Excellent summary MrsLW
Five more pleasures for my day:
1) Add the assistants at various other supermarkets as well - everyone was on fine form today, very cheery.
2) Having done my big food inventory yesterday, I meal planned and stocked up on basics and the extra few bits needed for next week. I also bought things like computer ink and paper, stuff to top up the first aid kits and stamps. Am now hoping that my plans to minimise next years spending will be off to a positive start. Don't want to be shopping for much until Feb.
3) Paid my library fine(whoops) which had been sitting there for so long my account had been frozen and I couldn't access audio books. All sorted so a very great pleasure. Definitely no more library fines in 2017.
4) DS1 did the washing up before he went out for the night. :T
5) Eating frozen raspberries and greek yoghurt as I type this.
The plan now is for me to have a long soaky Lush bath, put on clean jamas and go to bed to watch the programme about the Brontes then sleep. I am not going to go and see in the new year in the village square like last year. I'll probably hear them all anyway.
Sweet dreams - hoping you all find plenty to be happy about in 2017.

Happy new year
1) got started on my keynote for the 5th
2) all 3 children making appearances at some point through the day
3) watching pride - we've come such a long way on LGBT understanding, and I am very thankful for that. RIP my dear uni friend mark crowther who was sadly taken far too soon through AIDS
4) another room cleared for the decorator. Well done ds
5) lovely supper cooked by mr piano for me and mr lawyer. Then walked mr piano and mr lawyer to bus stop with dogs, me in ball gown, wrap and memory trainers. We (the dogs and me) waved them goodbye and went home. So for the first time in many years I have welcomed in the new year on my own. And it feels good. Love to you all, in particular mhags and family, & vjsmum frith and bop you have seen me through some very dark moments and you have been truly marvellous xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Happy New Year, everyone!
A belated congratulations, MrsLW.
Pleasures for today (New Years Eve)
1) A lie in.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Took some time filling in rat holes around the hen pen, setting the traps in different places to catch them out etc.
4) Soup for lunch, made by bigger son yesterday.
5) Went to Sainsburys and bigger son walked from there into town to meet his friends. I took as long as I could over a cup of hot chocolate and the shopping!
6) My school friend and my brother came round 7ish for New Years Eve. I cooked curry, rice and naans. School friend brought popadoms and chutneys. Just had cakes later. We ploughed through the majority of bigger son's maths homework, as he had left it until 3 pieces had accumulated for him... I can't believe the standard of GCSE maths now, even school friend (maths and higher maths A levels) was having to think hard!
7) Just taken the 2016 calendar down from the fridge and had a quick look through it. Still can't quite believe the trip we took in August. Put up the 2017 calendar and we are kicking off with smaller son going to watch the rugby in Worcs.
Thank you to everyone for putting up with my mithering on here each day. Most days (outside of work) I do not get to speak to another adult so there is no one to hear the annoyances of the day and they get typed out here!0 -
Welcome to the world Orley xx Congratulations to your family MrsLW x
HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all, thank you for all the blessings you share
1. DD and I went over to friend N's for a really fun dinner with her, her friend L (who I know quite well) and L's 2 teenage children. We played charades, did quizzes, and lots of other silly games.
2. Left there about 10:30 and went to meet Chap, who was at a rather strange social club a couple of minutes away with his sister and her family. Sister was lovely, thank goodness
3. Left Chap just after 11ish and went home, to see in NY with my parents (who aren't talking to me at the moment, *sigh* Hopefully it'll blow over by tomorrow....). At least DD's excitement at staying up til midnight was catching and pleasing to be around
4. Starting this year's gratitude journal - want to have some of my ramblings available for me to reread any time I'm feeling in need of them, as well as being on here.
5. Feeling so happy for a friend who has just announced her engagement; after a horrible first marriage, I'm so excited that she's met someone truly amazing and lovely who cherishes and is cherished. Yippee!!0 -

3. Messages from family and friends.
4. Time spent with DH where we can relax.
5. Fantastic food at restaurant. Friendly atmosphere - an evening well spent.
Looking forward to what this year has to bring.0 -
Good evening. I'm home I'm showered and in my jimjams and I sail be having an early night!
Got home around 1.30am...traffic coming home was like rush hour which seemed a little ridiculous at that time.
Then up early to return to hospital. Train and tram .OH quite tired out today and quite dozy, so I left a bit earlier than I'd planned. Tram and train home and got just a little bit wet as it started raining.
I had prepped steak pie and roast potatoes and parsnips and had left instructions as to how they should be cooked. Operation get the dinner on as soon as I left hospital. Nice meal but I was so sad that my lovely husband wasn't with us. We did send photos though .
A nice chat with a lady in the hospital pantry, she's going through something similar with her husband. I had pointed out that her blouse was inside out and she commented on my accent and then we got chatting....what kept you? asked OH...just chatting!
Nice texts and messages from friends. Lift home sorted for tomorrow night. Which I really appreciate and means I can spend more time with OH? I felt quite torn today as I wanted to be with my children on NYD and share our traditional meal . We have such tough times ahead.
My lovely Haggis, he doesn't question, he doesn't tell tales, he doesn't moan that someone hasn't done something, he doesn't eat the chocolate Swiss roll I thought we'd have for pud....gone! , he just loves unconditionally.
Happy New Year one and all!
Onwards ....0 -
