    Good Evening all

Tealady - that sounds really nice. thank you. i think i may top my next batch with it (dh has some caramel eggs in the fridge still, will just have to hide a few from him!!! :p)

Shadowsfall - 5" heels  I dont think I could stand in them let alone walk!!! :D I totally agree that I should be wearing them (but bit concerned about my legs looking chunky!!!) and thanks Reverbe, I think I will put off wearing them for a week or 2 and try to tone my legs up and when that doesnt work, wear them anyway!!! Well, they are the first size 10 skinny jeans that i have fit into!!

wssla00 - thanks for the heads up on the ash. I dont have time to read papers and cant watch news as if tv is on kids are watching it or i am watching something on the tv drive and dont have radio on as then i wont be able to hear what kids are doing in other room!!! I will keep checking on the bbc website for news. Thanks again.

    Anyway my 5 for today.

1 A lie in. :j Dont you just love school holidays!!

2 Hoovered the house and even got the kids to tidy their rooms so I could hoover their floors

3 Cleaned the bathroom and master bedroom.

4 Got a fruit cake loaf thing soaking to stick in breadmaker on cake mode. Wonder if it will turn out ok!

5 EVERYONE ate ALL of their tea. Even dd. It was cottage pie and I cut the veg chunky instead of grating it like I usually do so I thought there was no hope of her eating it! I even cut up leftover cabbage and mashed it into the potato! :D

    Have a lovely evening everyone.
  • Evening all! Been very chilly here today - hope the sun hasn't decided to pack up again.
    Here are mine from today:

    1) Lost another 2 lbs!
    2) DS1 spent the whole day with a friend and now friend is staying the night here - so he's very happy (which makes me happy).
    3) Seeds from ebay came - spinach, purple spring onions and mini carrots. Got some of those sown today.
    4) DH made some chicken liver pate, which I had a wee taste of when it was in the blender - very yum, but I'm going to try really hard to stay away from it this evening for dietary reasons.
    5) DH and I worked as a team to tidy the house some more. Looking better now.

Good evening all, seems that everyone is enjoying the sunshine at the moment which is marvellous!!
    My 5 for today -
    - Had a lovely cuddle with the pup this morning, he was all sleepy and cuddly - getting so big though!

    - Kids at work took part in their charity event today, was great to see them all complete the 8 mile log run, and the cheers as they saw the cakes we had got ready for them at the end!

    - On my own this evening so just had some toast for tea...nice and simple.

    - NSD today, spent a blummin fortune yesterday on vets, diesel and food shop so it's niceknowing bank balance is having a rest today.

    - Just watching a gorgeous sunset.

Have a great Friday tomorrow all - hurrah for the weekend!!

    My five+ for today:
    1) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
    2) cuddles from dd this morning
    3) walking in the sunshine at lunchtime
    4) chatting to work colleague on the 'phone, he is always cheerful and is coming in tomorrow so the atmosphere in the office will move up a notch!
    5) dancing to dd's Hannah Montana Wii game
    6) dd dancing to her Hannah Montana game
    7) dp dancing to dd's Hannah Montana game

After listening to dd's Hannah Montana game for ages, I've decided that I really do like this song (this goes straight into Youtube) great lyrics!

Hi all, I missed one day and found loads of posts to catch up!

Ladyhawk, sorry to hear about your kidney infection and glad you are better.

CCP I hope your work issue is sorted out, people complain when they are frustrated about their own stuff and don't think how an unfair complain can affect someone's working life! (((HUGS)))

Shadowfall, I watched a bit of the Heston B. programme but could no longer watch whey they started poking out the wild boar's eyes  DH tells me that the edible house was lovely, though.

    Sparrer
, I hope you get well soon. Well done for finding a way of calling China for 1p (because of MSE I can call Italy for 1/2 p - brilliant!).

    Bella
, I also wish that gardening was as simple as Alys Fowler makes it out to be. Also I cannot warm to her, much as I like her garden. Just cannot stand her high-pitched girly voice, maybe because I am a low-pitched grumpy-old-bat-voiced grumpy old bat :rotfl:

    Reverbe
, good to see you back around and posting!

Blimus, well done on weight loss, can I pinch you so maybe it rubs off on me?

OLLIE WHERE ARE YOU? We all miss you!!!

Here is an assorted array of pleasures from the last couple of days:

1 - Breakfast in bed, courtesy of DS!

2 - Chiropodist visit (expensive but gets refunded in full by insurance) - now my feet no longer look like a werewolf's!

3 - Leg wax in the local barber shop where the barber's wife is a beautician, got a very good deal and it was almost painless.

4 - Second DVD with two more episodes of Life on Mars, watched it with DH last night. Gene genie!

5 - Good night sleep and woke up this morning feeling refreshed and much better than yesterday.

    6 - Good weather, again!

7 - Washing dried on the line in 2 hours flat!

8 - Started decluttering the bathroom, filled a rubbish bin liner with old bottles and various pieces of junk from years past.

9 - Lunch with LilacLillie, the usual lovely super-cheap fish and chips (small portion, so also feeling virtuous re. calories!).

10 - DD made dinner, the lovely M&S Italian deal for £3 (times 2 as we were 7 today). Pappardelle with pesto and (separate to deal) a lovely mixed salad. Pudding: fresh pineapple slice and a pot of chocolate soya custard (courtesy of DD).

