1. I woke up in a grump which is unusual, but it dissipated after 2 teas and a leftover breakfast.:o
2. DH took the decorations off the car:p
3. Had to pop out for milk, bread and fruit, sadly Li£l was rather lacking in stock, we ended up doing a shop for DF instead.
4. Just loving spending time with the animals, watching them learn it’s a safe place to play they have come on leaps and bounds.:T
5. Casserole thing tonight, it really does have everything in that was left, I saved the water that veg had been cooked in to use for the base with a stock cube.:o0 -
Evening all
Five pleasures for Tuesday:
1. Very good tikka and rice for supper. Enough left over to make 2 h/m ready meals for the freezer.
2. Sitting chatting with DS1 while we ate our suppers in front of the fire.
3. Gave myself a haircut - looks much better now.
4. Last veg box delivery for a while so ordered a double lot of clementines which are lovely - had three for lunch!
5. Decluttered and re-filed the kitchen drawers. Slowly, gently, imperceptibly things are getting sorted.
Sweet dreams

Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep, though it had to end too early!
2) Managed to get to work, after the car got stranded on ice by the chicken pen. :-/ Staff members surprisingly jolly today.
3) Enjoyed wearing my brand new Per Una (charity shop), carefully hemmed trousers. So pleased to throw away my old pairs that I had worn every work day for nearly 2 years, one with a zip that unzipped itself and the other with a zip jammed halfway up!
4) Went to see my school friend after work.
5) It wasn't quite as pitch dark as it has been, driving back from town.
6) Smaller son's friend (with the potato based diet) apologised to him and smaller son apologised also.
7) Smaller son had another meltdown but sorted himself out and we cleaned the turtle's tank out.
8) Cleaned the bathroom.
9) In bed with 1 hwb and wondering whether to watch Holby City or not.
oooo, and 10) ! A bit of excitement in the kitchen when I found smaller son's flask that he had taken to the rugby on Sunday. I got it half open (only an inch of cold hot chocolate in there). BOOOOOOM! I have no idea what happened to it but I jumped out of my skin, the neck of the flask split and imploded and a plume of white smoke came out!0 -
We know how to do Hogmanay skint sorry if it made your day too manic
1) walked the three dogs to the cashpoint. Mr piano's dog is definitely now one of the pack
2) found the chocolate- covered ginger one of my children gave me for Christmas. Yum (and still lots left)
3) gbf came round. He's looking well. He's off to Cyprus mid Jan with his brother and wife
4) more decluttering. Found 'favourite' slippers, one of which had been awol for a couple of years (!) then redyed my hair purple. Well I am staying in the bishop's suite tomorrow
5) fish and chips and father brown for tea.
Mr piano asked if his ex could stay next weekend. I've not met him. Gbf and I are intrigued (<- polite way of saying bliddy nosey)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Next &obile might be a Meriva [have never heard of it]. Looking tmrw, which means another non-Spits Thursday. Just can't risk another breakdown like last 2-in-1 in sub-zero temps, wee small hours. Petrol's up another 2p tonight - 116p per litre. More to come[Brexit fools, no thanks to you] Fuel economy will count even more. Snr Fenboy thinks this cheapie Meriva could suit &, altho' less APPARENT loading, versus boxy Focus Zetec. On verra.
2. Was astonished on Sat to use young friend's unexpected, generous gift so quickly. Knew I had the perfect old gold chain for it and tonight, she saw it for 1st time and is as thrilled as &. 4 times I loitered with something like intent, between Mr Lewis and Library, having spotted an old 'recovering bruise'-colours agate seal[not a conventional PrettyThing. & and 'Pretty' are not synonymous] Seal is not engraved, but will be. Giver of enabling gift really loves it and loves it as distinctive for &. & aussi.
3. Another engrossing read to finish, with 2 hwbs of course:-) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7178930-the-puppet-show
4. Early lightbulb thought enacted. Up ladder, some birdie bread on garden room roof. Pigeons and gulls and collared doves pleased. Crumbled other through rosemary and bushes beyond kitchen window. Bits caught in webs which Jenny Wren and Monsieur Merle hoovered happily.
5. 4kg mixed citrus[bergamot, lemons, clementines, oranges] all peeled and de-pithed ready for next stages demain. All covered now. It'll survive. Scent of bergamot zest is divine. Emporium sell-off was [STRIKE]£1.99[/STRIKE] 39p for 2.

* Survived running a long morning of errands with DH and DS2. Son usually does not go so that was nice. I needed a few things from Wallyworld but it took forever because they have remodeled and moved everything somewhere else. sigh....
Hopefully a short learning curve.
* Had a cousin contact me and offer to mail me an oil painting my mother did (in 1979) for her. Precious gift to me! I had never seen it so she posted it on FB. I love and miss my mother so much. Lainey I have great compassion for you because Mother spent her last two years in a nursing home. Her Alzheimer's had progressed to the point that she needed constant care. Her medical needs became too much for any of us to handle. My sweet precious Mother!
* Not sure what the builder was doing while we were gone this morning but he didn't get much tile laid. Perhaps I should check the safe? Oh wait, we don't have a safe. (I know...old joke)
Nevertheless any progress goes on my pleasures list!!!
* Eye opening jaw dropping interview by Shawn Hannity with Julian Assange regarding Wikileaks reporting of Clinton emails being hacked. No, the Russian did not give them the info.....I wonder just what else is going to get shaken out of the tree before Trump takes office. Interesting times in my beloved country.
* Another successful SC meal. Interesting/challenging not having a stove. Lots left for freezer.
>> My DH's great friend passed on today. Long long battle/treatment for malignant brain tumors. We are heartbroken by his loss and for his sweet vigilant family. It has been such a long road/struggle.
My prayers are with you dearest Mchags as I sit here crying for the loss of our dear friend.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

3. Wondered if there was a post about simple pleasures and found this thread.
Me too
Tuesday's simple pleasures:
1. Managed to get an early night and slept well
2. Spent quality time with dh & ds
3. Seeing a lovely starry sky

Welcome to all new posters.
This is a lovely, friendly and caring thread.
1. Work very quiet - working with someone I didn't really know and have got to know her better and it will be enjoyable to work with her.
2. Had jacket potatoes for tea as not given much thought about food. Thankfully the chickens are laying enough for egg mayo with the potatoes.
3. Long chat with a friend and we have arranged to meet up. I haven't seen her in a few years but bump into her husband in random places including st James palace at a duke of Edinburgh award ceremony.
4. Still decluttering and finding more space. Both physically and feel better mentally.
5. DS1 're assessing his job and now thinking he may start applying for something more in the field of his degree. This seems to be a decision he has been thinking about for a while. May be why he was more cheerful over Christmas.
MIL drama - she has gone home. Total chaos. When the ambulance men came to collect her at :7 for dialysis she was still in bed as the carers hadn't arrived to get her up. After the dialysis the ambulance men gave her the key and not put it in the key safe so the other carers couldn't get in and there was more. DH had told them she wasn't able to go home.0 -
Quick few for today as it is almost time to leave hospital and head home.
Looks like it's been nice ...from the airconned room!
Early train and tram. Here for 7.30am.
OH doing okay...and okay is fine.
Here for another couple of days at least.
Listened to radio.
Getting picked up and driven home ...hurrah! So grateful to be collected. It really makes such a difference.
Have a good day
Looking forward to dog hugs.0
