Late tonight everyone. My blessings for today.

    1) Completely stripped the whole bed and washed and sundried everthing. It all smelled lovely when I brought it in.

    2) Dinner nice and early for a change, enjoyed outside in the beautiful sunshine with DH.

    3) Painted the garage door and re-vamped the garden furniture ready for those hot summer days:)

    4) Sorted out my Strawberry plants and replanted them in fresh compost hoping for a bumper crop:)

    5) DS2 finally managed to get back into his house after accidentally locking himself out.

    Night everyone!

    Yesterday I
    1. Handwashed my woolies and got them flat-dried out in the sunshine,
2 Plus a load of 'normal' washing dried outside
    3. Potted up a whole load of seedlings and planted more seeds
    4. Played my harp out in the garden
    5. Took my increased dose of meds.

    Today
    1. Get the bedding washed and out to dry (have to wait for OH and the cats to get out of the bed first)
    2. Prepare for a job interview on Thursday
    3. Prepare for a Review meeting at work on Friday (not going to be a pleasant event)
    4. Continue knitting my fitted waistcoat (I've already done one by the same pattern and it's incredibly useful for warmth in the garden)
    5. Must remember to eat proper food - I will prepare a salad early in the day so that it is ready
    6. One set of books to mark
    7. Haven't baked for months. Must try to whizz up some fairy cakes if nothing else as a treat for OH.

Morning all! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. My 5 for yesterday:

    1. New foster cats, Fudge and Willow, arrived yesterday morning! They are gorgeous, friendly and confident, and I don't think it will take too long to find homes for them.

    2. My brother and his girlfriend coming round to meet Fudge and Willow. They don't have cats, so they always enjoy meeting my foster babies.

    3. New season CSI: New York plus NCIS on TV.

    4. Getting more of the house cleared and taking some more stuff to the charity shop.

    5. Lovely sunny day here in Bristol - I was really hot driving around in the car. So nice not to have to wear jackets, etc.!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Morning all,

Starting off a bit negative my young friend is very poorly with cancer. My heart is breaking and its made all the worse by the fact she is so young. I've asked friends over on the great declutter thread to consider donating any stuff cleared out for cancer research - could you guys consider that too? Or pop a few read magazines in a local hospital waiting area? :A

Despite my heartache, I feel its healthy to strive and search out those positive things to be grateful for:
    1. Airplanes being out of action. Sorry for those stranded abroad but no airplanes selfishly meant clearer motorways yesterday so easier journey to get to my friend. 2. Finding a lovely couple of parks yesterday. Makes you think who needs shops? Grab a blanket, a sarnie and book. Watch the world go by and chill.
    3. Fresh, clean, crisp covers on the bed.
    4. Seeing a robin in the garden.
    5. Having a garden to enjoy this glorious sunshine.

    :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.

    Sunny Sunday!

Feeling a bit Eeyoreish this morning. Can't understand why really, cos I have got lots of things ticked off my to do list, didn't spend much money, spent lots of time with DS2, and house and garden much improved. However, do feel guilty that I haven't got much school work done or much Ebaying, unless you count buying stuff off Ebay!!

Looking on the bright side.... yesterday.

    1. Cheap haircut at Uni hairdressers.
    2. DS2 getting on well with his swimming lessons. Wants to start going to weekly classes.
    3. Good bargains at Rag Market. It's like shopping at Approved Foods without the delivery charge!!
    4. DH Birthday meal with friends. Beef Bouginioun was a success and DS2 decorated a cake which was much admired by all.
    5. Lovely sunny day.

5 Thoughts on going back to work tomorrow.......

    1. I love my little class. Rougues and all. This is our last term together before they leave or go into 6th form. I have to make the most of it because I will miss them so much. :A
    2. It will be nice to see all my colleagues again, and catch up on their news, and talk to adults again! :)
    3. We can reclaim the dining room once all my stuff goes back to school.
    4. It will be such a novelty not to have planes interrupting lessons every five minutes.
    5. I am looking forward to trying out some of the ideas that I have been thinking about over the hols. My managers may not wholly approve of my methods, but the kids seem to respond to my ideas for making maths interesting and exciting. :p So Boo to you Mr G! :p

Off to try to forget about it now and enjoy the last of the sunshine.:)

    Have a lovely day all.

hi everyone:) I am late in posting this but mine are:

1 put wet washing on clothes horse and in hot press as we have some rain today.
2 Had homemade bread for sandwiches at lunchtime.
3 another loaf on in breadmaker.
4 Writing a letter by hand to dear Auntie, which I shall post in morning using a postage stamp from another envelope which was not marked, so peeled off to use again:)
5 Reading the rest of my Billy Hopkins book bought second hand online and then knitting a sweater later tonight, after dinner cooked from scratch by my dh earlier today.
Do a little kindness every day.;)

    Afternoon all.

jexy - LOL at your poor chicken - I'm glad her flying experiments haven't hurt her!

My five (actually seven) for today:

    1) Had a very long lie-in this morning. I think my burst of activity yesterday wore me out as I woke up embarrassingly late!

    2) Sausage sarnie for breakfast. (I made the most of it as it's the last one for a while - I got a nasty shock when I stepped on the scales yesterday. Diet time, methinks. :()

    3) Discovered this morning that the freezer door hadn't quite shut when I got something out yesterday evening. The pleasure is that everything was still frozen, which was a great relief.

    4) Went to throw away some hostas which didn't grow last year, and found that two of the three are starting to sprout. I really thought they were dead, so that was a lovely surprise.

    5) Got some lettuce seeds in - hopefully they'll be more impressive than the other veggie seeds I've planted so far.

    6) Boiled bacon for dinner tonight - I'm hoping to rubber it to three dinners and a couple of rounds of sandwiches, although the joint's shrunk quite a bit so it might not go quite as far as I'd hoped.

    7) Used the liquid leftover from boiling the bacon to re-cook a bacon bone that's been in the freezer for a couple of months, to make a nice strong bacon stock for future meals.

Have a lovely afternoon/ evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

    Saturday
    1) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
    2) cuddles from dd
    3) visiting the park
    4) patting myself on the back for preparing for my interview
    5) receiving free 'dig in' seeds through the post
    6) finishing 'The Return' by Victoria Hislop and thinking how lucky we are not living in interesting times...

    My five+ for today:
    1) dp creeping out of bed this morning thinking I was asleep (he was off to work)
    2) cuddles from dd
    3) tidying dd's bedroom taking five minutes instead of the usual half an hour
    4) gardening bargains from Wilco's this afternoon including chicken poo!
    5) potting up the strawberry runners from last year, the container vegetable garden is starting to look good
    6) dd quizzing me about the 'dig in' seeds, and insisting on helping pot up the strawberry plants

    Evening all...

Don't worry Girlysquare, you are certainly not talking out of turn. G is such a wonderful person - I keep telling him that if I get to 40 and am still single that he will have to get the turkey baster out...

I have been feeling so well today, with only a slight pain in my side. I'm full of energy and have done loads of tidying in the flat and the garden. I mowed my lawn and then popped out and did my neighbours as well. She's a nice lady and only has a small patch of grass and no lawn mower...

    1) Feeling 99% better. I actually can't get over how well I am actually feeling :)

    2) Enjoyed the Grand Prix... made even better by the lovely Jenson winning

    3) Chatting to my mum on the phone.

    4) Getting into the sunshine - my garden at least looks presentable today.

    5) Lovely hot bath and soak this evening. I feel slightly prunish but it was lovely and decadent.

    Have a fantastic week everyone!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
