Evening,
Thanks again guys for all the hugs and messages of support. Sorry if I brought up painful memories for anyone.:o I am distracting myself ahead of the funeral. Special hugs to those with friends/family in need. :grouphug:
1. Going for a walk with the dog and seeing the biggest, most gorgeous white blossom on a tree.
2. Contacting a couple of neglected friends, the sort you think I must ring them up and don't get round to. Well I got in contact and it felt good.
3. The roof over my head.
:ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

3) My cat coming for a cuddle and apparently not holding a grudge over the fact I've stepped on him three times already today. (It's his own fault for standing so close that I can't move my feet without falling over him, but cats aren't usually that logical. Nor are humans, come to think of it!)

I have a similar problem - I nearly did the dive of death down the stairs the other day; both of them weave in and out through my feet as I walk!
Ladyhawk, well done on the payrise and getting the mortgage under £100K!
My 5 for today:
1. Hearing that my colleague has had her baby - another little boy.
2. Yummy spicy pasta for tea. Maybe I had too heavy a hand with the spices - it was pretty fiery!
3. Finishing work early to go to clients near to where I live.
4. Good session at the gym.
5. Another lovely sunny day here in Bristol.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hi all
1. Lovely sunshine again!
2. Worked from home
3. More shoots from the unknown seeds, sure whatever vegetables they turn into will be delicious, lol.
4. DD had a little friend over to play after school and they were very cute together, if both a little tired and emotional at times!
5. Made a quick and easy chocolate cake for our afternoon tea, ok, normal cake with cocoa powder, yum yum!0 -
Evening all
I am still ill so not been able to do my volunteering at toddler group today which was a shame, that is usually one of my thursdays pleasures! Ah well, I am sure I can still find 5!!
1 The sun shinning through the windows when I got up
2 As no toddler group I managed to do today's flylady this morning. :T
3 Also managed to hoover downstairs and give kitchen a quick clean. Ds2 was sat on sofa when i hoovered. He is 2 and his little legs were just overhanging the edge of sofa. Bless him, he lifted his feet up like he has seen daddy do so I could hoover under them! That did make me chuckle!!! :rotfl:
4 Made a lemon drizzle cake (dh's favourite and he has been having a hard time in work recently) in the breadmaker and with oil not butter and it turned out quite light and fluffy.
5 Made spag bol for tea and everyone ate it, even dd and took her a normal length of time to eat it rather than the 1 - 2 hours that it sometimes takes. :T And for dessert apple crumble that the kids made in family seal this afternoon.
Thats it from me.0 -

3. Warm and cosy sat here at my computer
4. lovely walk after work
5.grateful I've got paid work"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
My five:
1) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
2) cuddles from dd this morning
3) having some giggles at work and sitting out in the sun at lunchtime
4) dd showing me her handwriting practice sheets we created for her from this website
5) dp's roast chicken for tea, yum!"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
5 for today.
1) Ear possibly slightly better. Yesterday, I was sometimes having to breathe through the pain!
2) Went to the JobCentre this morning and they are always so helpful and polite. Looked into what will happen when I go back to work and it does seem I will be about £20 per week better off.
3) Went to see my solicitor later and she has everything in order. Did laugh that she happened to be working in the same court the ex went to for fraud on Monday. (Seems HE went but for some reason the witnesses aren't needed yet????) My solicitor went up to him and said, "Hello, Mr Acey" and he nearly fell over in shock! There's no love lost between those 2. :-D
4) Popped up to the Countryside Centre after seeing the solicitor and had a cup of tea and a cake.
5) Took the boys up to the Clee Hill for chips for tea.

1. My darling daughter passed her driving test today, first time too. I'm so proud of her!
2. Took homemade north staffs oatcakes and some cheese to my parents so we could all have our tea together, they got one of my jars of Christmas Chutney out of the cupboard as an accompaniement, and it was yummy.
3. Talked dear daughter into spending half an hour in the garden digging a small piece of ground about 5 ft x 1.5 ft...so hopefully we can grow the squash as climbers against the fence now...if they ever germinate.
4. Made a second compost heap, neither of them are really ideally situated but we will just have to see what happens with them and perhaps move them, if necessary.
5. Had massive barny with teen son tonight, but we have temporarily patched things up (we seem to rub one another up the wrong way so much these days)....till the next time. Shed a few tears but feel a bit better now.
Hope you have all had a good OS day!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Katholicos, how do you make your Staffs Oatcakes? I LOVE OATCAKES!! I`ve had a few goes and they`ve been ok but not quite...you know. Would you share your recipe, pretty pretty please?
Congrats to your daughter, and maybe your son and you are too much alike, that`s why me and my DS fall out!
My OS pleasures today:
1) Had a little lie-in as I was on a late shift
2) Went to Asda this am and got some whoopsied free-range chicken legs, and some half-priced trousers for DGD, who has yet to see them but am GlOWING because I know she`ll love them.
3) Went to work early to get a parking space and then ate my lunch, a picnic in the car, a panini bread STUFFED with a whole avocado all squished into the bread. I watched baby rabbits and a pair of blackbirds in the hospital car park, so saved a bit of the bread to chuck out as I left the car. Great lunch, was able to resist chocs on the ward this evening!
4) Enjoyed my shift this pm, wasn`t stressed, NICE, felt lovingly to patients AND colleagues, minor hassles didn`t bite.
5) Got home and didn`t even have a VAGUE meal-plan. Had enjoyed my shift so much I`d forgotten the folks at home, it was that good! AND, DS had a friend round- still here as I type, actually! Did a quick forage and had a spring cabbage still squeaky fresh from farm shop on Tuesday, and a £5 pack of bacon from Iceland same day, thanks to my younger DGD trapping her fingers after a visit to the shoe shop next to Iceland so I dashed her in there to get some frozen peas, saw the bacon, and did some more bits of shopping...
SO put spring cabbage in steamer, bacon under grill, bacon juices over cabbage and a fried egg to go with it, sent OH off to bed very happy with that (he`s early shift tomorrow) then put more bacon under grill and fed DS and his mate the makings of bacon butties, bacon, a sliced loaf needs using today, and ketchup. Am now free to catch up with e`mail and plot my day off tomorrow, will have bacon & cabbage for breakfast as I`m still feeling un-hungry after my avocado panini picnic this afternoon! Might eat a banana before I go to bed. Goodnight all!0 -
Thank you for your kind thought re my friend. I've been keeping myself occupied and have managed quite a lot of tidying of odds and ends today, wearing myself out in the process. Fell asleep during Question Time and have just woken up
1. As above, got lots of outstanding and annoying little jobs done
