    Hi Everyone,

Welcome Winchelsea, sounds like a lovely day. I have enjoyed reading everyones exploits, especially ladyhawks special delivery! Well done on your victory! Thanks to Kittykins and Sparrer for the jokes. :rotfl:Caterina - Thanks for the link to the Afternoon tea website. What abrilliant idea!

    Last one for Monday!!

'The Ghost' was a really good film. Ewan McGreggor.....Mmmmmm.

    Yesterday

    1. Took my 6th formers to local community garden and planted potatoes.
    2. Stayed late at work to put up a display. V pleased with how it looks.
    3. Lovely lessons all morning, despite a high level of unpreparedness due to going out the night before!:o
    4. Lots of bargains in MrM.
    5. Too tired to watch Heston, so went to bed at 9.30pm.

    Today

    1. DS1 made us coffee this morning. It was a bit cold, but nevermind, he made it!!!:T
    2. Got to work earlier this morning.
    3. Completed an admin task in my non contact time this morning, so feeling virtuous.
    4. Credit card tart this evening:money:
    5. DH has gone to collect DD from work, and I get to slob about on the sofa typing this and watching 'Jamie does Andalucia' at the same time! :)

Hope everyone is having a good evening.
    Pukka! HE x

Ear ache! I thought I was having a recurring ear infection but without feeling poorly. When I jumped in the swimming baths at the weekend, my noseclips flew off and I got a nose full of water and... my ears have hurt ever since. Turns out there is something called "Swimmers Ear" (!) and that's what I've got - severe pain even if you just touch the outside bit of ear. :-(

Other rubbish news to get out of the way quickly is that the ex did NOT go to his fraud trial this week as its been adjourned 'til the end of June...

    5 for today:

    1) Went to college this morning and it went pretty well.

    2) Went to Sainsburys and got a new hoover! Very much needed and £24.

    3) Dug up some variagated thing which had completely taken over the front garden with its horrible, carpet-like roots. Some little holly trees had self seeded in there so the boys potted those up to add to their "garden centre".

    4) Pleasant tea of lasagne and green beans followed by home made rice pudding.

    Oh, can't think of 5!

Thank you for not sending me to Coventry, couldn't resist a little lightheartedness and this is the best place for that :D. In a similar vein but true this time, I was watching Come Dine With Me and a woman on there said, quite seriously, her recipe was one of Bloomer Hestletine's :rotfl:

Oh ACEY I am sorry about the trial :A. Horrible for you to have this constantly over your head.
No news from Ollie :(, I remember last time she was AWOL it was because her comp went down. Hope it's something just as simple this time
    Welcome Winchelsea

    My 5 -
    1. Furpets let me lie in til 8.30 :D
    2. Weeded my front garden, which consists of paving slabs three deep and 8 across - took all of 20 minutes but it's amazing how quickly the weeds grow between the cracks
    3. If anyone wants to know where all the ladybirds are this year I seem to have acquired them. There were about 30 in my garden, I counted 11  just on one bamboo planter. They'll eat any aphids so I don't mind them being here but I might pop over to the greenfingered forum in the morning and see if anyone there knows why there are so many this year
    4. Dear friend in Beijing has had todays op for his tumour cancelled as further scan shows it has progressed too far, but good news from ex-husband in the west country, his hip replacement went ahead today after 4 deferrals. Emotions are a bit all over the place but c'est la vie
    5. The sunshine, and the forecast for the weekend when I hope to do a car boot sale. It's looking good! :D

    Night night, sweet dreams

    Morning,

Feeling a little fragile this morning after a few glasses of wine last night, anyway mine for yesterday:
    1. The project I am working on at work is much further on than anyone realised and should be finished tomorrow. This is my first major project in this job so pleased it has gone well.
    2. Checking my bank account and it being very healthy considering it is the end of the month. The amount that was left used to be all that was left after just being paid as always lived in my overdraft. Very pleased with myself:money:
    3. Not a pleasure as such but someone made a complaint about our department, the pleasure is we can prove that all the claims are incorrect as I have kept detailed notes about what we have done and not done. It appears someone was out of their depth and trying to pass the blame to us.
    4. Catching up with lots of friends last night for dinner. We all used to work together so its nice that we all still keep in touch.
    5. Lovely dinner and a few glasses of wine, yes we had a voucher

Need to get ready for work now and drink more tea. Hugs to all who need them especially Sparrer and Blimus. Welcome to Winchelsea it sounds like you had a lovely day that was well deserved as well.