11 - Applied for another job, fairly local and very well paid (10 hours per week) Cross fingers!

    Good night everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening Everyone,

Caterina - Good luck with the job application
Nuttybabe - If you are fitting into size 10 skinny jeans I don't think you need to worry. I bet you look fab in them.
Ladyhawk - Glad you are starting to feel better
Sparrer - Hope you feel better soon and your friend's op makes him more comfortable.

    Mine for today:
    1. Toasted crumpets for breakfast, yummy
    2. Taking a lunch break today and leaving work on time. First time this week either has happened
    3. Using the rail vouchers sent to me to book my train tickets to collect DD this weekend so journey only cost £1.60 in cash:T
    4. Fil birthday today so cake at their house. Catching up with Mil and Sil.
    5. Not OS but fish & Chips for dinner as late getting back from in-laws and couldn't be bothered to cook.

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening Everyone,

Bella - Thanks for telling me the Edible Garden is in Kings Heath. I can stop fretting about it now! Good job I didn't have money on it, I would have bet on Harborne!! :o

Shadowsfall - Glad the doglet liked the cheesy biscuits. If my dog was listing 5 OS pleasures they would definitely be in there along with walks, hugs from anyone, food, bread and stealing bread from the birds:rotfl:

GirlySquare - Thanks for the linky to HM. Great lyrics. Me and DD (17 next week), both like HM. Apparently she wasn't much good at singing live when she was at LG Arena though.

    5 for Today

    1. Won GHD's on Ebay. Collecting tomorrow. Hope they are genuine.
    2. Making origami seed pots out of newspaper. DS2 supposed to be helping, but better at supervising.;)
    3. DS2 enjoyed his swimming lesson today. Saw another mum from school, so bonus chat. :)
    4. Walk in the park with DS2 and doggie. On dog walking duty as DH in London.
    5. Allowed to type in bed cos DH in London. (No internet though cos I may have mentioned that $ky internet is rubbish ).

    5 for today!

    1) Had a bit of a lie in.

    2) Met one of my college friends at the local forest. Had a lovely walk and my sons got on well with her children to the point that bigger son has been invited to her son's birthday party!

    3) Friend and children came back here for an impromptu (how on earth do you spell that?!) lunch. Normally I get thrown by that sort of thing (like socialising) but rustled up some tuna sandwiches and egg mayo sandwiches and had some nice grapes in the fridge.

    4) Got £240 back from NPower. Still waiting for an apology for the £1200 they took out of my bank in error and reimbursement of the resulting bank charges... but its a start.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    6) Left baked potatoes in the oven whilst swimming and had them with cheese, some of yesterday's pasta salad, avocado etc closely followed by fresh pineapple.

    7) Boys watched the recent Herbie film on iplayer in my bed and I could hear them laughing from downstairs!

    4. Two lovely friends came and took me out for a Chinese this evening
    5. The sunset - it was so beautiful it made me want to cry. We sat in the car and looked at it for ages :)

Lady Hawk - that video of the cat... how funny! Thanks for posting. Tad sad coz I'm sure my cat wouldn't 'lower' herself to such amusing behaviour... she's a cool one :cool2: be hilarious though. Not sure I'd be happy her scratching up a new iPad though!!

Caterina - well done on the 11!! Nice one. I quite fancy a session with my beauty therapist... haven't been for so long since I moved jobs. Boo.

Nuttybabe - It's only a case of practice should you be inclined to delve into the realm of 5"! I have a small (massive) like (fetish) for very high heels :heart2: That's one of my biggest pleasures, buying shoes! OH has added to his perfection by confirming the building (by himself - chippy) of a shoe carosel in our place (when we get it). "Well you might as well have them on display..." Oh me, oh my :D

House Elf - that's an amusing thought... doggie pleasures of the day. Reckon Doglet's would include: 1) Stealing Cat's biscuits while no one is looking but Cat. 2) Poking Cat with nose when I know she's asleep. 3) Barking and jumping outside kitchen window while anyone is washing up to let them know (politely) that I should like to come in now. 4) Checking that the river still smells like poo by jumping in it, then notifying anyone that indeed it still does by shaking inside the house. 5) Non-discriminate feet biting.

    Now for mine:

    1. It's Friday!! Woo hoo!
    2. I am excited about spending the day tomorrow gardening (finally), project organising, car cleaning and cooking for hungry Father and OH while they work together building our new little barn.
    3. The thought that Father and OH get on so well, and OH calls him FIL already... :rotfl: (We've not been together 6 months yet!)
    4. Knowing that I am saving much more money that I was a week ago thanks to my Saving Diary and the support that people are offering on here - thank you very much!
    5. Getting posts from lovely people on my Spending Diary! So cool.
    6. OH making me laugh by asking "are you sponsored by Super Dry now?" because I was wearing a hoody and jogging bottoms together
    7. Composer friend has used a set of my lyrics on a new album. Very pleased to finally be doing something significant with my writing! Big YAY.
    8. Reading through all your posts on here - some really good people on this thread, pleasure to get to know you all.
    9. Should be a productive yet easy work day today :)
    10. Having 10 pleasures today! Wicked stuff.

Apps for the long post - good day today though!

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and everyone who isn't feeling quite so chirpy feels better soon
