Me too Ladyhawk, I lived/worked in Letchworth but moved 6 miles up the road into Beds when I retired and love it here :)
Thank you Caterina.. I was born and raised in London for my first 5 years, so it's really good to hear about life there first hand

    1. Called in to Mr M on my way home last night and picked up 2 swedes, a big bag of carrots, a bag of spring greens, a bag of red onions, a pack of 6 tomatoes, a head of celery and 4 packs of 4 hot cross buns - all whoopsied down to 9p each! This morning was peeling, chopping, slicing, blanching and freezing, and the peelings made a lovely rich veggie stock :j
    2. A friend came in for coffee this morning and we demolished one of the packs of hot cross buns :o
    3. Postie brought a new type of comb which strips out the undercoat. Tried two strokes of the comb on one of the mogs and had fur everywhere! Definitely one to be used outside which I'll do in the morning on all three pets. At last, a comb that might save me from being smothered in pet hair :T
    4. Had a siesta this afternoon and woke in time to catch the beginning of Rosemary and Thyme
5.The sunshine. It makes everything and everybody seem so much more cheerful :)

    Night night(((everybody))) sleep tight

    Good Morning Everyone,
Another glorious sunshine filled blue sky day here. Yippee. Its like a totally free, harmless drug (if you remember to screen out the UV rays)
Sorry to hear about the aches and pains - wssla00 you take care of yourself and ditto Bella - dont be knocking yourself out.
Anyone know where Ollie and Jexy are? Just love the energy in their posts.
    OK mine from yesterday
    1. Sunshine+gardening+birdsong+freshair
    2. Seeing our allotment-sized vegetable garden nearly all planted up with neat rows of peas, onions, potatoes, and bed ready for runner beans. Each row with its label - the next 2 months are my absolute favourite as everything grows and grows.
    3. Anticipation of visit to DS DDIL and DGKs at the weekend
    4. Made jam from frozen fruit from last years harvest - yummy. Am trying to eat down the freezers in readiness for this year so had to jam the rest of the rasps and blackcurrants. I still have lbs and lbs of redcurrants but dont quite know what to do with them ... roast lamb accompanyment yes but we have loads more than that.
    5. I / We have a lovely life. We live in a gorgeous place, in the country, have a safe, warm house thats plenty big enough for the 2 of us, big garden, 2 dogs, 5 hens, great neighbours who would do anything to help us/each other. I am fit and well (have glasses to correct my vision). So much to be grateful for.

Enjoy your day all - especially those of you who are on Easter hols from SCHOOL- been there, got the tee-shirt (scars?)

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Lovely sunny day here in Bristol - driving home and seeing the spring flowers along the way.

    2. Yummy evening meal made from odds and ends in the fridge. Worked surprisingly well!

    3. More lovely comments about my writing.

    4. Getting a call from the woman running the writing course that I'm booked on, to comfirm my place. She sounds lovely and I'm looking forward to a great day.

    5. Not having spent much money this week, so have enough left over to sort my drycleaning and fund next week.

    Have a good day, everyone!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • wssla00 and Bella - Hope you are both feeling better now.
I love how the weather is making everyone so joyful :j Most of my pleasures from yesterday are down to the good weather too.

    1) A lovely sunny day. Boys playing outside, lots of washing dried, lots of gardening done.
    2) Birdsong.
    3) Doing some 'Yoga for Kids' with DS1.
    4) A delicious dinner of sweet chilli chicken and Vietnamese chicken (inspired by Champys on the meal plan thread) with dirty sticky rice.
    5) Going to bed with a good book.

The weather is great again today. I'm going to take the boys down to the beach - they actually want to go in the sea though

What a beautiful day it was yesterday, and looks like today is going to be more of the same!

On that note, here are my pleasures for yesterday:

    - A visit from my lovely parents, how glad I am that I have their support and love.
    - Having a lovely home that is clean, tidy and being able to live comfortably.
    - My wonderful husband and daughter
    - A glorious sunshiny day
    - That freshly cut grass smell wafting in from the garden.

    Afternoon all :)

Sorry I haven't been around for a while I was still suffering headaches from the concussion but I'm back to normal now. I'm having to go offshore for a week tonight because everyone has got themselves into a frenzy over the shutdown. This has now put back a visit from the ten year ex who was supposed to arrive tonight :(

I'll be quick today.....welcome to all the newbies:

    1) The time offshore will put some extra pennies into the bank account
    2) Turning the heating off
    3) Not having to buy any food this week :D
    4) Some more people interested in the house
    5) House is lovely and tidy thanks to the viewing this morning

I'll still be able to post from offshore but they might be a bit engineering related :p

    Take care

Hi MollytheWestie - my view - for what its worth and feel free to ignore- is that this guy was a sad case of being beyond help. Great brain and all but from what you said some huge flaws that no ammount of help from you (or others) could have sorted out. Your 5 pleasures that end your post sound so great - bathe in them, cuddle your baby and enjoy your life.
    Hugs

    Afternoon all.

I'm getting my pleasures in early and quickly today as my younger sister's coming to stay for the weekend and I don't think I'll have time to post after work and before she arrives. (It came as a bit of a surprise to me as I thought she was coming tomorrow for the afternoon only - but who am I to argue? ;))

    My five for today:

    1) Saw the first butterfly of the year flutter by the office window - it was only a boring white one, but at least it was there. :) (BTW, Kitchenbunny - was it a brimstone you saw?)

    2) Warm enough at lunchtime to go out without a coat.

    3) I somehow managed to get water inside the face of my watch and thought I'd have to get it repaired. By this morning, though, the water had nearly all escaped / evaporated, which will save me a bit of money.

    4) Used a tip from this wonderful website to get my summer's supply of hayfever tablets for next to nothing (40p a pack, to be precise - even with delivery that's cost me far less than an NHS prescription :j)

    5) My sister's coming for the weekend, and I will have a nice time, and I will keep my temper when she starts her usual drama queen antics.

I might not be posting for the next few days (I don't yet know how long my sister's staying - where's the smiley for 'sighing deeply'?!). Have a lovely weekend, all, and I apologise in advance if my first post turns into a bit of venting. :o
Back after a very long break!
