Ridiculously miserable parts to the day including having to beg half a day off work to drive around looking for bigger son who we can now be sure has depression. It seems he was too depressed to stay at school.
Pleasures for today:
1) A colleague letting me use her office for the phone calls to and fro from bigger son's school to me as they tried to find him.
2) Finding bigger son and managed to say "Let's pop out for a bit of lunch, shall we?" in only a slightly strangled squeak,
3) We cleaned the hens sleeping quarters out.
4) School are arranging the counsellor that he wouldn't agree to see before.
5) Tasty tea of Jamie O's veggie chilli and rice.
6) Sons went to role playing night with my brother and brother in law.
7) I sat on the sofa and did nothing.0 -
Frith - I am glad the school are sorting some help for your bigger son, my DS had counselling at school at around the same age and it really helped him. Looking back at all they have seen and been through its a wonder they are as balanced as they are - especially after comments re staying at their fathers over xmas. My DS used to come back from his fathers and complain about having to sleep in dirty sheets as the spare bed sheets there didn't get washed between visitors
1. Although its only been 4 days at work this week with the bank holiday its seemed like a very long week ... am glad its the weekend
2. using up odds and sods from fridge / freezer for lunch & dinner
3. afternoon nap turned into early evening snoozemuch needed
4. caught up on some more recorded tv including Elementary and Blindspot... still got the cucumber patch to watch from last weeks Sherlock and I think hes on again tonight
5. a small load of washing done ....but didn't get out on the line as its started raining. At least its made a small dent in the washing pile

Frith - hope your son gets the help he needs soon.
1. Day off work. A rest was needed but not sure why.
2. Had to go shopping as toilet paper needed but very little else was bought.
Which was good as first shop since Christmas.
3. Spent some time in the garden. It was cold but some clearing up done.
4. Cooked shepherds pie and then crumble for tea with enough left to freeze.
5. Reading my book with candles lit.0 -
DD - we had a thoroughly enjoyable w/e away in Durham two years ago, we stayed in a hotel beside the river and walked over a large bridge to visit the city, the cathedral is incredible.
Thank you for the glorious musical link.
Some pleasures for the last few days,
The on-going care for darling Mum and the peace of mind it gives us her family knowing she is receiving such care, we are certainly blessed to have such a facility available in our area.
The mysterious tracks coming through the hedge at the back of the house and across the lawn to the front, too big for rabbits, fox? badger? Capt S is scouring t'internet for infra-red cameras as we speak.
Gift card received in post following complaint made to W8rose over quality of festive meat.
Following heads up in this thread have downloaded new FB series, another devotee here.
Picking up a new diary in the PC sale, the new term feeling it brings.
Edited to add that glad that school can provide the counselling needed by eldest son Frith and that he has agreed to speak to them.0 -
The trouble I have round here will last most people a lifetime!
5 Just had the SatFest of best butchers snorker, best back, haricot beans in tom sauce, star cut grilled tom, brown hash, mushrooms with poached egg on buttered toast. Tea was wolfed down as well. Tum is being rubbed.
4 Did not get my Marylyn inn last evening. Watched the grand tour, then the rugby. BoPsie also put on the train with Michael. She was over the moon as somewhere she has been was on and she tried getting one over BoP. It does not happen often! See BoP notes passim.
3 Off to get the pink tutu and sort the six pack out down the gym. Please note viewing restrictions for this activity.
2 Nite BoP will be wolfing on proper foods of Sticky chickens, dynamite mushrooms and as we has prawns left over from xmas, fresh chilled prawns instead of the normal dragon prawns. Wobbleades have been sourced from afar.
I have never run out of the need to enjoy life0 -
1. Feeling much better than yesterday, but a bit bruised from where the pain was.
2. We woke up too late to do what we had planned, as the animals kept us awake squeaking last night, tonight they may well be caged just through the night.:o
3. Watched Miracle on 34th street, can’t beat the old un’s.:)
4. Washed the floors, with a lot of animal help and my laughter, but even with the ceiling fans on it took a fair bit of drying.
5. Tonight’s tea was corned beef hash, I remember my dm making it back when, it was nice but I think I prefer it when someone else cooks it.:o Made enough mash for tomorrows meal.
6. DH got me a lovely little writing pad over Christmas, it’s small enough to take anywhere, it’s a padded goth purple with a cat on, its lovely, but I am trying to work out what to use it for, I did think the weekly food planning it’s too nice to use but I am trying not to “save” things.:D
7. Another NSD / NPD :othankfully as DH has booked in his Samsung tablet which is quite frankly not working to be repaired under warranty thankfully as he is very attached to it. But the most “local” repair place is 50miles away with an appointment on Monday we avoid the weekend shoppers. We will combine it with a visit to C0stco, I have written out a budget list that we must stick to. I am not a shopper don’t get me wrong, but I am quite looking forward to it as we haven’t been out much at all for us.:j0 -
Happy mr piano's playing has brought some peace and serenity. Shame I can't share his cooking!
Thinking of you Frith my middle one has visits from the black dog
1) day started with visit to b&q with decorator. He will start on the middle floor Monday.
2) then a trip to the dump and the cs. House decluttering carries on slowly but surely
3) mr piano and I went to king of burg for lunch. I picked up 3 crowns for tonight's slightly belated epiphany celebration and, due to getting some sort of order in the house, could find the 3 leftover crackers
4) replaced broken lamp shade in front room with one found in room of requirements. Much better, and goes really well with the curtains
5) mr piano has picked up the Xbf who is stopping over. This means we have a nice clean de cluttered guest room. Mr p and xbf are currently cooking a scrummy dinner so I will now adjourn to the kitchen.