    Morning all,

Welcome to winchelsea. Wells is lovely isn't it, and the market is fab. Going on a magical mystery bus trip was something we used to do as children with my mum. We ended up in all sorts of places by just getting on the first bus in the station, it was such an adventure not knowing if we would be going to the seaside, forest, country park, shopping centre, etc.

    Here are mine for yesterday:

    - Sorting out the forms and breakdown cover for taking the car abroad (something I have been putting off for ages!)
    - Getting lots of travel insurance quotes to get the best deal. The old pre-MSE me would have just gone with the first company I recognised.:money:
    - Putting paperwork into folders that had been hanging about for ages, I will keep my living room clutter free!
    - Getting rid of loads of rubbish and packaging that has been lurking in various bedrooms.
    - Generally feeling good about life! :)

  • Hello everyone,

    How are you today?

Winchelsea - Hi! :) It really is a great thing this thread. Love the Iceland jokers! :rotfl:

    My five are...

    1. The Mediumship Circle I went to last night was amazing. I'm so in the right place with this. It's a training circle. I was blown away by the ease of it all. Very happy bunny! :D Plus I met some lovely people.
    2. Lovely OH fell asleep on the phone last night - tired boy - which was very sweet. Just prior to that he said some very lovely things to me which reminded me how lucky I am.
    3. Another sneaky OH related pleasure - he text me this morning to say sorry for falling asleep and that he can't wait to see me. Sigh! :happyhear
    4. Seeing the plot develop into a home... very nice. (Self-building).
    5. Feel like I 'get it now'. By that I mean everything in general, like just how things happen, fit together, work... not sure how to explain it, but it's a very reassured and content feeling. Hope you 'get' what I mean?! :)
    6. Reading through everyone pleasures - always a joy! Thanks.

    Have a great day :T
  • Thanks to all for your continuing kind words.
winchelsea - welcome to the thread. This is the bestest thread on the whole of this forum.
kittikins - I like your grading for the Reverbe scale - a 'massive Reverbe' for pound coins! Nice!
Girlysquare - well done on your interview. Fingers crossed for you.
Acey - sorry to hear about the trial being postponed. Like Sparrer said, horrible thing to have hanging over you. Ouch - hope your ears feel better soon.
sparrer - That's really sad news about your friend in Beijing. Hoping that he can find peace within himself after such a crushing blow. Re ladybirds. Don't know if it was just a regional thing, but last summer we had a ladybird plague for weeks. It was horrible! There seem to be loads around this year too - so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again.
Shadowsfall - I get what you mean when you say that you get it now!!:rotfl: I felt like that when we moved to Norfolk and changed our lifestyle. Was like an epiphany! :A

    Here are mine from yesterday:

    1) My favoured political party seems to be doing very, very well in our region - it's almost a solid blanket of orange signs outside houses supporting the party.
    2) And on the subject of politics, I realised yesterday that Martin Lewis would make a great PM :money: - he's given us the MSE website and forum and look what we've all done with it and all the lives that have changed for the better because of it. People power at it's best! :T
    3) Rain showers in the morning (good for the garden) swiftly turned into yet another beautiful day.
    4) Being very pleased to see DH when he got home from work after depressing myself googling breast cancer.
    5) Doing some steps watching 'Jamie Does Andalusia'. I would love to live in Andalusia - or have a very extended holiday there one day.

Hope everyone has a great day

    Welcome, Winchelsea! :j

And ouch! to Acey ref the swimmer's ear

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. New season NCIS on TV.

    2. When I told a client that I was leaving, he said he'd transfer his business to me when I come back. Now I'm not planning on setting up my own business, but it was nice to feel wanted!

    3. Yummy homemade curry and rice for tea.

    4. Totting up my finances and realising that I should be well under in the grocery challenge this month (makes a change...:o)

    5. Having a legitimate reason to miss the gym, as I had to be with my client by 8.30am. Nice to have a day off from it.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
