What a lovely evening!
Last propper day of the hols, so I really wanted it to be a nice day, and so far so good.:)
1. I didn't have to drive anyone anywhere this morning, so a bit of a lie in. (DH in London and DD too tired to go to swim training). Although I was woken by the neighbours slamming doors and Effing and Jeffing. (She has Bi polar disorder).
2. Breakfast in bed courtesey of me.
3. DS2 sitting in bed with me to do his Easter homework. (Better late than never!).
4. Trip to Redditch to collect GHD's won on Ebay. (Lady was lovely). Redditch is a blooming with blossom trees. DS2 and I had a lovely walk around the Country Park with the dog.
5. More seeds planted. However, not much luck with anything germinating at the moment:(. The salad leaves look like they will just keel over before they grow into propper leaves.
Could be another good sunset sparrer, uninterupted by plane vapour trails!
Happy Friday!
HE xXx0 -
1. 2 NSDs in a row (well yesterday I did spend money but technically I was only spending a refund for something I took back, so I'm counting it as a NSD, cheeky me!)
2. Drove up to get DD last night and she crept into my bed in the middle of the night for cuddles
3. Did a P!necone survey this morning so will be eagerly looking forward to spending the lunch vouchers when they turn up.
4. DD played with her little friend this evening, so has had a very late night but she's happy and we can have a bit of a lie-in tomorrow morning.
5. Did a Reverbe and found 4p whilst clearing stuff out of the car in anticipation of hopefully finding a car valeting place that can make it showroom friendly tomorrow for me - it's filthy, more inside than out, and I know that I can't make it sparkly like people who are paid to do it can, so will be spending tomorrow....
6. Whilst I feel sorry for people who are stranded/can't get to places they need to be, I'm really liking the fact that the skies are unsullied by airplanes at the moment. We live not too far from G*twick, and whilst we don't hear the planes very often, we do see them criss-crossing above the garden.
7. I enjoyed the sunset yesterday whilst driving to my parents.
8. DD came into the house and said how nice it was to be so tidy! Makes a change, and the hoover is sitting in the corner of the sitting room attempting to make me feel guilty that I've not plugged it in yet, lol...
9. Used the woodburner in the kitchen to make dinner for DD tonight, her fishfingers cooked beautifully, as did the spuds, and I made a pot of tomatoey vegetables to make into shepherdess pies for tomorrow and beyond. All that using free pinecones gathered last year and left over kindling from a few years ago. The house smells nice too.0 -
Evening everyone,
Mine for today:
1. Bacon Sandwich this morning, naughty but very nice
2. M&S £10 deal so have something to cook when get back Sunday night as I know OH won't remember to get something out of the freezer
3. Also bought the M&S £3 pasta deal (thanks Caterina for telling us about this one) so another couple of dinners sorted
4. Glass of wine with dinner
5. Getting my mum's birthday presents wrapped to take with me (save on posting). I know she will love them all and all bought at a bargain price:money:
Probably won't get chance to post until Monday now as going up North to collect DD first thing in the morning. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and hugs to those who need them0 -
5 for today!
1) Lovely weather once again. Even had to water my sunflower little plants, it hasn't rained for almost a week.
2) Boys played together well.
3) Lit the barbeque - a tiny fire, just enough to toast some marshmallows.
4) Used Mr S Basics cubed pork to make some kebabs. They were really quite nice, used some tomatoes and yellow pepper as well. Had them with cous cous etc.
5) We all enjoyed best bits of QI on television this evening.
That's about it! Very quiet day, haven't actually spoken to another adult since yesterday...

1. Getting up early, cleaning downstairs and opening the doors and windows. Can't have aerosols because of the copd and fresh air is free
2. Prepping a nice salmon salad lunch, most of which was whoopsied or on offer
3. A friend coming to mow the lawn, do all the borders and going with me to the tip where we got rid of all the garden waste and some other odds and ends that were waiting to be disposed of
4. Paying friend with lunch
5. Friend offering to come back in a fortnight to keep the grass down and do a general tidy. All a terrific relief as I was beginning to think about getting someone in but really can't afford it, and the thought of letting it go to ruin was very depressing. Also it was nice to have company for lunch
Night night, Sleep well

Morning all! The weekend is here - yippee!!!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Well, what an odd day at work. Turns out a couple of weeks ago I obviously had the mother of all senior moments - I typed up a message that referred to my plans to leave work and go travelling, intending to send it to my work colleague who knows what I'm up to. As she already knows, the message didn't refer directly to to my plans in any obvious way. I then had my senior moment and sent it to my boss instead of my colleague...:eek:and triple:eek:. He then forwarded to my other boss, who then sat on it for a couple of weeks because he didn't know what it meant and wasn't sure what to do about it. Yesterday he came and confronted me with it.... I really had no choice but to come clean and tell him that I plan to leave at the end of September. He was fine, really supportive and understanding, and everyone at work is thrilled for me. At least now I can be open about it all and I don't have to watch what I say anymore, so that is definitely a pleasure! And I did find the whole senior moment thing hilarious...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And my boss told me that I was an asset to the firm and that it was a pleasure to work with me - now he just doesn't say stuff like that, so I feel honoured!
2. Yummy savoury rice for tea.
3. New season NCIS on TV.
4. Reaching agreement with my brothers about the way forward with funding my mum's care home fees - hopefully things can move on now.
5. Organising some fun social events for next week.
See you all tomorrow - enjoy your Saturday, everyone!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -

Savingforoz - you poor thing! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That is something that I'd do! At least it is out of the way now. What a relief!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
I agree with Ladyhawk, savingforoz, a huge relief to be able to be open about your plans. I couldn't have kept it to myself for as long as you did and think your bosses are quite right to acknowledge how much you're valued0
-
savingforoz - I can imagine how  you felt when you realized what you had done, but glad it turned out well in the end!
I am feeling much more myself now than I did on thursday, yippee!
Here are my pleasures for yesterday:
- Feeling much better and my cold is almost gone.
- Getting 3 big loads of washing done and dried on the washing line
- 2nd friday in a row not having takeaway, making my own stir fry instead, yummy!
- Lovely sunny day and hearing the birds singing.
- Giving DD homemade mashed up food, rather than puree. It included frozen peas which she hadn't eaten before and she loved it all.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
Good evening all
Mine for today
1 A lie in
2 A lovely sunny day
3 Escaped from the kids for a few hours when I walked into town to get my nails done. Although I did want to cry on the way home as they looked really bad! I should have gone back but I couldnt be bothered and it was just the shape of the nails (meant to be square shape but they were all wonky from how they had been cut and not filed properly) that i had the problem with so when I got home I filed them myself and now they look really nice. Although they are driving me mad so might need to file them down a bit as too long!
4 Kids played in garden with the rabbit again. Ds2 chases him around but gets bored that he cant catch him so leaves him alone for a bit then the rabbit will go up to him to be chased around again! So cute!
5 Dd ate her tea again. Infact she asked for peas with tea and ate the lot!!! So that is 4 days in a row she has eaten all her tea! :T
Have a great evening all0
