DfV That is a hand down recipe from nan of BoP. Hand stirred and matured near the stove. Never sees the refrigerator. Remember, refrigerators are for chilling the wobbleades! So Yesterday. I mean Poached eggs so yesterday!

Skint. I made the mistake on a Thursday morning by not putting fuel in the hawk and sending the thing on its way. Al Kharj 2nd August 1990! Mind you, the Chinese meal in Baghdad on the night of 12th July 1990 was not bad either!

And who enquired about cumin. Soap and water for the suggestion. xmas foods shall contain Whisky, nutmeg and Mixed Spice!

5 Just had a mega beastfest! 2 Snorkers, best back, smoked of course, pan grilled mushrooms, star cut grilled toms topped with sage, garlic and pepper. Fried tatties, toast buttered and marmite, and 5 egg scrambled in melted butter. Washed down with concentrate of orange and fresh spring water, on tap. Rubs Tum!

4 Watching the golf. Saw Gary Player, and for an eighty year old, man that guy is still one hit away from lots of other people. Got the thing running on iPda thing at the moment as doing some graphics. Will be down later.

3 Too much ades of wobbles last evening so BoPsie has to now clean up from the released tiger. How does he get out I never know. Oh, and that pan that the fab five egg scrambled was done it. Yes, it is burnt on to boo gar ree!

2 Night is a fab film night inn, with too many now to watch in one sitting. Not a Monroe, this time. More later.

Just had message that old neighbour who has C for the last few years is on his way out. Only way I can put it. So in the vents of the last few days, some people live their life to the full, others take life.

It is mans inability to deal with his own inhumanity

Been a bit strange at work. Every day you hear of another going and another looking due to being totally unresourced and undervalued. Has work always been like this? And then nice and then turkey. What a terrible week, and what a joy this thread is
    1) Dfv's comment re my new academic diary. Optimistic about the adventures I might have in this one
    2) 1st week of a lodger has gone ok. A friend of a friend might be looking for a short term stay
    3) last meeting of the day offered me a lift to the pub where I was meeting friends, saving me the bus fare
    4) had an enormous pot of tea for £2. Lovely chat, good end to the week
    5) then to dd1's new flat via kebab shop. So overall a very mse os Friday evening

My heart goes out to all who have been and will be affected by the atrocity in Nice for years to come.

    1. Dug up my elephant garlic, the size of a tennis ball. The French would be proud of it! Will split it when it's dry and plant one of the cloves along with the 5 bulbils that were clinging to the base for next year's harvest. There's enough garlic to last me the best part of a year.
    2. Trained my first two people for the telephone helpline, went well and they both understood my explanations! Looking forward to having them on board to take the pressure off the rest of us a little bit
    3. Going to the local Lavender Farm for tea this afternoon, one of my favourite places which does yummy food. I'm wearing a purple dress and a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me as in The Warning by Jenny Joseph. And the sun is shining, hooray!
    4. The elec/gas co has put a refund into my bank :T
    5. So proud of myself, I sent an email on the new-to-me phone my s-i-law gave me, I previously had one of the original bricks. Wow, sparrer is entering the 20th c!

Have a good afternoon, be thankful for what you have :)

    1. Just arranged various deliveries to occur to DF for when DH and I are away, foods etc.

    2. Just bought in various air dried washing loads and hung out 2 more in the hope it will start drying more before I get up in the morning.:rotfl:
    3. We had a really random thing come up, we talked last night about how we need a motor mover for the caravan these days and our old one that started off life second hand, was recovered from our written off van and continued for more years is on its last legs. I had a quick look on gumtree just as one was posted in the last 30 mins not to far from us, half price, brand new etc. I sent an email, he phoned. He explained about his father passing, we went over, saw it was legit, literally brand new half price as because it’s being sold on there’s no warranty and of course DH has to fit it. We picked it up and got on so well we swapped numbers to keep in touch. Can’t help but believe someone’s looking out for us.:o:o:)
    4. Visited dad on the way to picking up no 3., it wasn’t a good day for him, but we spent time sorting tidying and cleaning. We are going to have to fire the carers and find carers who do “care”.:(
    5. Candles burning, dh asked for takeout duly arranged a coupon for it and just snaffled.

    Quick pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) Not a bad sleep and a lie in!

    2) Made bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast.

