A quick update as i really need to start working
Saturday
nice walk through london - went to Planet Organic for breakfast and picked up picnic bits
met my brother and family in a pub in victoria and had a few
then we went to proms in the park - great afternoon and evening
on the train to Southend (where OH and DD had travelled that morning) got text from OH "have you heard from DS?" no, nor had they. he was uncontactable and we didn't even know whether he'd got back from his football match in manchester. Long story short, all the electrics in the house had blown, DS couldn't charge his phone or use the house phone. OH drove from Southend home (over 3 hours) at 1.30 in the morning  Arrived at 5 to find the alarm blaring, DS oblivious to it all and tucked up in bed.....:rotfl: Cost us £140 to stop the alarm..... The pleasure is that both DS and OH are alive ....
Sunday
Only a few hours sleep but functioning
Built the remainder of DD's furniture
she and i went for an all day breakfast in Wetherspoons (and a beer for me, lol)
Good trip back on the train.
Sunshine.
Yesterday
Coffee with bezzie and a catch up
Cold feet
walk to bezzie's in the sunshine
Rewrote my objectives - they look better
chicken casserole for tea with fresh strawberries and cream after..
Right, get writing...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

5 So the cooking channel has lost a programme. I am going to have to change the water on the goldfish bowl.
4 Went out on the treader this very morning, as it was deemed to be warm later. BoPsie's treader has had tyre failure. Seems the wire has come out of the tyre. Oh well, had to walk the thing home instead. New tyre required.
Note to readers, that is a new tyre, not a spare tyre
3 As the expected so called heat wave is anticipated, I can say that if you are east of BoP, the thunder and lightning is on its way to you. That includes Sparra in Sparralands.
2 Nite BoP can watch the gooners play PSG. If anyone is in Paris, my jacket has been there a while now. Pop in and get it for me please.

1) Spending most of the day yesterday in an air conditioned airport before flying home after a whole weekend at Mid 30s temperature with very high humidity in a small hotel without air con where the cold water was HOT!!!
2) Spending the night with DD2 after giving her the biggest cuddle possible and giving the unhatched baby a hug (as much as you can).
3) Popping my head round the door as the Zebra child woke up this morning and immediately having a super smiley boy shout OMA and sprint the length of his bed with his little arms wide for a 'pick up' cuddle.
3) A good and easy run home on the motorways and finding all well here.
5) HOME, just home, it doesn't matter how nice or how exciting holidays are and it doesn't matter how beautiful the scenery, the culture or the food is, HOME IS BEST!!!0 -
For today
2 more interviews completed this morning at the same place, if I am successful I would shorten on boarding for a contractor from a 4 interview process to 2...:rotfl:
Packed the van we are up and ready for the last steam fair of the season.:)
Hm Curry and rice will be tonights dinner.
Not exactly over doing it today but I have cooked up all the foraged fruits to leave it straining over night it will be jelly as no one here likes seeds.0 -

3) Went for a cup of tea with my school friend after work.
4) Had a game of football with smaller son.
5) Smaller son brought his cooking home and we shall have it for tea tomorrow.
6) Bigger son ploughed through biology and some more French homework.
7) Watched Holby City.0 -
:)* Atrociously long time spent at the cellular phone company this morning...DH went on two walks and across the street for lunch (he brought back tea)....my iPhone is now unblocked. :j
* Contractor came to look at putting up stove hood vent and will give me a price. He talks sooooo slow.
* Amazon stocking stuffers came. Half price sale :money: on seat belt cutter/window breaker>> in case of being trapped during a wreck. Not too festive but everyone needs one.
* Yearly eye exam done and Dr. announced I have a wrinkly retina. May have to have it ironed but more tests first. As Mark Twain said "Wrinkles should just indicate where the smiles have been" (and certainly NOT in the retina. ).
* Finally beating my nemesis on Words with Friends. :j:T:j:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Mid September already and i see the Christmas 2016 thread is up
1) still warm (though would be nice to see the yellow thing)
2) tasty lunch - hm broad bean salad (sadly not home grown as slugs or snails ate all my seedlings despite the protective toilet rolls)
3) finished another part bottle of shampoo - of course now i've taken over xoh's en suite i have found another load of half used lotions and potions. something very satisfying about tossing another empty bottle into recycle
4) friend brought round her oil painting i bought first night of her exhibition. last day was sunday and mine was the first red dot
5) she has also joined us as a marker and has just got her university staff card. i have been able to tell her about eduroam (free access to wifi in universities across europe), sconul (free access to most UK Uni libraries) and vpn (allowing you to watch british tv abroad so long as you have a licence which she does). always nice to pass on knowledgeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Eduroam is really handy - it pops up when you least expect it...
Sconul I haven't made use of as it's as easy to get to London, but I am soon going to be in a position where i need to use a Birmingham library.
I didn't know about vpn, there are a few times that would have been handy. But i do now, so thanks
Pleasures for yesterday

2. Coffee with friend. i do work in between all the coffees :rotfl:

4. OH cooked steak for tea. He is off on his lads holibobs today, and not back till a week Sunday  I will be making the most of the time to get my first document finished and get the house to standard..
5. "One of us" finished and tied up all the loose ends - having been quite tough to follow.
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
