BOP: Hope your interview went well.

    I keep thinking I’ve posted when I haven’t ops.
    1. Last commute for the week, working from home the rest of it.:o
    2. Prefer the cool breeze today it’s been nice.:p
    3. Popped to the post office as its late opening to pick up my missed parcel, its my half price maxi dress and it’s fantastic. Bright colourful, heavy jersey I would never have bought it on the hanger but really pleased with it, DH loved it and it was half price. Result.:D
    4. Tonight’s food is a big salad (read anything from fridge) with hot new potatoes and fresh bread and I've just had far to much feeling far too full.:o

Hello. I've been lurking on the forum for a long time and I really enjoy reading the posts on here. The pleasures of the day thread seems a nice place to be! :)
    These are my pleasures.

    1. I've finally managed to do a proper meal plan for the week.
    2. Spent the morning up the loft sorting things out to go to the charity shop before we move house.
    3. Been sitting with my little boy (2) doing jigsaws. He gets so excited when he completes them
    4. Enjoying the sunny weather, but not enjoying the heat so much.
    5. I didn't burn the potato wedges that we had with our tea tonight and they were actually pretty tasty.

    1. Got home in time to join in with dinner yumminess and then had a lovely time in the rec with DD, trying to talk to the red kites, having a throwing competition, being ignored by the ponies in the back field, watching in amazement at the glory that is my girl :)

    2. Have spent a lot of time out of class at various meetings and this afternoon, a rehearsal of the talent show, and feel much better for it! (Sad but true....we're all feeling the pressure of the heat and it being the end of the year, but we still have to get through the long, hot days until next Tuesday!)

    3. Despite what I've just written, still feeling very touched by the lovely cards and whiteboard messages that the class are starting to bombard me with - I KNOW they're not all bad, they are learning to communicate and understand the hands they've been dealt with, and cope with the rigours of the Y4 curriculum! As well as learning their ABCs, they have also learned this year that shouty Ms Kittikins also loves them (as Jesus taught us :) ) and that you don't bellow "What?" you say, politely, "Pardon?" and you always say please and thank you if you want the right kind of response from Ms K :) Hopefully some things will stick with them evermore...

    3. The fact it's cooled down enough for me to be able to start falling asleep whilst I was watching TV with my parents.

    4. Ordered USD from Messrs J Lewis when they were having an offer with a higher exchange rate for our forthcoming trip to Florida, so excited (but wish I could remember where I put my passport.....!!)

    5. One of my BFF is visiting school tomorrow, to see her first class at their leavers' assembly and to hang out. Yay!

Smaller son just offered me Maltesers as I said goodnight to him. He had saved them especially. Ate one and said goodbye to another bit of wisdom tooth... second rebuilding appointment is on Friday. It is now a crescent shape of vicious sharpness.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) A day of watching Sport Day activities, from anywhere that looked comfortable to sit, in the shade. I spent all my time at school dodging PE and certainly never took part in a single event outside of lessons! Still can't see the appeal.

    3) Took bigger son to the doctors and have never seen that particular chap so happy! They are moving from their pokey 1960s block to a purpose built place on Friday. This rather quiet doctor suddenly started telling us he had "sat at this desk, looking at this wall, since I started as a GP 20 years ago". He went to get the book with the right dosages in and did a little T shirt flapping twirl in front of his fan!

    4) We had an ice cream by the river.

    5) Let the hens out (bought new grain today) and had 2 eggs.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    7) It has gone cooler!

    1) The smell after a storm
    2) The cool breeze on my walk to work
    3) The view of the sky from our loft extension velux Windows
    4) My cat snuggles
    5) Decent gravy!

Waving hello from Abu Dhabi where we are stuck for the night!
We were kept on Tarmac at Melbourne for 4 hours before take off so missed flight. In a hotel for a few hours will at least get a meal and a shower. It's blooming 38o out there overnight temp!

Anyway counting our blessings , better to be on a safe plane than an unsafe one. We have to also wait at Manchester for 4 hours to get a flight to Edinburgh so instead of early morning arrival it will be late at night, which eats into a day . However , absolutley nothing we can do about it but go with the flow .

