• It’s been a very busy week I don’t think we have posted much but only as we have been out and out.

1. Spent some time with friends for the past few evenings, good company and I didn’t have to/need to cook.:o

2. The rescues have recovered nicely from being neutered and are so happy to be back.:T

3. We won a new sink and base unit on the bay and picked it up today, it’s perfect, about 2 years old, and cost far far more than we would pay new, we purchased for pennies :money:and picked it up of the loveliest people.:) as our bathroom sink also choose now to come away from the wall.

4. Our microwave packed up, happened to mention it to friends and they had dug a spare one they had out for us – feeling blessed.

5. All the animal washing has been done, next up our clothes and bedding.

6. Last night I bought a sparkly fluffy ombre jumper for a tenner, then felt very guilty as I don’t really need it and we need the money more, but DH says to keep it as it’s not extravagant and I’ve had my eye on it for months now it’s been very reduced down.:o

Evening all.

Five more pleasures:

1. Hot soaky bath with lush bath bomb left over from my birthday.

2. At long, long last have got the fridge clean.

3. Lights on the Xmas tree.

4. Watching the Year in Science review on iplayer. We are on a very, very small but completely wonderful planet really :) This progs a good one to put everyday troubles to one side and just wonder (but there are a few ethical things too). http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0874529/review-2016-the-year-in-science

5. Clementines.

Sweet dreams

Another busy day of tidying and Christmas preparation today. Here are my pleasures:

1) A lie in.

2) Porridge for breakfast.

3) Storm Barbara not too bad, though the fairy lights have half blown down off the shed.

4) Tidying and de-moulding today was the landing and bookcase. 2 large bags of books went to the charity shop.

5) Whilst in the charity shop, found 3 new pairs of work trousers, £12 in total. They have replaced my existing 2 pairs, both with broken zips.

6) Got bits for lunch tomorrow when my school friend is coming over.

7) More tidying generally, phone call made about the fridge freezer contract (it gets cleaned for free once a year), logs brought in etc.

8) Cleaned the bathroom, hoovered upstairs.

9) Enjoyed the last leg this evening.

Sad news tonight in that parents' neighbour has died. I only spoke to him on Tuesday when we exchanged Christmas cards. I've known him since I was 5 and he helped with various problems over the years, including my maths coursework when I was at school. I feel strangely annoyed that he has died (not expected) as he was enjoying retirement and had a lot of "irons in the fire" of things he was working on.

Those of you who 'know' the poster &, will appreciate massive effort being made oop North, and West, just as les bop-eroos are finding out:
Note to those for whom this raises concern: bop is storm-proofed since render of the unremembered jacket in Paris[posts passim]
Therefore, meteo committments pertaining, mean & somewhat out of puff AND for forthcoming....

1. Spits and back: tyres still in their 4 x 1-pieces respectively. Big trouble was on way down. Started 0130-ish and glad to have done so. Big smoky thick fog nearly doubled journey time.

2. & had scribed 'Peace on Earth' across the h-m crimbo cake, which went down more than passing well:-) Irony of plunging large knife through said lettering not lost, with many exchanges of philosophical parallels drawn with state of post-truth/agent orange/putin/brexit bonkers world. A jolly day and last week's car fixits well covered, until ANOTHER theft........of something v. special, bought Paris ["]http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=71723024&postcount=35916]:mad::mad::mad::mad:
But A and M behind & lost their most expensive thing - a £££££THOUSANDS[count them]gold watch. Nothing on camera. Of course not-these psychytes HAVE to be good at what they do.

3. Safe return. Really meant something when suddenly realising at least half a dozen times on way back that driving was happening with eyes wide shut.

4. ems to person tonight, still in Warned List. None of US are. Late in, after banking, emporium, Mr T, various, with fortunate timing - f&v all 4p or less, inc 5 good cyclamens, all blooming in white ceramic pots:T Fairy Drop-in has work to do, storm duty permitting.

5. Leaving emporium, met by 20p reverbe:T, then blasting rain & wind:(, remembering towels and cardies deliberately left on line to blow dry:mad:, then helping fit 40s couple with their trolleys, which wind was ripping away. Rather scary. And none of it amounts to a hill of beans:D.
Is that why, hearing bell-ringing practice, & snuck in through their little door unseen, had some quiet words re: person and allowed self another solo sing?

• Thanks, &.
Much quieter day yesterday.
After restless nights in bed, I fell asleep in my chair, woke up 7 hours later feeling refreshed.
Family coming over and things to do before they arrive, definitely some OS pleasures to post later. :)

It's almost the end of Christmas Eve here. It's hot and I'm bothered and trying to sleep because I'm tired but it's too hot and I can't sleep!

Santa has been to NZ and will be on his way to Australia very soon.

My children are still a big bit excited which is nice.

I've found the day quite emotional at times. Probably our last Christmas Eve together as 5. So random bouts of tears across the day.

Massive thunderstorm first thing which cleared the air for a while and gave the garden a good drink....I got soaked coming out of supermarket but quite liked the rain....thunder & lightning not so much.

Friends came over for morning tea. I made lemonade scones which were very nice .

My SIL had sent (to me) my MILs crocheted blanket that my DD1 had asked for when house was recently sold. Messaged her to say it had arrived and she told me I really should open it as there was an elf ( on the shelf variety) inside too. So I now have an elf on my mantlepiece! Splendid!

Stockings are suitably stuffed.

Tomorrows food is simple . Shall take all of 5 minutes to prepare.

Enjoy your day.

Oo exciting nearly Christmas (and even nearer for our lovely mhags)
Tummy still not right. Am getting mighty bored being stuck in the house, but GP recommended stopping the Imodium and letting nature sort things out. Sample has nevertheless gone to lab.
1) 2 children home, xoh has gone to Edinburgh to bring home dd2 whose shift ended at 11.
2) my newly decorated bedroom and bathroom are lovely
3) decorator keen to get started on rest of rooms, so a lot of decluttering to do before 28th eek
4) just finished watching saving mr banks. Lovely (and yes I cried)
5) looking for slipper (still not found), found dd1's lost pills just before she sent out in hurricane Barbara to get more from her flat.
Have a super duper Christmas everyone, from a very wet and windy Dundee xxxxx

• PK. What is this nuclear device you have. Does it do a decent cup of tea, loose leaf of course.

5 Just back from up nurrf. Good gig last eve. BoPsie was well chilled.

4 Had to buy breakfast this morning. Half a pig this time with black pudding. Tum was rubbed.

3 Checked my note with Santa. It definitely says. Train Set. Big one. I has lefts a all butter mince pie for Pancer.

2 Night BoP, having relieved W8RS in Lincoln, not a town that BoP goes to too often an no way in any time has a football team, of Bateman XXXB. If you are there wanting some now, tuff. We got some Pu55y as well. Everards Tiger. Wagon of BoP was clinking all the way home!

Surely this year!
