Hi all, hugs to all who need or want them.

Was feeling very blue after the news on my car. It's been a tough 12 months.

    So pleasures from Thursday:-

    1. Sunshine
    2. Leaving my phone at home and going for a walk
    3. Walking along the coastal path with the cliffs and the sea
    4. Carrying on walking.
    5. Seeing bunnies :D
    6. Being able to catch the bus home for just £2 (having walking 9 miles!).
    7. Hearing that the job interview I went for liked me but don't want me (too much experience and they don't think I'll stay once the job market picks up - I think they were fairly correct in their assumption so won't argue ;))

    Friday
    1. Not aching as much as I thought I would
    2. Popping over to see my mum
    3. OH being in a better mood with me (having told him I'm not coping with all this stress etc).
    4. Beef stew and dumplings for tea.
    5. Managing to book a sainsbug shop for Sat as I couldn't be bothered to go shopping!

    Saturday:
    1. Sunshine
    2. Car hunting
    3. HPI checks are cheaper than the last time we were car hunting
    4. The car we really liked (but would drink petrol, has high tax, high insurance etc) was sold so the decision was taken out of our hands.
    5. Our car hasn't collapsed and died yet.
    6. Slept well both thurs night and friday night after all that walking.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

  • Very brief tonight as I'm so tired after a busy day:

    1) A lovely sunny day. We all have slightly pink cheeks from the sun!
    2) We did a car boot sale where we sold lots of the boys old toys but bought lots of goodies too.
    3) Our water tank is still giving us problems but our very kind neighbour is helping us out. Very thankful that we didn't have to call a plumber as it would've cost an absolute bomb.
    4) DS2 making us laugh loads this evening.
    5) Looking forward to getting into bed with a good book.

    What a sunny day! Here's my 5:

    1) Smaller son VERY difficult today, nagging, arguing, swearing, quite aggressive. But I survived and bigger son tried to keep out of his way and not wind him up.

    2) Did a bit more in the garden. Emptied the sand out of the paddling pool as it was getting a bit smelly and green and put some water in for the boys.

    3) Lots of post including a letter about smaller son getting to the top of the waiting list to see the CASBAT people (something like child social behaviour team, can never remember what it stands for). Also a letter out of the blue from the Royal Ortho for me saying I have an appointment to have an MRI on my neck????? Which has never been mentioned before. As far as I'm concerned all the nerve damage in my hand is due to breaking my arm so badly (got less than 20% of the movement I should have). Still, it could be interesting.

    4) Had a lift to the nearest little market town from my mum and the boys liked seeing a different playground and played non-stop for well over an hour!

    5) Dr Who.

Only downside from today was waking up to find a rather rudely de-faced "for sale" sign in my front garden... Thought something like this might happen as it was the ex's birthday yesterday. There is usually trouble on that day and on what would be our wedding anniversary!

Good news for tomorrow is that the boys are staying at my sister's overnight and are looking forward to it! It'll be the first night with no boys I have had since Feb 2009, don't know if I'll sleep without their sleep talking!

    yawwwwwwwwwwnnnn!!!
Well the day began with yet another staff member phoning in to quit... 5 weeks ago i had a pleasure that we had interviewed for 2 days and got the makings of a great team... famous last words! when we stress how hard work it is, their idea of hard work isnt quite the same as ours! Im convinced they just think "its taking meals to tables, how hard can it be" As a result, I started at 8am and just finished! We had a wedding party and all sorts, BUT See my pleasures!

    1) MY wonderful wonderful staff (more like family) Gosia also started at 8 but was supposed to finish at 4. She did, but then came back for a few hours to help me tonight as we knew it would be busy. The wonderful "H" who without question changed her shift with 2 hours notice when we asked her to!
And again the wonderful Gosia who has just come and insisted she does an extra couple of hours in the morning to cover me so that I can have a lay in and do the original planned shift I should have been on!
Its times like these when you realise how lucky you are to have long term people that care about you and also the customers.
Also my lovely commis who has supported OH so much during our swap in roles and the new KP is a dream! There have been 6 of us on all day basically including kitchen, restaurant and bar, and it went without a hitch!

    2) we interviewed a lady this afternoon, to replace the one that left this morning, she seems really nice and conscientious so please everyone cross everything! I need a day off soon!

    3) The girlies. I havent had much time for them today but it was a stunning sunny day and they loved it! I took recycling out, and caught sight of them having a lovely "bath" in the sunshine! Made me smile :)

    4) it has been such stunning weather! It was lovely to see people sitting outside again without freezing! And the loch just looked wonderful all day, so whenever I caught a glance I was grateful :)

    5) Being out front and seeing peoples reactions (the regulars)! They havent really seen me for so long apart for passing glimpses, and they have been so lovely saying how nice it is to meet the new staff member LOL! They also said how much weight I had lost, but I think thats down to baggy chef whites, versus black trousers and black work tee shirt! As i said yesterday though about the novelty of a "new job" after today its already wearing off!

Thats it for me, now I have sat down though, I am not convinced I can move to my bed, so I might just stay here lol!

If you see ruiwohfnhfounhfuowhwghoghgerhoqqwpjkdla dont worry, its my head hitting the keyboard as I fall asleep :D:D:D

    Hugs all round

Acey, sorry to hear about the defaced "for sale" sign - aren't some people petty and vindictive?

Just a quick visit as I'm off to the gym soon. My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Beautiful sunny day here in Bristol. No jacket required! It was so nice to sit out in the sun by the docks here in Bristol in just a T-shirt and jeans.

    2. Yummy, cheap and filling lunch of felafel, eaten whilst sat by the dock area here in Bristol. Felafel King is something of an institution here in Bristol - a small snack shack down by the docks that turns out the best felafels ever!

    3. And more yummy food in the evening - out for a cheap and delicious curry at my local curry house. £10 for starter and main course!

    4. Unleashing my inner domestic goddess and making rolls and yoghurt.

    5. Using our fantastic free library service to borrow some books - got one on Ecuador to read up on for when I go there next year, and a good fiction novel.

    Have a good day, everyone!