Watched 2 movies dozed and dozed some more , ate fruit platters as my meals of choice.

There was one angry guy kicking off at airport as flights have been changed and everyone else was just shaking their heads at him. We are a bit peed off but in reality the airline are doing what they can and as I say better to be late than not here at all!

Life has been a bit crazy, trying to get organised for this trip which has all been organised in under a week. I had work at the weekend and could have seen it far enough. Other kitchen colleague has been made manager in my 3.5 week absence and 2 new staff started, would have been nicer if boss had thought to tell me beforehand. She was made manager ( which I honestly don't mind) over me as I won't be there for too much longer and can't commit to time as OH is ill. I will leave when I have to care for him full time. So the sensible part of me knows all that but the emotional part of me ( which is a big part of me) is a teensy bit peed off but in the grand scheme of things she is welcome to it!

There are signs of spring around the gardens, buds, bulbs coming up, stunning sunrises and sunsets, so still much to be appreciated every day.

We have experienced so much kindness and love since OHs terminal diagnosis and whilst we don't need much help yet I will shout out when we do. I think we , kids and I have days when it's easier to tell others and days when we keep quiet! We assess the situation! Dealing with someone else's sadness and disappointment about it is rather difficult and when you're upbeat at that moment and they get upset it brings you crashing down.

Just before we left yesterday we received a very lovely christmas care package from a friend in UK. Full of sweets. Let most for kids but hid some for my return :)

Right , I'd better try and rest .

    Love to all :)

Mhags your boss should have talked to you first before making such a move. I think it was poorly done. Fingers crossed for the rest of your trip going smoothly.

    * BoP, I thought we were going to need to put in adoption papers for the plumber! But he will be finished tomorrow. :j Now we will need to have our floor tile torn out and have it replaced. The saga continues.

    * Creole type chicken dish created with red beans and rice as a side. DH and DS happily full.

    * Phone calls from two of the daughters who had really good days at work to report. Makes my mama heart smile.

    * New section of cinder block fence almost complete. Most of the old cinder block was reused. Very :money:

    * Plans for weekend travel aborted by DD2 saying she is coming here instead. More money saved.:D
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

5.Ant free day - having some problems with them in and out of the house, bah!
  • Mhags, Abu Dhabi. The worlds only polo mint airport!

Now where was BoP. Ah, PS on P! Classic though no one would dare say so today! I'm off to use the lift.

5 Was up the north last of the day. Got to top of the M5 to find the car park solid. Luckily BoP has a skill with his bulldozer, and cleared a path through the chaos and sped through Wolverhampton! Got there with an hour to spare and then ...
Be nice to know! On the way home the BoP bulldozer edged on the bypass for FrithShire, so a quick wave as I sped through was done, as per the usual rules!

4 Now it seems all the decent foods that BoP has talked on and on and on and on and on and on about these last few eons, has done yous all no good at all! Now BoP, bought up on a diet of bread, dripping, and marmite is saddened to find he has a vitamin B12 deficiency! Not only that, but the daily walk, in the recent glorious sunshine, to the Inn, has done me no good at all. We all have vitamin D deficiency as well! Not doing my heart any good this news. So get out of the shade, and onto the window seat! To think I was only away a day as well!

3 Just fed neighbours cat, and she was stuck in her garden patch, well protected. Not for moving last eve. This morning went in to find two deadstock. Seems that our Raffles has taught her a thing or two!

2 Last eve we had the second trouncing of the Chicken Curry, topped with BoP's home made pan fried rice, with free range eggs, peppers and mushrooms. Recipes are available on request!

Fantastic News, you do not need to use that!

Ca very weary wave from Manchester airport which has been the most security conscious of all so far.

We are officially knackered and still have anther 3 hours to wait for our flight into Edinburgh , hopefully our luggage is there and we can pick up our car and then head to my aunts for bed and breakfast as opposed to breakfast this morning as was planned and then a drive home, will drive home tomorrow .

Not much charge on iPad....adaptor plug is in suitcase!

    See you in Scotland !
