Good evening from the land of much humidity! Has been a bit rainy on and off which is good for the garden.
Nice dog walk this morning.
Started de- Christmas decorating. My office first. I like it all down before new year.
I have much paperwork to be attended to ( lots of medical stuff) so made a list and made a start.
Had a late lunch out and hence don't need dinner. Children are fridge picking.
Had a nice chat with SIL this morning.
Have a good day0 -
Afternoon all,
Some pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. The sunshine, the mostly milder weather (where we are), the lack of traffic etc have made the last few days seem so calm.
2. Presents given seemed to have been received well. Presents received (a generous cheque from my parents, a bit more Lush bath stuff, an offer to get my freebie bike roadworthy, various bits of useful foodstuffs including some good balsamic) were spot on and very clutter free.
3. Food has been easy, simple to make and hasn't left anyone feeling super-saturated.
4. I was on my own all of yesterday while my DSs were at their gfs' houses so I got some good programmes to listen to on iplayer and cleaned and decluttered my clothes and bedroom, all the toiletries and first aid kit/old medicines. Then I caught up on my washing and felt extremely pleased with myself. It felt like a big present to myself and I think that, from now on, I will factor in a day doing this every Christmas when I have some time alone. My bedroom is always the place that gets done last!
5. The sound of our local morris side's bells and melodeons as they walked in little groups past our windows to the square. It always makes me smile hearing the jingling and snippets of tunes and then the proper music once they start dancing.
Enjoy the rest of your day

I'm not talking about putting candles inn the tree, that is so .... But I have to ...
5 Again and not nor the first time either, Santa is useless! He has not bought round my train set again. I checked the chimney and guess what! The letter had gone up in smoke and how do you expect him to get down that! Right mood!
4 And after that, watched some of the cricket at the MCG. It looks like Mhags is getting a shower or two. Hope it does not dampen the spirits!
3 Wents off to the drs this morn about the S pills. Guess what. It is for tomorrow. No I am not getting old before you lot think about it.
2 Night will be watching another film on the box of ogle. I will not be eating any wispas though!
You have been calling for it for years and yet again, it is not there!0 -
1) A lovely time with both DDs and that Zebra and just home to our things which is also lovely.
2) Beautiful thoughtful and useful presents from all of them.
3) Looking forward to sausages and cauliflower mash with steamed veg for supper. Christmas food is lovely, everyday food is nice too!
4) Got home to a super present from a very dear friend that arrived here after we left, am delighted with everything in it!
5) Rugby on the TV, it's the T12 between Ospreys and Scarlets!0 -
1. I spent some unplanned time with DF yesterday, his sisters are now down for the week so he will be in company the rest of the time. He adored his Christmas present which was lovely to see. He’s been after a garden gnome for ages, and we found the perfect one in Ikea! So now he is the proud owner of a Swedish gnome.:rotfl:
2. For today a lovely and er very long lay in, but if you can’t on a bank holiday when can you…:o
3. 2nd day of leftovers today before they must be curried up, but today so far, turkey and slaw sandwiches, and turkey in gravy, with chips and some bread for a chip butty for dinner.:D
4. All the animals very happy for just every day their manners are improving each day with interaction and being around us all the time.:)
5. We halved the goodies this year and still have a lot, sitting here in a snuggly fleece I received over Christmas.:p
6. It’s been lovely having a relaxing day today with no commitments, but I admit I am looking forward to going out tomorrow.:)0 -
1 Slept till 7am, then pottered on my laptop for an hour, then fell back to sleep till 9am
2. Dry bright sunny day with a frosty start. Went to a meet up with friends at 11am and local landlord gave us free mince pies with our teas/coffees/hot choc
3. the 10 of us then nicely fitted into two cars for a trip to the seafront shopping centre where we mooched around the shops.
4. we then went to lunch in a restaurant where main courses are delish and very reasonable and we saved money by ordering free tap water drinks
5. we also shared the car parking fee which meant it only cost £1 each
Had a great day lots of chat and laughter. Off to the frozen north tomorrow so will see you all next year ! Best wishes to all x0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Quick pleasures for today:
1) A lie in!
2) Went to nearby small town with smaller son to spend his Christmas money. Then to larger town with bigger son to spend his. This is the first time he has not bought toys and gadgets but spent it on clothes! Apparently, Jack Wills is the place to go (I had never heard of it).
3) Had our Christmas dinner today :-)
4) Hens OK and bigger son tested out his new stocking filler bike lights and back mudguard when he cycled down to check them again later.
5) Watched Holby and have just been sitting by bigger son in my bed watching Humans.0 -
Pm to bop bah humbug
3rd day of Christmas. No French hens, just my mum offering to
1) take 2 full car loads to dump yay. As my gut still unsettled she took ds rather than me to unload
2) the lovely lunch of soup, cheese and crackers. Soup made with yummy turkey stock
3) then I braved a trip to Tesco. All was well. My first trip out since the doctor's last week. We even stopped for a hot drink and catch up on the newsapers
4) sorted freezer, put away shopping, and dd1 arrived home to say hi. she'd left a couple of pressies behind mistake. She had a turkey sandwich
5) couple of hours applying the toothbrush principle. I bought it a while back on kindle. Have decided any declutter book works if you apply it and this has added advantage its on the kindle so no clutter. I read the whole book in Pakistan but obviously the gut thing put paid to getting stuck in right away. I now have a sorted bathroom, am making headway on the room of requirements, and have a sorted and not over-filled broom cupboard and cupboard under the stairs.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi all - did a post a few days ago that got lost
Anyhoo - hope you all had a great / peaceful / raucous/ etc (delete as appropriate) time.
mine probably comes under "etc.."
Spent the festive season in ICT (home now, though), intended to be a quiet family time that SiL cuckood in on with MiL who has the ability to pour cold water on all festivities....
Anyway, pleasures were had, thus
1. We were with MiL and forced her to try to enjoy herself. At least she can't say we didn't try.
2. The carol service on christmas eve. The vicar did a comedy turn and i enjoyed belting out carols with gusto (whoever he is :rotfl:)
3. A brisk walk up a not-quite-mountain prior to carol service. nature is usually my church and was happy to do both
4. A cycle ride with OH on boxing day. Coffee and cake at a local land mark. rather windy but blew the cobwebs
5. Some lovely food prepared by OH, SiL and i - turkey, ham, salads, sticky toffee pud, mince pies - the usual
6. Breaking through in communicating with niece and nephew. Niece has 'issues' caused by her father and his suicide - understandably. Nephew less so (he was younger). It has been hard to get on a level with her but they joined in the games
7. Train ride on boxing day - including beer and nibbles
8. Good drive back with my 2 yesterday. they seem to be getting on better. Largely cos DS is maturing :T
9. Lovely bath catching up some TV this morning. Planning to watch the 'Glenn Miller story' in a sec
10. A day to myself, OH and DS out on trains. DD gone to meet friends in birmingham. lovely
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0
