    1. after waking at 3ish and DS leaving for work at 5ish I did my online banking and meal planned for the week, then managed to fall back to sleep for a few hours. Sun was shining when I woke so managed to get some washing out even though it was a really cold wind its mostly dried outside. Frosty tonight.

    2. meet up with friends at one of friends houses - lots of tea coffee and chocolate brownies plus one friend who does reflexology was giving the girls a foot massage - I cant bear having my feet touched so she did my hands and I cant believe what a difference its made as they were very sore and puffy this morning and have been much better for the rest of the day

    3. tree taken down and decs packed away for next year. Hoovered the living room

    4. started cutting Christmas cards into tags for next year with pinking shears. Can only do a few at a time as it makes my hands sore and didn't want to overdo it today

    5. really fancied a Chinese takeaway tonight but our usual one is shut. Had some home made peri-peri chicken with noodles instead

Back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off, but a nice relaxing last day of the holidays.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in, at least til 8pm.

    2) Dropped bigger son off for beating (Mila - it's to do with pheasants, not attacking people). He earned £30.

    3) Fed the hens who were OK despite the temperature. Just 1 egg today.

    4) Smaller son and I popped out briefly.

    5) Did ironing and hemmed 2 pairs of trousers.

    6) Bigger son cleaned my and his shoes ready for tomorrow.

    7) Tasty tea of HM wedges and sweet potato wedges plus some posh burgers in buns.

    8) Looking forward to watching First Dates later.

Not a pleasure was smaller son having a meltdown, possibly about having to go to school tomorrow but also because a boy from his school (a bit of a frenemy) suggested he was rubbish at computer games because of his "syndrome". :-/ Smaller son suggested he was rubbish at computer games "because of your potato based diet" (!) and it rather escalated from there.

    Evening all,

    Five pleasures for Monday:

    1. Starting to get some sense of what day we are on again. I've been in a real muddle this holidays but today is Monday and tomorrow is Tuesday and suddenly the weeks have reappeared!

    2. Trip to the dump to recycle a load of stuff. Charity shop will happen tomorrow.

    3. Looking at the sunset from my parent's flat - there's a really good view from there and it was beautiful at about 4.30.

    4. Lovely mushroom omelette, fantastic green salad and speckly carrot/spud mash for supper. More calorific than the usual meal but somehow I missed out on breakfast today so I'm not too worried.

    5. 2 NSDs so far this year.

    Sweet dreams

    B x
  • * Last of the chili. It was on so good!

    * Last of the Stocking chocolate. It was better! :D

    * Thoughtful people who take the time to explain things to me. Just love you lot!

    * Clean hair. It made me feel better to finally feel well enough to wash it. When I have a migraine it can be excruciating!

    * My frugal half price Yankee candle (not the cheap kind of candle) that makes the entire house smell wonderful.

    * DH went to the grocery story with a long list and did not complain about it.
    Love my man!! :kisses2:

    1. Came home yesterday but late so had a day relaxing.

    2. On way to airport had a walk round a walled town which was lovely and peaceful.

    3. The flight was almost on time. Not my favourite mode of transport.

    4. Home - the house was still standing and not in much mess.

    5. Reflecting that this Christmas/New year period has been good.

Good evening from hospital chair. Looks like it's been a very nice afternoon out of the window. Was a bit dreary first thing but had brightened by lunch.

Got the same train I used to take to work ( the irony of that not lost on me!) saw hot air balloons. Tram straight away and was here before OH had woken up...he said it was nice me being here when he woke up. I wanted to be in early as docs come round early. Had a good chat with the main team.

Had a slice of toast for breakfast ...courtesy of his tray! Also ate an apple and an orange. I'm quite lazy with eating fruit. Love veg and could eat loads and do like fruit and there is always fruit at home...so it's a challenge to eat more.

Went up to top floor cafe and bought sweet chilli chicken and noodles and veg. Won't need much when I go home. Did 2 laps of the rooftop garden to get my step count up...had a chat with some people as they saw me going past again! It's the accent...it's a conversation in itself!

Watched ' suffragette ' movie this afternoon. OH has a bedside laptop which amongst other things has a selection of movies to watch. He also orders all his meals online on it.

Friend kindly picking me up in 40 minutes. Looking forward to seeing my family and my dog...probably the dog the most! It's alway hard leaving OH here but he's in the best place at the moment.

Catching up on some email correspondence.

    Have a good day :)

Laineyi hope your mum is comfortable and peaceful in the hospice. Hugs for you all.

Frith I did snigger at your son's comment about potato based diet....maybe that's why I'm no good at computer games! Love my spuds!

Broomstick yikes to a sparkly bath! I remember having a stained pink bath ! Nice at the time but blooming murder afterwards!

Right it's selfie time and time to pack up and head home x

    Some pleasures for yesterday,

Cold, bright, sparkly kind of day after the relentless rain of the day before.

Spending an hour outside after being either in the house or car, just mooched around the garden really and de-cluttered the dogs by giving them a good brush.

Afternoon sat with DM, she was snoozing most of the time so I amused myself by watching Mr Pheasant chasing several lady pheasants around the grounds, for some reason the theme tune to the Benny Hill show was running through my head :)

A beautiful crimson crescent of the moon setting on the horizon.

New series of Silent Witness, needed the cushion of protection a couple of times mind.
