1. Work was ok and saw a couple of people I hadn't seen since before Christmas.
2. Took down Christmas decorations. Not a job I like but it's done now. Love putting them up.
3. Still managed to avoid shopping. Freezer is starting to empty - for me and hopefully can manage not to spend much this month.
4. MIL has had another eventful day. DH has tried to contact her but she won't answer the phone to him. Everyone else involved speaks to him. At least he has tried.
5. Fairly good day today.0 -
Hello...waving languidly from the land of great heat again!
Day at hospital. OH not so good today. But we've spent it together.
Thai chicken and noodles for lunch...I'm offcially over them now!
Ate two apples...then came home and son had went out for fish and chips. Watered plants and came in and had a chip butty.
Did 2 laps of the rooftop garden .
Volunteer ladies came round with a trolley of books and magazines so borrowed a book and read that all afternoon...had hoped to snooze but had 2 phone calls and a doctors visit!
Train and tram in and a good chat with friend on way home.
Have a good day0 -

1. A weird pleasure I think because we can’t afford the really gorgeous Chinese takeaway at the moment did I mention I am missing it, the weight has also stayed about the same with food planning and working with things that have arrived from both rtc’s from DF not being able to eat.
2. I received a call at 1.30am to say DF had been taken ill but he is refusing to go into hosp, everyone working on principle of if he is well enough to refuse than leave it for now, not sure why they needed to tell me in the wee hours, and decided not to worry, more odd calls fielded about him but he’s still at his home.
3. All the decorations packed away for another 11 months, well they can’t be up any longer we aren’t tempting the superstitions but I enjoyed them this year, time wise they are just reaching that point of clutter though. DH is glad that he doesn’t have to clamber about the front of the house no one likes ladders.:D
4. The washing machine has been on the go all day, 3 loads of pet bedding done and dried on the radiators, then when that was dried just one load of ours.:o
5. Used up things DF gave to us yesterday of a lasagne and a cheese gratin for lunch with salad.:money:
6. Now the animals are litter trained, I had to properly clean up where they had missed on the rug, que the vax digging about for bits to turn it to water, I washed the rug 3 times and hung it out on the line. Then turned the vax back to a hoover and thought it would be a good idea to hoover the house, but I am a little bit tired now, but at least now I am tired in a cleanish house.:rotfl:0 -
Lots of us seem to be spinning in a temporal centrifuge at present.

1. & reached enzed early a.m., 4th attempt. Cousin spoke until line dropped. Each day a bonus for Aunt now. &'s big letter+pkg rcvd, read out, enjoyed, ''especially the big purple full-stop. We all loved that." Aunt, sometime sniper at & in times long past [& is not/never was, &'s mother. Such conflation can arise in famberlies] was anxious that & knew all, sent her love and hugs and very special words.
2. Coming to terms with Meriva. To which end, Mr Halford set aside Mr Haynes' auto-bible this arvo. Infinitely superior fuel economy meant & sped to town of gown to pick it up; still cheaper than online. Then, for 2nd time, sat o/s &squat for 3 days[spot the deliberate mistake] trying to work out how to turn off interior reading lights, even when following instructions:mad::mad::mad:
Previous &obile still unSorned. & wants tax back. Faffety-faff-faff much of day. Meriva taxed, eventually. Notspot made big silly things rptdly happen. No such reg. No such vehicle. No such &. etc.etc.
Then insurance changed - more  when newer, better, smaller, kinder engine ended up costing MORE! Started a Thread.....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
on a site called mse. Useful.:D Recommend:money:
Things liked in Meriva - little closed cubby for lunettes [ some Ted Baker sunnies in there! Fenboys say 'Keep'] above driver door. Also, temp. with time, radio and weather display. -4C when & parked tonight.
3. Marmalade's now in 2 big preserving pan batches. No. 1 at stage 3 = 1st o/n cooling, after 7 hrs' total snipping peels and last night soaking. No.2 @ o/n soaking stage, pre-1st boil demain. Eventually, warm sugar in, fast rolling boil and into jars. No idea when this will happen.
Bergamot scent is everywhere a bonus.
4. Birdies bounding about, bread and seed-happy, singing lots, skirmishing. 2 blue tits dived in under kitchen overhang and mucked about in old nest still tangled in clematis amandii, while & zombied through last leg of peel prep.
5. Last night's compline was filled with so much of some of the above, spin-offs, related tangents and much else. The loss of Jill Saward feeds in, too cruelly soon.

1) That there have been and still are people like Jill Saward in this world trying to support others whilst still hurting themselves.
2) A sparkling day, silvery frost this morning followed by blue sky and (when you found a sheltered corner) warming sunshine and now the most wonderful clear starry night sky.
3) He Who Knows sitting at the dining table looking perplexed as he tries to make the meccano tractor the girls gave him for Christmas, poor boy!
4) Meeting a wonderful and venerable Norfolk Terrier called Dora this afternoon while Cookie and I were out on our walk, a rare breed to find in Hampshire but she was gorgeous.
5) Finding an ITSU cookery book in the charity shop I wandered in to this morning, £2 well spent as over 100 recipes top calorie count for any of them 300 cals so much deliciousness going to be in our future menus.0 -

Evening all
Five pleasures for Thursday.
1. Another week of diet completed (I started on a Friday), another NPD and NSD too.
2. H/m food out the freezer so an instant no hassle supper just for me because everyone else was out.
3. Being able to listen to my DF talking about having just heard about the death of his oldest friend. They'd first met 73 years ago and he was DF's best man. It was a pleasure to be able to give him the time to talk, although very sad.
4. Listening to a motivational audio book (need lots of motivation right now!)
5. Sitting by the fire and sewing - feels very snug.
Sweet dreams
