Morning All
Deja vu, thanks to our intermittent $ky internet
I was up before the birds this morning to see DD off to Bristol. She is very excited as she is going to the 'Skins' audition with a couple of friends from college. I decided not to go back to bed to listen to DH snoring, so stayed snuggled up on the sofa listening to the dog snoring instead...... Composed a carefully crafted, witty and amusing reply to the thread which disappeared into the ether , so you'll have to make do with the mark II version instead
Sparrer - Sorry to hear about your friend. We will all send positive thoughts to you both.
Nuttybabe and Kittykins well done on your wins, I hope your luck rubs off on all of us! :j
Saturday.
1. Uneventful trip to see DM. She was happy to go on a drive out to Southport. Although, a bit boring as she can't walk very far, so we didn't do anything other than go for a cup of tea and piece of cake.
2. IKEA for tea on the way home. Meatballs yum!
3. Found two umbrellas in a bin at IKEA. Don't usually rummage in bins, but they were sticking out.
4. Wore my newly dyed top and had nice compliments from DH and DM.
5. Dozed in the car instead of doing school work.
Sunday
1. Nearly finished digging the veg plot.
2. Made Weetabix brownies.
3. Invited friends for Chinese takeaway and HM apple pie.
4. Used apple cores and peel to make HM dog biscuits. Happy doggie.
5. Watching the Robbins flitting across the veg patch in the sunshine.
Have a great day! Especially everyone who is back to work after the hols.
(I have another week, but feel anxious already!:o)0 -
sparrer - sending positive thoughts to you and your friend. That's terribly sad news.
House elf - everything crossed in hope that your DD gets the part in 'skins'. How exciting for her!
Here are mine from yesterday:
1) After the hugely disappointing Frumenty - I mixed some raisins, canderel, cinammon and a weensy bit of brown sugar in with some good old oat porridge and it was absolutely gorgeous. Just what I had expected Frumenty to taste like.
2) Sunny but with quite a chilly wind here on the coast, but was very warm in the city centre. Time for shades!
3) Very kind neighbours has now sorted our water tank problem (after three days of trying different things, so I'm so thankful to him).
4) Took DS1 into town for his Warhammer club. Had a wander around before all the shops shut and then sat in the car reading - quite enjoyed the solitude.
5) Did lots of sorting and tidying and have found a huge stack of things to go on ebay.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Hello,
Hope you are all having a nice day.
My five for today are:
1. Had a tricky thing to do at work this morning and thought it might take all day - it all got sorted by lunchtime so I'm rather pleased.
2. Catching up on my planning and organising... which always makes me feel great. I think I may be a bit of a nerd!
3. Ate wheat yesterday and today I actually feel alright (been off it pretty strictly since Feb due to feeling pants), so this means that I am tolerantish... yay!
4. All alone in the office today so I can get through my work without any distractions, albeit very quiet!
5. Going back to OHs tonight from work, looking forward to seeing him.
Funny how just listing 5 happy things makes you feel good, isn't it? Simple to do too. As I've said before, great thread.

Afternoon all.
sparrer - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts are with you and him both (if you'll pardon the dreaful bit of English!)
Nuttybabe and Kittykins - congratulations to you both on your wins.
I have one late pleasure from yesterday:
6) Portsmouth FC are in the FA Cup final.
Today has been a typical miserable Monday, though, so I might struggle to find five for today:
1) Had my appraisal at work, which concluded I've successfully done my job for the past 12 months, and that my objectives for the next 12 months should be to continue to do my job. (You might rightly conclude that I think the whole thing's a bit of a waste of time - so does my appraiser, which might explain why it's taken us two and a half months to get round to doing it.)
2) Dead-headed some tulips and daffodils, so the garden is looking rather tidier, if somewhat less colourful.
3) I've made (or rather am currently making) a loaf of bread using RTC flour, which I got for 50p.
4) I've put together my mealplan for next week - it's a bit of a relief as I've been struggling for ideas recently, even with help from the weekly mealplan thread.
5) After a hectic weekend I'm looking forward to curling up on the sofa this evening with the book my sister lent me.
I did get five!Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all, from a Ladyhawk who is feeling decidedly sorry for herself.
After the excesses on Friday night I decided to go for a repeat performance on Saturday night... and I am still paying the priceI didn't get out of bed yesterday and wish I could have stayed tucked up in bed today. All because it was my brother's birthday and we went to a fabulous 20's club in London.
Not sure if I can find 5 today.
1) leaving work at 4.30pm
2) having a gorgeous cinnamon twist from M&S for breakie/ lunch.
3) Seeing my oldest brother (he of the birthday party) to pick up some stuff that I left at his house. He is also feeling ropey.
4) Email from a friend arranging dinner (not drinks as I am never drinking again...) for a couple of weeks time
5) I have just requested payment of £50 in John Lewis vouchers from Value Opinions.com... WoooHOO! They will go towards my Kenwood chef...
There we go... 5 little pleasures... that's what life is about.
Have a lovely evening everyone... please enjoy it for me as I will be tucked under the duvet for the rest of the evening.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
