Here are mine for yesterday:
- Visit to the library to return some books and borrow more. Managed to find a travel guide for the region of France we are going to, so saved myself £10 as I was going to buy the same one in Waterstones! I am going to have a read through later and get some ideas for places to visit on our holiday.
- It was such a lovely morning, we took a detour to the park and sat in the sunshine to read our library books, it was so peaceful.
- Getting lots of washing done and dried outside.
- FIL cutting our grass for us, he is fab
- Watching the dog having fun in the sun. she is enjoying the fact she has free access to the garden as it is warm enough to keep the back door open all day.
- Getting the furniture moved around in the living room. It makes it look so much bigger and we now have room for the ever increasing number of toys DD is aquiring!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and words about my sister. She has yet to go and have a mammogram and a biopsy but something today was mentioned about a grade 3 sausage-shaped cyst. So I looked up grade 3 -
- wish I hadn't done now as it didn't read very well. Although I'm sure they can't say anything concrete till after the mammogram and biopsy. So I must stop 'googling' before then. My sister and my mum are remaining upbeat so that's good.
shadowsfall - well done on adding £100 to your savings. :T
nuttybabe - good to hear your DD's getting more adventurous with her food. :T
niksyg - well done on your promotion :T
sparrer & kittikins - Lol! I mean ...groaaan! :rotfl:
Here are mine from yesterday:
1) Another lovely sunny day. Clothes dried on line and more seeds sown.
2) Boys had a great start back with their lessons.
3) A NSD.
4) A delicious tea of roast duck with an orange and date puree (inspired by Jamie does Marrakech) followed by the desserts from the M&S dine in for £10 offer. Was very pleased when DH thought that my pannacotta was nicer than the M&S one.
5) Lots of 'stepping' whilst watching tv.
Hope everyone's day is full of pleasures.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

I think I really should join this thread, as it's so easy to only notice the sad and bad things that are happening. DH's dementia means he can be quite nasty to me, and lots of little episodes throughout the day can make me quite miserable and sorry for myself.
So, there are good things as well if I stop to think about them!
1. Went for a "magical mystery tour" today while the Crossroads carer was here - went to the bus station and got on the first bus I saw, just leaving for Wells. The sun was shining, and the countryside is filled with blossom, new buds and little lambs.
2. Spent some of the journey reading my book ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo")- don't get much chance to read normally.
3. It was market day - had a nice wander, and bought a tray of lovely healthy broad bean plants. Had been a bit miffed with myself, as usually have my own ones flourishing by now.
4. Enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate.
5. Came home to sparkling windows (as Window Cleaner had been), and dry washing blowing on the line. (And DH had been fine.)
May not get around to posting every day, but just to think of positives does us good, doesn't it?Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

Good evening all.
Winchelsea - welcome to the thread. It sounds like you had a lovely day out today - I love the idea of just getting on the first available bus and seeing where you end up.
Blimus - best of luck to your sister for her checks - I really hope it's all OK.
sparrer and kittikins - thanks for the volcano jokes. I think my colleagues were wondering why I kept sniggering at my desk.
nuttybabe - hope you're feeling better soon. WD on your pepper plants - I've still only got the one, although I'm now up to 4 tomato plants.
My pleasures for today:
1) Another fine sunny day. I don't know about you but I could seriously get used to this.(Current favourite smiley.
)
2) I've finally turned off my central heating (it's been on so low it wasn't worth the effort), although I might turn it back on if the reports I've heard of how cold it's going to get next week are correct.
3) The nice builder who saw me out of my driveway this morning. (Although if they hadn't parked the lorry so that I had to get my car out of a gap the width of my car plus 2 inches I wouldn't have needed anyone to see me out. C'est la vie, I suppose.)
4) Salad for lunch doused in salad cream. I'd forgotten how much I love salad cream.
5) Popping on to the website of a company I used to shop with and finding that they've introduced the very product I suggested might encourage me to keep buying from them. Don't you love it when a company actually listens to its customers? (And yes, I did place an order - it seemed mean not to when they'd made such an effort.)
Oh, and an update on the crisps situation (see my earlier posts) - they were all gone by lunchtime today. Even enough salt to poison a slug sitting in the next room isn't enough to put my colleagues off eating snacks, apparently! :rotfl:
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Did a massive Reverbe at work and found a shiny pound coin under a desk
2. Washing nice and dry on the line
3. Surprised DD by taking her to the park after school and invited a couple of her little friends along
4. 2 packs of Hoooola hoops for 50p in the C0op for our snack
5. Wore my flipflops to work as I forgot to change nto more appropriate work shoes after taking DD to school! My feet felt nice and snug all day long
oooh just remembered another one:
6. Picked up a voicemail to say DD has been accepted into a Rainbows group, yay, starting next week. Hope she likes it!0 -
Kittikins and sparrer :rotfl:
Ladyhawk and CCP thanks for the good wishes
niksyg congratulations and well done on your promotion!
Winchelsea welcome!
My five for today:
1) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
2) dd getting up extra early before I went to the interview, I was the first one in and didn't want to be late
3) getting through the interview without clamming up, I'll find out how I got on next week. If successful then I'll have a second interview.
4) sitting outside in the sun at lunchtime
5) home made ragu and spaghetti for tea, yummy"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
1. Drank lots of tea but still managed to clean the entire downstairs and bathroom, cook two loaves of bread and a batch of twinks hobnobs
2. The sun was shining
3. My Kenwood A701A I bought off ebay arrived
4. My daughter helped tidy the lounge
5. I have been invited to attend and co-host a picnic for families
Looking back on that, I haven't had a day like this in quite a while. I am going to go to bed a very happy bunny0 -
Hello
Sorry I haven't been on here for ages - have been so blinkin busy!
I know it's supposed to be 5 pleasures a day but if nobody minds I would like to take 5 pleasures from different days that really lifted my spirit
Last Thursday was my birthday and I went on a college trip to a fire station no less - lovely
My sis, bro-in-law and their children came round in the evening and I had a couple of glasses of wine and plenty of laughs with my lovely sister and her wonderful husband
On my birthday I paid a deposit for my WEDDING dress - woop woop, what a fab birthday present
My lovely colleagues clubbed together and bought me a beautiful necklace and earrings set for my birthday and presented me with it yesterday - and it matches my wedding dress perfectly
I had a very tricky financial problem to deal with and dealt with it this evening and can now breathe a huge sigh of relief
I think I'm very lucky to have had some truly amazing things to smile about
Brightest blessings everyone x
Jenny xxEverything happens for a reason0