1) An unexpected walk with Charlie retriever and his mum this afternoon, they caught up with us along one of the lanes and we walked down to and along the river with them.
2) Wonderful sight of a 6 month old very pale retriever pup that we'd just been talking to sat in the middle of a very muddy puddle by the entrance to the park with a droopy stick in his mouth flatly refusing to go anywhere despite all efforts from his dad!
3) Got a Christmas present for DD1 for next year in a charity shop this morning.
4) Rugby on the TV Glasgow Warriors vs Cardiff Blues on the Gaelic Alba channel, luckily there is red button option for an English commentary.
5) Chat to DD2 on the phone with Zebra building lego aeroplanes in the background and the news that little Orley no longer has jaundice and is doing well although he has been extra hungry today.
6) A friend of DD1s who had her first baby last week has finally been let home from hospital with him and Brian the cat now has a baby brother at home, wonderful news.0 -
1. 27 - 7:T:j:T:j- and bonus:D
Not entirely sure how...maybe a glorious young Tongan international's presence helped. Stayed after World Cup - 6 mth permit. Wanted to play. Lovely, delightful young man.
& scored 2 Beauden Barrett-type tries vicariously.
Match played on mud custard. Most excellent. Most vocal. &'s thoughtfully imaginative and considered tutorials for ref. and players alike are widely appreciated.
2. Club lunch:D &pics taken, em'd>NZ via cousins for Aunt to see. & has a 1/365 day imminent.
3. Meriva key fell to pieces in the dark. & has never wanted, used, clever-clogs keys before. Vindicated. Found 5 bits. Is that all? Managed to use blade to lock manually, walk into a Mr T to fix in decent light. Multi-fiddle faddle. Fenboys call beckons 1st thing Monday In the meantime, another youtube world of which & knew zilch.:p
4. Really loved stinging hot shower this morning.
5. Indoor hyacincth in scenty pink bloom today:T Companion budding, fat. Won't be long.

Evening all
Five pleasures from the last couple of days:
1. They were NSDs and NPDs again.
2. Got loads of sorting for work done today. Gently getting there.
3. Catching up with Desert Island Discs that I'd missed over Xmas.
4. Walked down to allotment and picked a small cabbage (one of the few that the deer haven't eaten) then forgot to use it in last night's stir fry as plannedbut I enjoyed the walk.
5. Filled in the 2017 family calendar with everything we are doing for the next few months that is known about. Took ages but made me feel slightly in control of things!
Sweet dreams
