starting some trouble shooting on their car and going through a box of bits, while being fed and watered. Back in the early – late hours of this morning in bed for 4am. They mentioned they wished we lived closer, We have pondered the idea but we are also mid way between both sets here. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do for the best. I would love to live closer but my DF requires a high level of care at the mo.

    2. Crocus’ springing up and downright out in the greenhouse. So, I need to get planting the rest of the bulbs but it is supposed to be frosty tonight.

    3. The pork joint is cooking smelling delicious, it was served with mash and veg.

    4. There is a job boiling away, but until I get the firm offer I can’t relax so later tonight I will be refreshing and sending it back out again, applying for a few bits and bobs. I really need something to be able to start this month.

    5. Meal planning for the next week all done, and list of things to complete tomorrow.
  • 1) Someone had a coal fire going this afternoon, the smell of childhood!

    2) A single pink rosebud just beginning to open in a front garden.

    3) Bumped into my brother and walked up the road with him putting the world to rights, very pleasant.

    4) Gorgeous video of young Orley wriggling and kicking on his baby gym, 4 weeks old and beginning to understand his world, he's beautiful.

    5) 2 turkey breast fillets YS in Mr.T this morning are now in my freezer, substantially reduced in price, very nice too!!!

    Trying again...
    1. My toasty warm heated throw enabling me to keep the heating down.

    2. Patient delivery drivers waiting for me to reach the door.

    3. The snowdrops are out - I thought DGS had wiped them out last Autumn during vigorous weeding. They are not as luxuriant as previous years but they are still there.

    4. The weeding disturbance also forced all the daffodils in to producing flower buds. There are so many this year already. I may have daffs for St David's Day again if we get some sunshine in the next 3 weeks.

    5. Out and about cycling on the trike, chilly and a little damp but much better than the weather elsewhere. Don't think I forgot anything vital when I was out shopping - now to unpack and discover, having sat down to recover.

Haven't actually bought from them Frith, they were just the first site I found when I googled banner trousers...
We always had to buy logo'd polo shirts from a local uniform shop (blooming rip off) but the banner trousers they sold were great, nice sturdy fabric lasted ages.

    Pleasures for today Monday

    1. felt well enough to get up and go to work. It was over quickly enough. Saw lots of crocuses sprouting at the side of the road on the way home.

    2. really fancied a McD's when the smell wafted over as I left work. Went home and had liver and onions instead, quickly pan fried with gravy granules and a microwaved jacket potato nom nom and less than £1

    3. heard Mr blackbird singing at the top of the tree outside my kitchen window as I was washing up

    4. its chucking it down with rain outside but at least the car is clean :p

    5. and its so mild the heating is off again. Came on for 15 minutes about 8pm so DS could have a shower and get ready for work. Can't believe these temperatures for February

    3. Luckily, J checked during Sat. jumble sale that & was okay for 'duty' yesterday... & had thought 1st Sunday in March, but all was well, which was just as well, as & was solo! Poor J[70+] had burst blood vessel at ankle early a.m., fountain spurts through skin and v. fast ambulance>Adbrkes! Called briefly today, home again, OK, but very alarming at time.

    4. Well done John Bercow:

I forgot to say, Ampersand, I did listen to Pretending - and it was great, what a perfect capture. As soon as I heard White Horses I was hooked...!

Ah mcculloch29, white horses....intrinsic part of my childhood and fed a little girls obsession with horses, along with Follyfoot Farm :)

Some pleasures for last couple of days,

Catching up on the Archers, oh lordy, we actually cheered Helen.

Seeing the youngest hollow-legged stepsons face when his miniscule starter arrived on sunday, apparently he was nursing a hangover and was the cause for their last minute dash to get to the pub on time, his roast main restored his faith in mankind.

Visited an independent opticians in horsey town, trying to move away from the large corporate and support more local businesses, good service and I didn't have to pay before receiving the product.

After another rubbish nights sleep, having a nap on the sofa and waking up to see Tilly's nose two inches from mine, OH said she had been like that for quite a while, willing me to wake up, probably just cupboard love :D

    1. Lovely sunset this evening driving home from work.

    2. Had a roast chicken las night and it was very tasty. DS2 was happy as I did homemade stuffing.

    3. Lunch provided at work yesterday which was good. Also someone brought cake in today.

    4. Met a friend for lunch on Friday, a former colleague for coffee on Saturday and a work get together on Saturday evening so a busy time but all enjoyable.

    5. Spent Sunday in the garden. General tidying up and had a bonfire as burnt some old furniture which was falling to bits and beyond saving. We kept the wood that could be reused.
