    Evening All,

Mineallmine - Sorry to hear your sad news. Hospices do wonderful work. My daughters swimming club are all running 'race for life' dressed in their synchro costumes. Hope that image makes you smile a little. :)

    My 5 for today

    1. DH birthday. He was pleased with his presents even though the book he ordered hadn't arrived. (No card from DM ).
    2. Quiet day at work. No planes thundering over my classroom. (Flight path for Bham airport!). Not all the kids turned up. Several staff stranded in exotic places. (Jealous!).
    3. DS1 has done well in his recent Chemistry test. Now on a B rather than a D. :A
    4. Afternoon Tea at Harvey Nichols for DH birthday. Very successful idea.
    5. Having a little rest at home before going out to see 'The Ghost' at our local independant cinema. It's a 1930s cinema and we have reserved sofa seating with sparkling wine. This was a Xmas present from friends and also includes driving to and from the cinema. Woo Hoo:j

    Have a lovely evening everyone.

    My five for today:
    1) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
    2) cuddles from dd this morning, her first day back at school
    3) sunshine all day today
    4) sitting in the sun at lunchtime with work friend
    5) receiving my first Iceland joke texted by a friend (apologies in advance) "just been outside and got hit on the head by a lasagne, black forest gateaux and a garlic baguette...must be the fall out from Iceland!"

    Hi,

Mineallmine - big hugs to you. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is a horrible disease which I hope they find a cure for soon. I lost my brother two years ago so I know just how you feel at the moment.
Ladyhawk - Congratulations on the promotion and pay rise.
Girlysquare - your iceland joke did make me smile
House Elf -Hope you enjoy your evening, sounds fab

    Mine for today:
    1. DD got up this morning with out me having to shout at her and left on time. Better make the most of it as I'm sure it won't last after today.
    2. Naughty but nice bacon sandwich for breakfast but just cereal for lunch
    3. Being silly at work today, we were all given little guns that fire foam arrows. They have been flying around the office all day. Kept getting the giggles when talking on the phone.
    4. Popped into Mr.W after work and got a few nice bargains
    5. Chatting on the phone with neice and arranging where to stand to wave her and my brother on when she does the marathon on Sunday. I have got to take jelly babies and water for her.

    1. Had a gorgeous night's sleep last night, went to bed at 8:20 and slept til 6 this morning! I was like a proverbial baby :)

    2. Got lots done around the house before DD got up

    3. A NSD :)

    4. Test drove another car - I like it, but don't think I can afford it, so don't like it that much!

    5. Impromptu dinner tonight with friends for DD, so less cooking, and a nice glass of vino with grownups for me :)

    Evening :)

mineallmine - I am very sorry on the passing of your friend. Hugs to you xx

    My blessings for today:

Had a good time at toddler group with the kids - DD isn't 2 yet and she just gets stuck into anything and everything. She was playing peepo with another girl behind a curtain and it was so sweet to watch her interact and giggle with this other little girl.

Had a nose round a garden centre and picked up a couple of plants to grow over our new arch in the garden.

Another load of washing dried on the line. That makes it nearly two weeks without having the clothes horse up in the house :T

Have set myself a task of cleaning one room in the house today. Decided to add to that cleaning the windows of said rooms and I've managed to do 3 of them this evening.

Watching DD and DS have a mad half hour when their daddy came home

My lovely cup of hot chocolate that I am sipping as I type.

H has agreed I can plant an apple tree in the garden so I get to go mooching for something suitable. Would love to be completely self sufficient, unlikely to EVER happen but little things like this make me feel like I am a step closer :o

Mineallmine - I'm very sorry to hear about your friend.

    5 for today:

    1) A bit of a lie in! It was a teacher training day today.

    2) Took my car in to be mended - 3rd time lucky! Got to borrow the garage's spare car.

    3) Went to see Nanny McPhee at the cinema - can recommend it.

    4) Went to mum and dad's for tea.

    5) Got LOADS done. Since the boys have been asleep I have typed letters to NPower (again), the Energy Ombudsman (about NPower) and my MP (about not getting any CSA for 6 months). I've even belted to the post box and posted them! And wrapped a birthday present, checked and printed out my college homework, packed the school bags for tomorrow and got all the washing put away.

So back to school tomorrow for the boys and I am helping out there too. It is the 2nd and final day of ex husband's fraud trial.....

I think you are all awesome, and your pleasures, trials and tribulations, I feel with you, but Mineallmine I hope you can get through this difficult time and come out the other side with positives, which you already did. Everyone is here for you, whether you know it or not. It might be via the web, but it still means the same if not more hun, try and keep strong and focussed.
Lovely to keep up to date with everyone, going to make a concerted effort to get back to old jex epic posts tomorrow, (yesm this is nothing for the uninitiated, this is editted!) Ollie - WE MISS YOU. good call on the PM Spar, will wait to hear, I hope she is ok.

    1) I made stuff! loads of stuff! And apparently I do good pastry ( I dont, but they know no better! I have a captive audience!)
    2) I like baking! As a result of feedback! I make a basic half fat to flour pastry, and no idea why but people love it! I made... Beef and haggis parcels, haggis and beetroot parcels, 6 scotch pies, a staff scotch pie, I am on FIRE! (not literally you understand, Im not posting from the local A&E!)
    3) Dave won hells kittchen! I dont normally do that stuff, but I dont get TV only catch up! And I liked him, but it says something when someone with one hand gets into the final,. no brainer!
    4) Watched out of the frying pan (by accident!) liked that too! (its the ex runners up of the restaurant from 1 year or so ago!)
    5) apologies that 2 are TV related, but I only have catch up TV, not normal reception, and you lot dont advise so I watch crap!
    6) - by default I get a 6 as I realised I didnt mention the girls! I cleaned them out today, its so much easier when they are let loose, so I can do cleaning, without supervision! Realised today, one of their logs that they roost on still wasnt dried out after weeks in the house... I put it down to the log being really wet, Joost (my awesome kitchen commis and Chicken guru) pointed out that they sleep on it, took me a few mins to realise what he meant, they wee and poo where they sleep... THATS TOO MUCH INFO!
Im off to wash my hands AGAIN!
    Jex

HUGS Acey, I think you are amazing

    1. Evening meal was jacket potatoes with filling of cheese or tuna and a slab of lovely nut roast.

    2. Picked Mum up and tok her shopping.

    3. Checked on the germination (or non- germination) of seeds in the propogators and home made paper pots, delighted to see the sugar snap peas really starting to push through.

    4. Felt unwell all day but i've picked up a bit now it's time for bed! DOH! Heavily medicated though so hoping for some sleep tonight. Managed to sort a fe unwante books out though. I'm trying to be a bit tougher with myself by giving some away. I heart books...

    5. Just remembered, I did a laundry wash today...and i forgot to take it out of the washing machine. Double DOH. It can wait until tomorrow now.

    1. No heating on, all the doors and windows open to let in the fresh air
    2. Pulm rehab class started again after a 6 week break, thank you NHS for providing this wonderful free service but now I ache in places I didn't know I had places :D. That'll teach me to keep up with the good work at home :o
    3. Visited DD afterwards, saw 2 of the DGK's and had a long fuss with their parrot. He's such a big softy, he purrs when I stroke his head :)
    4.Other than subs, a nsd
5.Out with friends from my fellowship this evening, must have been 30 of us tonight all causing uproar. The local police station is opposite, it's a wonder they didn't come along to find out what all the laughter was about :D

    Night night all, sleep soundly
