5 You know the rules. BoP at new mill got called aside on Monday. See notes above and previous dittings. More later, but you can be a sure. Rules of BoP applied.

Quick pleasures for today as am in bed and ready for a sleep.
1) Not the best sleep but bearable.
2) Funny letter from the CSA saying the ex husband owes £1,500 of maintenance. I only get £5 a week so that's several years that were unpaid. We will never see it, though.
3) Work came and went. Was observed and heard nothing so presume that was OK.
4) Had loan car from the garage today so enjoyed pootling about in a Renault Captur. (Kaptur?)
5) Got my car back and they must have felt sorry for me because, after they attached it to their diagnostic thingy, they had washed it for me!
6) Went to the local technical college for bigger son to see if he would like to do the Electronics BTEC. Looks interesting (though the engineering one looked better to me, with a room packed with huge lathes and machines). Lovely lecturers who immediately realised Mr Surly would not cooperate so just spoke to me, occasionally throwing a smile in his direction. Also popped to see catering for smaller son. Another nice lecturer who was very quick on the uptake - "Oh, I wonder if you would be more comfortable in here away from all the noise. You can have a sneaky peek at our professional kitchen". He talked about the catering they do at Cheltenham races and the weeks of work experience they do in London (including with Roux) and (happens very rarely) I realised that this might be a step too far for smaller son. :-(
7) Enjoyed watching I'm a Celebrity.
8) In bed now with 1hwb and might watch Holby just now.0 -
Hope you found the black dress Dfv mine is ready for Monday
1) lovely goodbye to chaplain service as she moves onto her first priest job. Her wife will still be working for the cathedral part-time so we won't lose touch
2) then off to Inverness with 2 colleagues for 1 day conference
3) same jury's inn, higher floor, better view. Dinner at very nice restaurant - lamb shank curry with pomegranate seeds
4) back to work today. Huge bar of galaxy and 2 cards on my desk
5) gbf and his cp's sister came round to discuss music for funeral. Crem will only be for close family. I am on herding and greeting duty for moving bulk of mourners from church to wake hotel. It will be good to feel useful.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

* workmen continue to make progress both inside and out. The pantry looks marvelous and a new spate for tile going down while we are gone north for Thanksgiving.
* Fourteen hungry relatives coming for the feast on Thursday. I'm joyous I am not the main cook! We have divided things up and I'm making all the desserts, southern green beans and the gravy. DD1 can show off her new kitchen.
* There's a new light in hall. DD1 broke the cover over 25 yrs ago and we have just now replaced the entire fixture. We gets our money's worth.
* All errands before the trip are completed. (This is unusual which drives DH crazy) We just have to pack the pickup and go. We are taking a folding bed for DS2 to sleep on plus leftover siding that DD1 can use on their chicken coop. Thus the need to take the truck.
* Sweet family shared memories of DS1, who died three years ago today. It was not excruciating to share today. Past anniversaries have been.
* Sequoia in one more day!!! Mila misses her Quoye!!!!
I'll be saying prayers of thanks for all of you dear friends, You make my life better.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

1) Wonderful treat last night, Bingley Bong went He Who Knows phone and photos emerged! Puzzled at first as to what they were, DDs explained orientation and there in front of me were 3D images of my new to be grandsons little face, if that's NOT magic I don't know what is. He's beautiful and looks just like Zebra, he's such a cutie!!!
2) Real breakthrough with Maisie dog who stayed with us again last evening after I'd walked with her and mum, she didn't settle and sat by the front door squeaking and after a while I decided to come here into the study and she came to join me and leaned against my leg and let me stroke her for about half an hour, it's a first as she won't be touched other than by her family, we'll get there!
3) DD1 has purchased a French Horn for herself, it's an instrument she's always loved and wanted to be able to play. Last night she could do 3 identifiable notes, this morning a very triumphant message saying she can now play Merrily we Roll Along, small pleasures but good ones.
4) Looking in cupboards and freezer and finding I don't have to shop this week as I have everything I need for the next weeks menu.
5) Beautiful rainbow seen while out walking Cookie with Sue and Charlie retriever yesterday, arched right over the village and stunning!0 -
Mrs LW I take it you have made sure DD1 has got all her neighbours et alia in earshot on side? As this is the classic supportive warning...
Rousing hurrahs at sight of soon-to-be-with-us - excellent timing to be pregnant, with all that warmth aboard.0 -
I say this as a loving mother, her neighbour in the semi is very deaf!!! She plays clarinet and piano routinely (she's the pianist for the school swing band and plays clarinet in the jazz band) so they're used to that, she should be able to pick up French Horning fairly quickly and said that if she feels it's worth while and she could be any good she'll practise in the schools music suite and take some lessons with the peripatetic Brass Teacher who comes in to teach pupils. Sounded good and clear on the phone last night anyway, love that she's musical and love that she still has a silvery soprano voice at the age of 38, she sounds like a little choir boy when she whitens her voice, much pleasure given to this parent over the years, thanks Nell!!! xxx.0

It's Thursday morning here , damp and cool but after a very hot 38o start to the week I'm more than happy to put a jumper on.
Difficult past few days with results from hospital not as we would have liked. OHs tumour has grown in size and symptoms of this are increasing too. Main one pain.
However, today we are celebrating Thanksgiving and we are being grateful for what we have.
We saw Pain doctors yesterday who are trying new strategies for pain control.
We have seen many different staff from the wider medical team who are all kind and we are grateful for their care and support.
I have talked and cried and talked some more .
We celebrated our daughters 20th birthday ....true mothers love...I was up at the crack of dawn in Monday to make her a sticky gingerbread cake . It was a hot one!
Getting a seat on the rush hour trains into city in both directions.
Haggis continues on week 2 of his diet ...poor lamb!
I more than probably should be on his starvation diet but have enjoyed hospital cafe food past 3 days! Schlurp!
Very quiet son is giving a training session at work today to a colleague from Sydney, said colleague , who is equally as quiet , has been challenged to find out 10 things about son that boss doesn't already know! Aye! Good luck with that one!
Just going to call friend from home so that will cheer me up!
Have a good night and Happy thanksgiving ...especially to you [Mila /B]0 -
Pleasures for last few days
1. saw my consultant who is happy with the results of my surgery - the lump removed from my neck was apparently the size of a cricket ball  but thankfully benign.
2. bought some taco shells and had them stuffed with crispy chicken, salad. cheese, salsa, etc for tea. They were ok but a bit gimmicky - will stick to wraps next time. Pleasure is they were on offer and there is enough leftover for DS's lunch tomorrow & when I checked my receipt they were not 10% cheaper so have a voucher for next time
3. my amaxon order for one of DM's xmas pressies was cancelled with no explanationThankfully there is one other seller offering the same pre-loved DVD at the same price so I have re-ordered it - all the others are more than double the price.
4. managed to get a load of washing out on the line for a couple of hours this afternoon. The weather has been atrocious !
5. messaging with my sister and niece arranging to visit after Christmas.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Quick update tonight - am so tired this week.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Felt like I achieved something at work, even if it was just pointing people in the right direction of others who could actually help and firing off a few emails.
3) Another rat caught and, as I am typing, I can hear a mouse in the roof so will have to deal with those too!
4) Had tea in Sainsburys.
5) Phoned my dad and brother, mainly about the land where I have parked my car for 17 years (no parking with my house) is up for auction on the 1st December... :-(
6) Enjoyed I'm a Celebrity.0
