1. Cuddles with DD in my bed this morning, whilst reminiscing about the year.
2. Cuddles with Chap yesterdayHe came into school to help me get ready for the term - he can do that anytime he likes! Wow, what a trooper
We got so much done, of course I still have a to do list the length of the M25, but all my English, French, morning starters, Art&DT are planned and resourced for the half term.
3. We went to MrM's on the way to his to buy yummy food for dinner and got some great YS bargains - again, another sign he's a man after my own heart, he wasn't upset that I was actively seeking out YS and pointing them out to him
4. Watched a film "The Way", which a previous member of the 'harem' recommended to me. It was very moving and we loved it.
5. Looking forward to hopefully seeing Chap tomorrow evening and definitely seeing one of my besties for a sleepover to celebrate the new year.
6. Am eagerly awaiting finding out more about going to WW slimming for free through a work-related scheme. Some of the 10kg I've lost without trying have gone back on with all the rich food and alcohol I've been overdosing on during this festive period. I have been feeling so much better for losing a bit of weight, want to make it more, more, MORE!!
7. Was going to drag DD out to a stone circle, but it looks far too cold and foggy. Think an afternoon of card and board games will be more fun (and cheaper!)
8. Bought a new laptop the other day (eeek!!) and it's great - but doesn't have much software on it. Thank goodness school will be putting various things on for me as they don't provide us with laptops, but still want us to work hard!
9. Had a lovely day out the other day with an old friend who is also DD's favourite godmother. She's looking at buying us all tickets to go and see a West End show. Yay
10. Chap is sorting out his bookcases (well over 1,000 books in his tiny flat) and is very kindly putting aside lots of books that might be good for my classroom. I'm going to see how much he might get for them if he sold them and give him a MrT voucher for the same amount so that he can't refuse it! He's not the richest chap financially, and was planning on selling as much as possible to help fund a new computer, trips to the gym and dating me, lol.0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
mhags - glad to hear that Mr mhags is in the place right for him. Bonus about the NYE fireworks.
Kittikins - your chap sounds like a keeper!
I've managed to come down with a grotty cold. Ah, such is life at this time of year. As if my tooth last week wasn't enough. However, no doubt all will be fine once I go back to school next week...
So, pleasures:
1) Catching up with my oldest friends over a coffee. A good old chat is exactly what is needed.
2) Sorted a fair few things out and there are actually GAPS on our bookshelf.
3) Listening to the radio as I travel here there and everywhere. I really must make more of an effort to listen to some of them again. I loved listening to Gareth Malone on Desert Island Discs on Christmas Day.
4) Time with friends and family. Surely that's as OS as you can get?
5) My teaching union membership renewal has come through, with many options for saving money at different retailers. I'll be checking that out!
Take care everyone :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
D4V ouch about the Denby.
Mchags; big hugs
A mixture for the past few days and a little mini rant.
I swear some people are only happy when they are complaining, I lost my cool the other day, my father’s sister decided to tell me a long list of “complaints” about DF before thinking about what she said and that’s it I am done. I deal with problems with DF literally every other day. She visits once a year I am just sick to my back teeth with her issues. And I “politely” told her so and feel ok about it. I won’t be responding to her comments any more, I just feel a bit sad that people can be like that. While it sounds like a mini rant I am left feeling bemused but positive.
1. I don’t feel guilty about the above in fact feel a bit like a weight has been lifted to speak my mind, some very hurtful and unthinking things where said from her and I just cut off with enough is enough you are spouting utter rubbish.:o
2. Over the past few days a few unplanned layin’s but a few very late nights as we didn’t get in from the inlaws until gone 2am last night thanks to the fog.:p And it take a couple of hours to unwind and feed the animals so not asleep until 4.30am.
3. Visited the inlaws a very slow journey back in a pea souper but it was an okish day.
4. The pleasure of watching the original 1959 Sleeping Beauty and thinking of the amount of work it took, but lovely to watch.:T I am also totallt besotted with the R.I. Christmas lectures.
5. I have just taken out a joint to defrost for New Year’s Day, this is one of DHs traditions that I never normally follow but since we are home we shall have a treat, I don’t come from a family that did a roast on New Year’s Day so it’s still a new one to me.:)0 -
VickyA - I knew you'd approve of Chap
I've had people asking if I can clone him or if he's got a brother, tee hee!

My pleasures for the past few days are all in one tiny but beautiful package who decided to arrive very early on the 28th December at 11.08 in the evening. He is Orley Jakob Dewi, weighed in at 7lbs 13oz, has masses of dark hair and no wrinkles but cheeks like tiny peaches and is a wonderful and very welcome addition to the family, bless him! xxx.0

Many congratulations MrsLW that is such wonderful news.
It's Hogmanay morning, I think I slept well...first time in weeks I've needed covered by the duvet!
Train and tram and day ahead in hospital. Bought supplies at supermarket rather than hospital!0 -
(((((hugs))))) to all the clan Mhags.
Fantastic news MrsLW
Five pleasures for today:
1. Discovered the missing piece of dowel I mislaid and needed to rig up a curtain for the bathroom window - now fixed and the surplus little bit of dowel has been decluttered into the kindling basket.:)
2. Had a brainwave about using velcro to attach a piece of fabric to the top shelf some low shelves in the bathroom and curtain off all the cleaning stuff and toiletries. Velcro is now sorted just need to find a bit of suitable fabric from my stash. Everything is now nearing being organised! One room down...
3. Big hug from DS2 before he left for a weekend away.
4. Made loads of veggie spag bol sauce for supper so I have tomorrow night's tea sorted too.
(4 and a half... thought I'd lost this post but have just found it again!!! )
5. Weighed myself for the first time in three weeks and the pounds are slowly and steadily coming off.
Sweet dreams

>Congrats Mrs L!!!!
>Thinking of you Mchagster
>Ooohhh a new beau with a great name...
>Firth, my daughter's chickens are now big and healthy and laying daily. How is Barbara? DD1 went to get a free baby bunny for Quoye's Christmas and came home with the mother too. Both are very gentle and will let a two year old hold them.
* New apron front kitchen sink bought. (Are they popular in the U.K./Australia?) If I went with a 33" length instead of 36" it would be $400 cheaper. I kept my money and thought what's 3 extra inches for sink length to me anyway? Not $400 that's for sure.
* Breakfast out with my love. I made sure he was fed before I went and bought the sink.
* Tile guy is through prepping dining room. The kitchen tile came up so easily but the dining room was a nightmare to remove. Monday should see the beginning for tile laying. :j
* Tonight I break out the Scotch my son bought me for Christmas. He knows me well.
* I forgot to mention seeing the new Star Wars as a family on Christmas Eve. The new theater has big comply seats and adjustable tray tables in front of you. A server comes to take drink and snack/dinner orders. We ate/drank while watching the movie. :beer:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Kk  to chap
Wonderful news lw
1) watched the last episode of the moonstone. Very good
2) more decluttering. Ds moved bookcase up to room of requirements and lent me his record player for my bedroom. I have now listened to my lovely new vinyl black star :T
3) mum and I went to base of home to buy a storage thing for my bathroom. They had none in and didn't know if they'd get anymore. So we went to elm of dun and they had some lovely sets of 2 lined wicker baskets in drawers, reduced. Bought 4 :-) and they look super
4) also found a bread bin I like. Not in the sale, but just what I wanted
5) best till last - when we went in the room of requirements ds said 'what's that smell? Smells of childhood' and was smiling. Made me very:):)

3) Had lunch at McDs.
4) Bigger son made soup this evening - enough for lunch tomorrow and some in the freezer.
