    My five for today:
    1) tea and porridge in bed courtesy dp
    2) cuddles from dd this morning
    3) spending the drive into work thinking of more competency questions and answers for my interview tomorrow. Remembering to say 'I' instead of 'we', lol!
    4) a lovely walk in the sunshine at lunchtime
    5) seeing the funny side of a colleague's moody comments, because she hasn't got her own way (karma will get me :))
"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright
  • 1) Some time on the laptop. This has been almost completely taken over by DD because homework can be submitted online.
    2) Our enormous patch of rhubarb. You can almost see it growing.
    3) A lovely ham salad for tea. It's amazing what you can find in the fridge when you're worried there's nothing in there.
    4) Some plum jam from the pantry on my porridge this morning.
    5) A cup of tea after work with an old friend. I can only call in for half an hour or so but it makes a nice break between work and getting home and starting to make tea etc. She used to work at the same place as me and we're both interested in reading and growing veggies, so we have some nice chats.

    Have a lovely evening everyone.

    Evening all

wssla00 - yes! I did lurk in there a bit to help me focus on which rooms to clean rather than just downstairs!! And now I have signed up for the challenge so hopefully that will motivate me enough to get the house clean and de-cluttered. Thats the plan anyway!!! :D

CCP - Mine too, I planted 6 pepper seeds ages ago and 2 have only just come through! I hope one of them is the banana one!! :p

    Mine for today

    1 Sun shinning

2 Left for school run on time

3 Walked on all 3 school runs and a brisk walk into town :D

    4 Completed todays flylady :T

5 2 of my pepper seeds have come through

6 I put a little shiny star on my thumb nail! Bling for nails!!! :rotfl:

7 Dd ate her tea. She had (wait for it.....) cheesy pasta, lettuce, grated carrot and sweetcorn. She has always refused to eat lettuce, raw carrot and sweetcorn before and she ate all 3 at one meal!!! :j She is definately getting better with her food. She told me its because she is 4 now so likes more stuff than when she was 3! :rotfl:

    Have a good evening everyone

    Evening all!

Have been lurking and not posting for a few days as I have not had lots of pleasures really I suppose, OH has been away so I have been glum, but need to get a grip and snap out of it and recognise the good stuff in life!!

Oh, CCP did you see the sunset in the fogginess last night? We were up at Chalton and it was amazing!

Nuttybabe great to hear about your DD eating her veggies - hurrah! A student asked me how he could start eating more veg the other day because he doesn't like it but knows it's good for him - I'll have to send him round to you!

Anyway, mine for the last few days -

    1) THE SUNSHINE!

    2) Being given a promotion at work on a 3 month probation, which is great seeing as I was starting to look for something else. Now have 'Coordinator' in my title which makes me feel very special!

    3) Taking the easter eggs given by OH's mum into work for the students as neither of us like that particular variety of egg.

    4) Pup can now do 'sit' and give his paw...at only 11 weeks!

    5) Hostas are coming up great guns in the garden.

    6) Read 2 books over the weekend - 'The Alchemist' and 'Kansas in August' both brilliant. (thanks to greenmet)

    7) Made a lovely roast on Sunday that has given us sandwiches yesterday and today.

    8) Made a banana cake on Sunday with leftover blackened nanas - very tasty.

    9) Have paid £100 off debt

    10) Looking forward to my bed tonight as it has been a hectic day.

Hump of the week day tomorrow so downhill from there until the weekend!

    1. Made our evening meal for less than a £1 and there is some left over for lunch tomorrow. I used 1 x sachet of soup mix (12p from AF) some sainsburys soup mix (.50p per bag and used less than 1/3, so say 15p max) 2 x vegetable stock cubes (10p), 4 small potatoes (from a 75p bag and there are 3 times as many left, so say 18p), salt and peper to taste and a 1/4 tsp crushed chillies to give it a bit of a kick. Delish.

    2. Went to my uncle's to do a few things for him, he hasn;t been well but is getting better by the day.

    3. Visited my parents, had a natter, Dad was given a part of his early birthday present (my daughter and myself have subscribed to the Angling Times for him and he got notification through the post today - his birthday isn;t till June but as he isn;t well, it will give him something to read if he gets them early.

    4. Went to Aldi and bought a garden fork and a flexi tub.

    5. Spent a little time in the garden, bit cold out there despite the sunshine.

    Evening all!

Hope you are all fighting fit.

Girlysquare - good luck with the interview! Sounds like you are properly prepared so knock their socks off!

    1) The issue with my cleaner has come to an amusing end. I sent her a letter threatening legal action and she paid up... in 2p coins! I don't care as long as I have got my money. She send me a text saying "You think you are so clever don't you. Have paid the money through your letterbox. Keep the change". Hilarious... batty old fruitcake!

    2) Drinks and dinner with my friend L... it was nice to see her as always even if it wasn't very OS!

    3) Had to go into London for a meeting and went via the flat so that I could have lunch at home. So yummy beef stew that needed eating up was just what I needed.

    4) text from an old colleague suggesting a meet up

    5) Laugh and chat with the girls in the graphics team - they are such nice and genuinely nice people who always make me so welcome when I am in the London office.

Enjoy the rest of your evening. I am off to deepest darkest Wales tomorrow for a work dinner. We flipped a coin to see who would be driving... and I won... though we had decided that the person who wasn't driving would have to present the strategy... but that's ok. I can do that.

wssla the pulmonary rehab course is the best! If anyone gets the opportunity I'd suggest they grab it, I don't know about other areas but here they're like gold dust and I had to wait months before I got a place. So many benefits too, with speakers, dietary advice etc, it's all very sociable. Once the course is finished we were offered the opportunity to still attend for weekly exercise class for 12 weeks, a few weeks break then back, for as long as we want to go. There's no time restriction other than the break which is to allow newcomers the chance to join in. A big advantage for me is that last year I had 9 chest infections, taking anti-b's and steroids each time:(, this year I've only had one :j.
Mods please note this is NOT medical advice, just my experience :)

I enjoyed your volcano joke GirlySquare, I was going to tell one but thought I'd wait til the dust settled :D

    My 5
    1. The sunshine
    2. A nsd
    3. Long chat with my very dear friend in Beijing thanks to 1p a minute number
    4. Watering the garden which can a bit of a chore but very sociable this evening as both neighbours were doing the same so we chatted away and the job was soon done
    5. Olympic Dreams on television

    Night night, sleep tight
