Skint: Agatha Raisin on TV, where I missed that..
1. Work over for another day, I had a bit of an off day but got a lot done.:o
2. DH - love him to bits. I have been struggling with work a bit, but we are taking a break shortly. On a whim I sent him an email with a smallholding property in literally the middle of no where and while it’s not quite right for us, thankfully as it’s this time next year we should be looking! It is something we are thinking of viewing. It’s what we are working towards and has made me feel motivated and happy again.
3. Face pack, hair pack and nails, trying to feel human despite some heavy duty painkillers.
4. I’ve food planned and I am about to take the things out of the freezer to remember this week.
5. Unexpected animal snuggles.
6. Bright red crocosmia? And lily’s all out, the buddleia is starting to bloom as well.0 -
Five pleasures for today:
1. My lovely daughter in law called and stayed for ages just chatting.
2. I have moved all of our paintings and prints around and am enjoying new 'scenery' in our living room.
3. A neighbours cat, missing for five days, (posters all over the estate) has been found safe and sound in another neighbours garden shed ( they were away on holiday) She is a little thinner but was otherwise fine and was purring joyously when I visited this afternoon
4. Happy neighbours :-)
5. Even though the rain has poured down all day it was a pleasure to gaze out of the window of a dry, cosy room and day dream a little. After which I lost myself for a while in medieval England. Books are always a pleasure here0 -
Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons had reasonable days at school. Bigger son got on with his English homework (with me sitting over him). It is a talk on "Is Britain a Christian Country?" The lengthy response to his emails came from the British Humanist Association - nothing from the C of E!
3) Smaller son saw a yr 7 pupil crying outside the hall because he'd forgotten his dinner money. Son gave him £2 :-)
4) We have non timetable days all week at work so today was all about Hinduism and I have a henna tattoo.
5) Tasty tea then bigger son made pancakes.
6) 3 egg day from the hens and we gave the lady who rents us the allotment half a dozen eggs.
7) Went to play football and for a walk in the forest.
8) Nearly forgot! I'm no fan of this gentleman but this clip has made us laugh all evening!

1. Managing to decant shampoo without spilling any. It rarely happens.
2. Tea of toad in the hole which we all enjoyed and used up sausages from the freezer and had with frozen mixed veg which I have no idea where they came from as I have never brought them.
3. Good day at work busy but warmish. It has been freezing.
4. DS2 helping his brother out.
5. DH arriving home at a reasonable time.0 -
Hi all, here's mine for Monday:
1. Managed to read a whole book uninterrupted
2. A nice steady day - no chaos!
3. Sausage sarnies
4. Last duty day at work before I leave for my new job
5. Had a clear out of all my handbags0 -
Evening all, it's been so, so wild and windy today .
Today's been full on with hospital schmospital stuff.
Started the day with a call to friend back home.
Did a lot of waiting around today , met new to us people today , everyone kind.
Exciting plans may be getting made...will update when we know for sure.
OH made cottage pie ( by my instructions) one for tonight and one for the freezer.
Do have a good Tuesday . I've been a bit mixed up with days since we've been on holiday and I've not been at work...have to remind myself what day we are on.0 -

Pleasures for today (still only Tuesday!)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) In our off timetable week, today I did Art all day. I think the most help I was with that was hoovering up at the end! Not unenjoyable, though.
3) Went out for a cup of tea with my school friend after work.
4) Bought 3 new table knives (Is that what they are called? As opposed to kitchen knives) so now we won't have to wash and use the same 3 constantly!
5) Went to see the hens - 2 egg day and found 3 toads on the allotment so popped them out of the fence because the hens try and kill them.
6) Had some leftover pasta bake for my tea. When I had finished, realised nearly all of my top left wisdom tooth has gone, thus ruining my 41 year no filling/work done spree. :-( I don't know what the dentist will be able to do because there is gum where there used to be tooth! I don't know what happened to the piece either... :-/
7) Watched Holby.
8) In bed already for French/German revision on line. 1 hwb as it is so cold.0 -
Welcome haras nednats
This wanderer returns albeit briefly, yet again, will need a whole day to catch up with the posts I've missed. I have missed you, wish I had more me time but doesn't look like that's going to happen.
1. Cider festival at DD's pub, super hog roast and jam sessions. Lasted three days with a healthy amount raised for Clic Sargent
2. Went to a book reading and signing, read the book the next day and was surprised I enjoyed it so much. Am now looking for others by the author
3. Had a lovely lunch in a tiny village tea room with a friend I've not seen for an age, both researching our family trees so lots of stories to exchange about that and catching up with each other.
4. Nominated to become training officer for telephone help line. I thought my working days were over, I was wrong - but I don't get paid for this one
5. A duckling appeared in my garden, no idea from where as I'm at least 1/2 a mile from the river. Neighbours both sides and I were trying to catch him but he was so quick and very vocal! Managed to get him after several minutes creeping up and surrounding him, got him into the cat carrier and took him to the river where he happily paddled away to find Mum. The whole videoed on neighbours phone much to the amusement of family and friends. It made me feel a bit guilty about the hoisin duck wrap I'd had for lunch!
Sweet dreams
ps anyone seen Summer?0
