    Afternoon all.

Ladyhawk - I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy at the moment. I hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better soon.

I'm feeling rather :( this afternoon after a not-good day at work - I've had a complaint made about me that has left me feeling... well, :(, despite my colleague's attempts to reassure me. (Due to the nature of his job he's had loads of complaints made about him, none of which has ever been upheld, so he's in a good position to be reassuring. It's not nice to have someone so angry and upset at me that they want to complain, though, even if I know the complainant's wrong. smiley-sad010.gif) Shortly afterwards I found what seems to be a nasty case of corporate oversight that I just know is going to come back and bite me, as I was the one who found it. Definitely not a good day!

Anyway, let's try for five nice things:

    1) Another collegue told me my new haircut was 'all swooshy'. I'm not sure precisely what that means, but it was definitely a compliment. :)

    2) Had a lunch of sandwiches made from my loaf of 50p bread flour, and it's one of the tastiest loaves of bread I've made in ages.

    3) One of my tomato seeds has finally germinated - I hope it drops some hints to the other veg seeds that they really need to get on with it!

    4) I'm treating myself to a glass of the lovely ginger beer I got on special offer a few weeks ago, to console myself after today at work.

    5) Bacon and mushrooms for dinner, with some of the bean stew left over from last night's dinner - very OS. :)

I look forward to reading everyone else's pleasures for today to cheer me up a bit. Have a nice evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

CCP - hugs to you! Hope it all works out for the best. Remember "and this too will pass..."

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening all

    Mine for today

1 Up earlier than the kids so I had 20 mins peace with my cup of tea before the madness started! :rotfl:

2 Cleaned the living room (and behind the sofas) and the dinning room. Even got the kids cleaning the sofas for me. :T

3 Dh got a prize of £50 in vouchers in work for 'shouts'. When they do a good job a colleague can give them a 'shout' and it appears dh has won for the month. :j He deserves it, he does work very hard. Still working now!!

4 Doctor has finally agreed that ds2 has asthma (and thats whats been causing all the chest infections), he will have an asthma review next week after this chest infection clears up and they will sort out his inhalers.

5 Bread making in the breadmaker for breakfast tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Tealady - *shudder* / lol at the thought of having an OH....it was me, all me, being a lovely lucky single mummy that won me the vouchers, lol. I'm off dating, happy being single now (probably means I'll meet the man of my dreams tomorrow, ha ha ha)

    1. A NSD, yippee!

    2. The sun shining again, keeping my spirits up.

    3. Swam again this morning, yippee!!

    4. Had "fun" test driving new cars, not sure what I'm looking for though, but now have a couple of models that are definite no's

    5. Lovely if rather brief chats with DD, we both felt a bit sad when she told me how much she was missing me this evening but I will see her in 2 days, so not too long. Really glad I said no to the idea of her being taken on holiday for 2 weeks, it would be far too long at the moment. Can't wait for her to be back home :)
