1. The biggie is that Mr Z finally has a power source for his catering trailer. Means that hopefully he will be in position and opening for Thursday morning :j
2. Hot bath, deep heat, many painkillers have taken the edge off what I believe to be pulled tendons in my leg
3. Took previously made tomato sauce from the freezer (thanks Papa for donating the tomatoes), freebie diced beef, grated bendy carrot and spice into slow cooker = yummy dinner (served with 16p YS garlic bread)
4. Clothes ready for back to work tomorrow, smart dress for meeting about my winter hours. Dress was £2.49 in BHF sale :rotfl:
5. Fresh linens on the bed (nothing better) and laundry pretty much caught up :T0 -

Good evening everyone :hello:
I hope everyone has had a good few days, whether they've had a bank holiday... or not!
Back to school for me tomorrow and the children are back in on Thursday. I've forgotten how to teach, but I'm sure it'll all come flooding back at some point.
Oh and I'm an auntie! Well, my brother already had two cats, but he's rescued another kitten he found abandoned in a hedge bottom whilst working on the land. Apparently he's got a "dodgy rear end", probably why he was abandoned, but he's never one to turn a cat away. I don't think the other two are overly impressed, but hey ho!
Pleasures for the last few days:
1) Lunch party at friends, celebrating their newly done up garden. DH and I are very envious, but they do have more space than us!
2) Bought a new pair of walking boots. DH and I used to go walking loads, so we're making a concerted effort to do more, in between rugby and work.
3) Done some school work to get ahead for this week.
4) Booked tickets for a comedy night at our local pub. For £10 we get 3 comedians - one of them in October is Gary Delaney, husband of Sarah Millican. Bargain.
5) Beans on toast for supper. Life in the fast lane, eh?Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
I'm ready for bed but sons still up downstairs...
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Went to see the hens.
4) Went to Boing Zone, a huge warehouse with trampolines, foam things to jump into etc. Sons loved it. I waved from the gallery. :-)
5) Had eyebrows and beard threaded off. Beard mysteriously not up to usual strength. No bad thing.
6) Ikea afterwards and bought nothing except a heavily reduced offcut of wood and some changing colour LEDs that are now fixed along the side of smaller son's bed.
7) Bleached bigger son's shirts (they have polo shirts in the summer term so his white shirts have been in airing cupboard for nearly 6 months). Bleached then washed them and they're out on the line.
8) Went back down to see the hens at 8.30ish because bigger son wanted to see them put themselves to bed (I saw it when I went down late the other week). It is like they've agreed it between themselves because they suddenly stop what they're doing and walk in together.0 -
I love the sound of your chickens putting themselves to bed Frith
We got back from very sunny Florida yesterday and already I'm looking at holiday destinations for next year!
1. DD and I had a great time away together, I feel like she's back on track after recent stresses.
2. I overcame one of my big fears and held a baby alligator (thankfully its jaws were taped!)
3. I was delighted to see great variety in trees and consequently shades of green, not just palm trees.
4. We saw Winter and Hope at Clearwater Marine Aquarium and had a very jolly time there
5. We enjoyed fabulous air conditioning everywhere!
6. Our apartment was great - big, cool, nearly everything worked or we could work around it (internet access...), and the pool at the small complex was amazing and virtually just for us the whole time:)
7. We have come to the conclusion that whilst we love the look of beaches, we prefer pools for the lack of sand getting everywhere!
8. We had great recommendations from people we met on the beach, in shops, at our pool for fun things to do. I don't like planning every moment in great detail.
9. Thankfully we double checked our flight details a few days before leaving as I was convinced we were coming home on Monday....but we left on Sunday!!
10. We found some great places to eat that understood that not everyone eats chicken and other great slabs of meat!
11. Loved turning right at red traffic lights and doing u-turns on highways all over the place
12. Bought myself lots of clothes - and even though the exchange rate is pants these days (lol!), was pleasantly surprised at their cost.
13. Enjoyed watching a rather gorgeous All-American boy try to inexpertly chat DD up - he had a crush on her, but really didn't know how to communicate. DD pretended not to notice, as is the way of the tween, lol.
14. Loved having DD all to myself again, and laughing so hard, dealing with her little strops and having more cuddles than I can remember in a long time
15. Our beloved dog's suspected spleen tumour which necessitated the removal of the organ the day we left for America, turned out to be a benign growth. What a relief. His recovery has been spectactular, and earned him a big hug and a treat from the vet the other day, as he was amazed at how well he's bounced back from the op
16. Enjoyed one ride at Universal, and it was probably the 'easiest' one of them all. Glad for DD that we went there, and quite enjoyed the HPotter stuff, but don't think I'll ever feel the need to go to a 'park' again.
17. The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful......
18. Slept like a log, cuddled up to DD yesterday afternoonWe've shared a bed for so long now, last night felt odd with her back in her own room.
19. Have been quite organised, and have nearly finished emptying suitcases - unlike when we were away, when we didn't bother unpacking, just grabbed things out of the suitcases as and when we needed them.
20. Looking forward to baking a birthday cake for my dad with DD later this morning0 -
5 for yesterday
1) gorgeous weather - xoh walked me in. we ambled, it was very pleasant
2) kitchen curtains had arrived in my absence - xoh took them home
3) nice beef stew (out of the freezer) for lunch
