Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Good morning all.

I've just popped in to say thank you all for your kind comments - you're angels, all of you. :A

I'm feeling rather cheerfuller this morning, despite spending yesterday evening without the forum - my home PC has taken a dislike to the MSE site, for some reason, and freezes every time I try to read or post (it's fine with other sites, though, which is rather odd).

I can even add another pleasure from yesterday:

    6) my next door neighbours had the first BBQ of the year. OK, it filled my flat (and probably theirs as well) with smoke - I think the charcoal might have been a bit damp - but it smelt so good!

wogglemaker - I'm glad you're more-or-less OK after your flare up.

Tealady - that was a lucky find on the bus, and WD on your vouchers - it's always nice when companies accept that they were in the wrong and try to do something to make up for it.

bunny too - I haven't had HM coleslaw in ages - I'll have to try making some again soon. Thanks very much for mentioning it. :T

nuttybabe - congrats to your DH on his vouchers - that sounds like a really good system for rewarding people.

GirlySquare - good luck with your interview.

Have a lovely day, all - I'll pop in during the day to keep an eye on everyone's pleasures (I can do so at work as my work PC has no problem with this website... ;))
Back after a very long break!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. OH mended our 10 yr old television so no need to buy a new one yet

    2. Following flylady again I now have a clean livingroom

    3. Went 'treasure' hunting and discovered the black tomato pots and compost I was about to buy I already had in the greenhouse and shed. Also found some green rubbish bags that will make great liners for the hanging baskets

    4. Got a set of 3 round wicker boxes from the charity shop for 95p

    5. About half of last night's tea was leftovers

I wonder what OS pleasures I will get today.......
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • Hello everybody!

Hope you are all having a nice Wednesday. :j

Note to CCP, I know what you mean about knowing that someone felt that way to complain. It isn't nice. I'm guessing by the sounds of your job though that it's not a personal thing..? Hope you feel better about it soon.

Cheers for the PM Savingforoz. Can't wait to try the recipe.

My five for today shall be:

    1. Putting some gradual tan on this morning - always feels like you're slightly ahead of the game somehow!
    2. Getting through the massive fruitbowl on my desk (as previously mentioned)... great to know that I can reach over and eat anything in it in large quantities and it's actually good for me!
    3. Finding that the hoody my OH bought me for Xmas seems to fit me now... it was a 'medium' from my favourite brand. Medium meaning teeny weeny of course. So I'm pleased I'm in it! Bl**dy Japanese sizing!
    4. Finally getting my mits on the OHs bank details... not to nick any dosh, but to organise it all!! Ah... I'm a weird one.
    5. Seeing my mate after work for an early dinner (quite :money:due to a BOGOF voucher - only cost us £10 each in a rather snazzy place). I wouln't normally spend on dinner out during the week, she really needed a chat though and my tummy was rumbling!

Looking forward to catching up with all the other pleasures to come. Off to My First Spending Diary now!

    Hi Peeps,

Anyone thinking of trying the dog biscuits, please let me know how they taste. They smell nice, but I have never felt the need to try them:rotfl:

Had a rather wasted morning looking for the cheapest GHD straightners I can find, for DD's birthday. I know in my heart that I'm not going to get much of a discount, but can't stop looking:mad: Managed to peel myself away from the laptop long enough to do a bit of gardening, but magnetically drawn back to the screen. :(

    My OS Pleasures for Yesterday

    1. Trip into town to buy birthday cards for DH and uncle using WHSmith voucher. Got a few reduced bits in the clearance section, but SA wouldn't let me use another voucher on them. Good little bargains for the present box though, so will get over it!
    2. Dropped off a couple of bags of rubbish at the tip on the way back from dropping DD at work. Decluttering the garden at last!
    3. Trip to MrM when I dropped DD at Swimming later. (I am her own personal taxi driver, but still she does not appreciate me :( Teenagers ) Anyway, lots of YS and 3for1 bargains, so cupboards full for a few hours until DS1 wakes up:rotfl:
    4. Hestons Fairytail Feast
    5. Hugs from DS2 and the dog getting jealous:rotfl:

Just waiting for the sun to come out to carryon in the garden.
Hope it's sunny where you are. HE x

Must say, most of this scared me a tad! Liked the edible house though! Might try that for a party one time...

    Hi all :)

Wogglemaker- hope you are feeling better
house elf- teenagers dont appreciate anything lol it's in their development- really its something about their frontal lobes growing or something.... dont tell a teenager that though they will just shout! But they can't help it.
girlsquare- good luck with the interview.

Here are mine for the last couple of days...
    1. Got my results back from my consultant. Well this isn't a pleasure but I will explain. when they test for an allergy.....they work out how many times they need to dilute the blood before it reacts to the allergen.... well they stop counting at 100 and on the ones they did for me they all had to stop counting.... so i now have to be a bit wary about where I go and what I do... especially as I tested positive for pollen and dust mites- I could have told them the pollen but didn't think the dust mites..... I have been wet dusting today like they said and my eyes are streaming so maybe they are true! I think this might be a losing battle for the dustmites.... The positive in this is at least they can see something is wrong as sometimes I feel a bit of a fraud when I'm ok then suddenly go downhill so now I know why that is...! And the nurse seems more interested in my case now it's a bit unusual.... isn't it a shame that it takes something like that to be interesting...?
    2. Sorting out my dining room and making it look lovely
    3. Line drying my clothes- I know....pollen! But it's that or the dusty tumble dryer.......so lesser of two evils
    4. a lovely dinner last night of leftover steak and ale stew which was really frugal and lovely :)
    5. Seeing some lovely bird action in my garden!

    Enjoy the day all :)

  • Hi all,
Hope you're all having a pleasurable day?

wssla00 - glad your scan went okay and that your results made things a bit clearer, even if they were unusual!
Ladyhawk - hope you're feeling better soon.
CCP - (((hugs))) for you after your horrible day. Complaints are often made by people who have lost control somewhere else in their lives and need to lash out wherever they can in order to feel in control again. It's terribly unfair on the people who they take it out on. And it's easy for me to say 'try not to worry or be upset about it' but I do hope that you can keep positive, and as Ladyhawk said, this will pass.
Nuttybabe - congrats to your DH's £50 vouchers for the 'shout'. Made me chuckle thinking that if I could get £50 for every shout I did...
vivw - well done on your OH mending your tv. I thought we were the only ones who don't have a super ginormous flat screen tv! Ours still works, so it's doing it's job!

So here are mine from yesterday:
    1) Another NSD
    2) Had a fun couple of hours on the beach before the sea mist rolled in and made everything really cold!
    3) House elf - Heston's Fairytale Feast was excellent, wasn't it? The man's a genius!
    4) Used the LO chicken for a HM sweet chilli chicken pizza. Yumbly!
    5) Doing a Brazilian work-out with DS2. That boy's got some moves!
