Welcome back Reverbe0

Morning all, hope you are all well.
Yesterday I went into town on my own for a wander round and window shopped. I am planning to go back next week with more cash to get a few nice things that I saw. I was thinking about the last time I went there on my own and it was about 6 years ago!
Anyway, here are mine for yesterday:
- Inlaws took DD out for the day to the docks and farmers market and they brought me back lots of free foodie mags to drool over.
- Bought 7 books for £9 in a cheap book shop for holiday and for DDs ever expanding library!
- Rediscovered Wilkinsons and Primark. I hadn't been to a Primark in years, but I am going back to buy some long tshirts and joggers/shorts for holiday or "round the house" clothes. Wilkinsons had 2 packs of face cleanser wipes for 97p, bargain!
- Met DH for lunch, ok not very OS, but lovely all the same.
- Came home and prepared (boned, stuffed and rolled) a breast of lamb myself. I feel a great sense of satisfaction doing it myself, rather than getting the butcher to do it for me, also you can use the bones as a trivet for cooking the lamb too.
- Free samples of moisturiser being given away in town.
- Found the perfect childrens sunglasses for DD in Boots that have a elastic strap around the head instead of arms. They will be perfect when travelling in the car as the sun blinds are NEVER in the right place!
Feeling a bit under the weather today, a mixture of a cold and an arthritis flare up (I think I over did the walking yesterday), So will be taking things very easy today.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Evening all
wssla00 - Must be terrible not wanting to go anywhere incase you get allergic to anything. I am also allergic to alot of things and have recently got worse. Yesterday when I cleaned behind sofas my eyes swelled up! And my asthma has been bad since! I will have to go to doctors about it if that continues. Also my sister has been told she is allergic to everything, mildly! She has been told it worse as she gets older!
Aah you get used to it! I would deffo see the doc if it is hurting your asthma! I certainly have seen an increase in my allergies since I was young.... hoping it wont get any worse!
Have you seen the volcanic ash that has grounded all the flights? There is implications for us asthmatics on the asthma uk website. Basically keep your releiver with you at all time and keep a close eye on the telly as it might be avised later for us lot to stay in with the windows closed!
I have been lazing all day so not really got my brain in for pleasures yet.... will do some later
Have a good day all!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Been AWOL again I'm afraid my friends, due to being away and also being ill (Better now:)) Hope you are all well and I will try to get thru some of the posts. My 5 recent blessings.
1) Feeling better after 10 days of not feeling well, but it was a good excuse to hit the lemon, honey and brandy:)
2) Finding lots of lovely things growing in my raised veggie beds and greenhouse, couldn't venture out there for 10 days and it's amazing what has grown.
3) Have enjoyed a lovely break away with DH I feel so lucky. Went to a lovely Italian market (in this country) and it was amazing.
4) Feel quite relieved today that this Ash Cloud from Iceland is not expected to make us ill. Was slightly worried that I would be coughing again after just getting better.
5) Off to visit my DM bless her and also my DMiL tonight bless her as well. I would love to visit more often usually manage about 2/3 a week, but there is just not enough hours in my short day. Do not know what I find to do with myself, but there never seems enough time for everything.
6) Sorry and extra one, DH received his 25 year long service award this week. I feel so proud of him and thankful to his employer that he has been able to stay in work for this long, through good and bad times.
Take care everyone.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Bad me! I say I'm going to get back into writing pleasures everyday, then real life comes and takes over. How rude of it.
1. It is a beautiful sunny day and has been like this for 4 days and counting! I could get used to this.
2. A pleasure for yesterday - but enjoying driving through the country roads in the sunshine with the radio playing loudly.
3. Not exactly OS, but my car passed it's MOT today with flying colours!I was a little bit concerned that it wouldn't, thanks to getting my father's pessimistic gene.
4. Whilst sat waiting for my car to have it's MOT done, I sat in the sunshine and read my former tutor's autobiography. Fabulous read. A treat that I don't get to indulge in very often.
5. Finding renewed motivation for losing weight and being healthier in general. So I am going to go and hop onto the OS Weight Loss Thread. Right now!
6. And aside from the essential MOT, a NSD.
Hope everyone else is having a fabulous day and that life in general is treating you well!

1. Sunny weather againWhoop whoop
2. Fresh clean cotton bed linen on my bed
3. The flowers and the plants growing so well
4. One for yesterday watching the kitchen gardener
5. Another for yesterday YS bouquet of roses for 25p last night in my wander to asda after the pollen had subsided. They look lovely in my tin tankard!
May defrost some chinese takeaway from last week for dinner so might have another pleasure later on
Enjoy the day allFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Good afternoon all. Hope you're all well, especially now we now all that volcanic dust won't cause health problems. (I though of you when I saw that announcement, wssla00 - as if you don't have enough problems without volcanoes complicating matters!)
sparrer - best wishes to your friend for his surgery visit. I hope you get over your chest infection quickly, too.
savingforoz - you're better than me at finding five pleasures after a lousy day - you may have noticed I've given up a couple of times recently.Must try harder!
Reverbe - it's lovely to see you back and posting. Did you manage to get your computer fixed in the end?
My five for today:
1) It was warm enough in the office today that I was able to roll up the sleeves of my fleecy shirt. It's not a cold office - everyone else was in t-shirts - but I'm such a chilly person that rolled-up sleeves is the equivalent of sunbathing for me.
2) Not very OS, but I treated myself to a M&S Mexican bean wrap for lunch. It's the one shop-bought sandwich I haven't managed to recreate at home - a great pity as it's delish!
3) My flower seeds are growing like nobody's business - I'm going to have to pot on the nasturtiums at the weekend as, less than a week after germinating, they're outgrowing their little seed pots.
4) Told my mum about the M&S £10 meal offer, and apparently my dad is to be dispatched in search of cheap mussels and chips.(I don't care for the things myself, but they're my mum's favourite.
)
5) Got my free BBC seeds in the post today, so I'll set some more veg seeds growing (or, more accurately, not growing, as it stands at the moment) this weekend.
Have a lovely, volcano-free evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
I am much perkier today!Hurrah!
1) Feeling like I am human again.. well almost!
2) Finished a good book this afternoon
3) Smoked salmon for supper - it all I really had in the fridge...
4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9NP-AeKX40&feature=player_embedded
5) nougat... again...Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Hi All - Glad to see everyone is finding pleasure in the spring sunshine with all the seeds growing. I have taken the bubble wrap off my greenhouse (winter insulation) and have planted up the hanging baskets (although they are still in the g/house until they grow lots more).
So here are my 5 for today
1. Managed to set up the new wifi network (with help from a very nice man on the $ky helpline)
2. Sorted out some paperwork
3. Laughing at a "recreating the 1980's programme" on tv - they are all laughing at the stuff and here I am surrounded by the same stuff!
4. Nice cuppa coffee with my neighbour - putting the world to rights
5. Spoke to very nice lady at the Advanced Drivers group (trying to organise some practice at driving a campervan sized vehicle in preparation for getting one...)