    3) Sons are at their father's. He decided he had to have some ex battery hens too so they have had an exciting afternoon picking them up. 2 of the hens look tatty and one only has feathers around her head. Bigger son does not know if that one will survive overnight. :-( I keep getting messenger updates with photos.

    4) I went to Hereford and found a smart work shirt in a charity shop. Also in the sale fold up rainmacs for when we go on holiday. Had lunch in my favourite caf!.

    5) Also popped to Ludlow but nothing doing there except many tourists.

    6) Moved all the furniture in the living room and have painted it! It will need another coat (boo!) but hopefully will be looking better by the end of tomorrow. Curtains are down and in the washing machine.

    7) Watched Casualty.

    8) In bed now with 1hwb and about to listen to Dead Ringers again. I think I fell asleep before the end yesterday.

    * Hamis McBeth on YouTube. Why do they have to change and condense and rearrange perfectly good stories for a series on TV? I'm enjoying watching anyway.

    * NSD. Always welcome!

    * A great nap!

    * The plumber called and will be here Monday, so progress will start again.

    * Shredded some paperwork. Always a good feeling and food for my compost pile.

    * 12 jalapeños from the garden and now in the freezer.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

    Saturday pleasures

    1. got up with DS at 5am for a cuppa before he left for early shift - then went back to bed and eventually dozed back off till 10am !

    2. lovely sunshine - couple of loads of washing done and line dried

    3. more weedkiller dispersed - hopefully garden should look tidy one day

    4. spatchcock garlic chicken (aldi £3.79) & roasted veg for tea - cheaper than a takeaway and just bunged in oven - chicken came in its own roasting tin - quick and easy, my kind of cooking ;) and less washing up !

    5. found some new phones in the argos sale - triple set for £24 . Two of the downstairs ones have stopped working after years of loyal service - one was bought at a car boot for £2 and the other was inherited from DP's when they changed their house phone and they have lasted years but change of batteries has made no difference so time to replace them

Must go and pick them up later .... off back to bed just now though. Have a good sunday everyone x

Skint - check the 4 phone sets aren't reduced to less than the 3 phone sets? We went for three (armed with Which codes) & son tugged out a box of 4 reduced to a pound less than the three. We now have an official & under warranty spare!
    Happy shopping!
  • Tut tut. Skins. Pre ordained foods! Lesson no: 45 during apprenticeship. Never eat double processed foods. That is food processed once, then taken elsewhere and processed again! Think loaf of bread and that week old sandwich on the emporium shelf for a week. Naughty step!

5 Emporuim w8rs raided this morning on the squeesy squirted. Zapped five brats as well! Buzzard bought, not with added carp. Fresh. Cauliflower, and carrots bought. Problem. We have had Bat On Carrots last time, and this mix will not be good enough for door stops. Dilemma. Stuffing mixed properly, with added sage, onions, chopped. Back wrapped snorkers were nearly stolen by Raffles. He's a Tom.

4 Talking of pu55y, looking after neighbours cat, she was meowing like a good one. Bowl and treats filled. Job done. Raffles not impressed.

3 Snorker and best back this morning. No beating on five egg scrambled today. Just poached on hot buttered toast and marmite. Mushrooms, tea. Rubs Tum. Just had ham sandwich, see above, freshly made by BoPsie. Lemonade was drunk. Rubs Tum.

2 Yesterday ended up mega beast out. Not only the usual sticky chickens, but we got pizza and scampi. Proper scampi as found in Fish Dock No1! Proper foods. Nice to see how others live. No worries, will not be repeated in the near future. The John was inn form this morning. Please do not try this at home. BoP is a professional!

No waste was created inn this post.
If you love life, don't waste time waiting for it. Create your happiness today!

My weekend OS pleasures are mainly money saving:

    1. Mr Z delivering for a local takeaway so Friday: free curry & Saturday: free mixed pakora. Hopefully a pizza tonight.

    2. Good bargains for tonight's dinner: mange tout & baby corn 7p, beansprouts 3p and rice noodles 6p. Will be stir-fried in coconut oil and spice

    3. Eclectic lunch of: pork stuffing balls, falafel, poached eggs and spaghetti hoops. All from press/freezer

    4. Restricted to house by sore tummy and it's raining too  which on the bright-side is saving us cash on petrol

    5. Been asked to do an extra hour at work tomorrow which will count as OT :D