4) when i got home xoh and dd2 had put up one set of curtains and putting up 2nd pair. they look beautiful, but then the door window looked bare. size i needed 'low on stock' unlike all other sizes which are now 'out of stock' and a further 5% off. meant to be
5) dd2 has pair of memory foam trainers which are a bit big for her - now passed onto me, just as i was considering buying a new pair.
and of course today is 1st day in new chapter. by now xoh and ds will be heading to manchester. a few tears were shed but all will be well.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Glad you had a super holiday Kittikins
LOL at Frith's chickens
VickyA - i bought new walking boots in February but have yet to wear them in....:ofor Ampersand. i try to remember to copy before i hit post. But i do sometimes forget
Zaxdog - ouchy on the tendons...
BoP - welsh locos? I've probably seen them all :rotfl:
Mrs M - i too need to do a freezer inventory - but it is really too rammed to get in there. September is 'operation eat the freezer';)
Mhags - is sticky date pudding like sticky toffee pudding? That is my signature dish.
Mrs LW - fingers crossed for DD and Pingu.
DD - all will definitely be well. it sounds like it's time. But tears are natural and healthy, and i expect there'll be more. You're doing great.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Train journey home was not as manic as it might have been for BH monday and i got lots done. Just as well as i've done nothing since
2. Walking home in the warm sunshine (I like warm sunshine, can you tell?)
3. Did the shopping - the pleasure being that the fridge is full of health again
4. DD is feeling better :T
5. Had a barbecue - and then sat by the chiminea which was just burning nicely... OH has a tendency to light raging fires (which might be why the chiminea now has a hole in the bottom, the top and the side), but this was a lovely one.
Have a great day all. I really need to knuckle down ....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
:heartpuls to the needy and others that want a beat!
5 Dramatic end to the days play yesterday. Clean sweep. Double game of backgammon with BoPsie, ended 1-1. See, BoP not victorious in every game. Then a quick slieght of hands with the cards in cribbage. Then we had to get the Captains Mistress out and play with her! Fast games and who actually keeps score! For those in the colonies, you know as something like connect four, but we over here play with balls!
Scrabble was not played last evening!
4 Just done the pictures from yesterday and the colours look fantastic. BoPsie enjoyed her fresh sandwich picnic and concentrate of orange with eau de faucet. Biscuit of digestive and proper cheese was also wolfed down.
3 The bears came off and BoP is up this weekend. Please remember that BoP could lose his hard earned pennies in other ways, such as a pension [STRIKE]scheme[/STRIKE]scam or endowment policy!
2 Day BoP is off into town to sort out his pills and other things. To keep fresh, BoP is taking with him a bottle of eau de faucet mixed with concentrate of orange. Other drinks are available. Just had leaflet through the box of letters with regard some fantastic offers at some sour dough cheese on toast establishment. It suggests a super day yesterday where I can spend all of BoPsie's housekeeping on two slices of cheese on toast with tomatoes. Avoid!
No!, I meant this!
Edit VJs Mother. Ivor. Ivor the Engine!0 -
Good evening , it stayed dry after being forecast to rain. Bit cooler than yesterday though. Got a load of washing dry though.
Nice chat with friend from home .
Wore my new to me $1 jeans. I think they are my favourite new to me jeans.
Finished library book I'd started yesterday , back up and borrowed another.
Made a lasagne with half of the bolognese sauce we were given last night. It was a huge portion.
Had a snooze.
Played freezer Tetris trying to get a chicken pie in!
Caught up on all my correspondence .
Admired the lovely spring flowers in the gardens.
Have a good one0 -
Will this Sit and Stay today? Know I should copy, vjm, but don't, feeling conxn here is tenuous enough. Remember sparrer spoke of following same advice.
On verra. Begin again.
1. Ate my first 2 figs from the slip from friend. Hasn't even been in a year and is branching well with another flush of figs coming on. Hadn't seen them at all until attacking front dig. Big digging yesterday also gave up 5 rogue taties, having formed root network in deliberately left weedbed.
2. Pair of peacock butterflies danced off nectarine trunk, against which & tapped spade. Apologised, of course. Back down from roof they flew as I walked off.
3. Beautiful melodious late song from back trees, but couldn't see singer.
4. !!!!-up at The Alma meant No ABs Bledisloe Cup rtn match from the Caketin:eek::eek::eek:. Patron mortified, couldn't understand as he[a]is passionate about watching the oval ball had pre-set and checked and re-checked [c] all the laminated prog. flyers announced it recorded for mid-day.
Oh dear, cricket instead. Black Caps yes, but ABs NO!!!!
& has found it on youtube and loved what she eventually saw:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwYLDLbkT-Q
[Mila, please take in the start, a strong and powerful kamate which begins @7m20-ish in. Another great match. & is encouraged to such pushiness by your own sound and empathetic report:D 2 beautiful 1st-half tries from Israel Dagg and more came. Much dirty play, as expected/instructed from Cheika's niggled Wobblies after last week's AB domination.]
Monsieur Poite has real troubles refereeing this one. His voice mikes in gallic English are gems, and Daniel Lienert-Brown is another AB pointer in the Southern Cross[ we have many]. Stepped right up. Nice timing for next World Cup,
5. Passed on to &:

Annoyingly, feel I must finish it before I can start anything today.:o
It rang true for lender.

This must be a stand-alone as it's so special, although bop has recounted similar, posts passim:
'You will continuously receive a daily pay-out of $7,000 [USD|] :T. Mrs Franca Lee from Western Union Malaysia, has chosen & especially. & can collect this bounteous sum from any of the numerous outlets in &'s location.
Hmm, suspect Frith and Lainey and & have the same large number of outlets in our outpost-y rural locations.
& undertakes to share such booty here - that's a promise!
