Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A better sleep!
2) Feeling well again. Bigger son still had emergency toilet visit at 4.30am but is now well too.
3) Work went by :-/
4) Met my friend after work for a cup of tea.
5) Had the most snivelling passive aggressive email I've ever read from my old solicitor. "I'm sure you were made aware at the time...." etc. Denying all knowledge of there being a problem despite the fact it has been spelled out by one independent solicitor, one mortgage company AND the Land Registry. Got email open on another window and shall fire out my response just now.
6) Went to see the hens and they had another half an hour of galloping round the allotment. Bigger son very heartened to see they follow him around. :-)
7) Bigger son made me a bird box at school so we put that up.
8) Smaller son had one of his dreams. He has very few and they're always fantastic wish fulfilment dreams! He is very partial to cartons of orange juice (always a few lying around) so he dreamed he had a party in this house, except it had moved to a large American city. His school friends were there and an Eddie Stobart truck pulled up outside and a man with a fork lift truck got him to sign a clipboard that his friend had ordered him - 2400 cartons of orange juice! This friend was at the party and said, "Well, I know you like them" :-) :-)
9) Mum is now booked in for her cataract/corneal transplant operation but not allowed to drive until then.0 -
BoP hope they get you sorted PDQ !! ((Hugs)) to Bopsie xx
Get well now all poorly children MHags DD & Frith DS ! It seems to be a night for it as DS has just phoned to say hes on the way to A&E having been bitten at work  Thankfully his jabs are up to date - tetanus within last 10 years and hep A & hep B so hopefully there will be no lasting effects !

Also found a personalised asti label on ebay for a few £ so ordered that with the message to be printed .. "Happy 21st Birthday (his name) Love mum x " Thought it would make it a bit special.

pirate Pete hope Jenny's okay!
Well. I'm not long in from hospital with a doped up on painkillers child! Spent an afternoon in A&E ....I took a book. Have managed to bring her specialist appointment forward to next week and hoping that something can be done, sooner rather than later. We are all waiting on her hand and hip!
Lots of hot water bottle water has been watering the plants ( once it's cool)
Anther cold and windy day but stayed dry and washing was dried on line. Had ironed this morning but now there's more to do! Never blooming ending!
Lovely dog cuddles.
I have PTA tonight in an hour, which I'm looking forward to...shall get a badge with my name on it
OH will be home by the time I get home from PTA, strange without him last night, been a while since I've locked up!
Had a lovely chat with a friend from home, who's mum died recently. We had a good old blether. She was telling me she is going to live minimalisticlly having had to clear her mums house.....6 boxes of stockings with seams on them, numerous dinner sets and cutlery sets never ever used. I continue in my quest to de clutter.
Have a lovely day0 -
pirate pete now there's a name from the past! Work has been mayhem. 296 distance learners started 2 weeks ago, my inbox has been working overtime, as have I. So for the last week
1) waved mum and friends off on 13 day cruise from Dundee. Was rather emotional. Can track her progress http://www.cruiseshipposition.com/cruise-maritime/ms-magellan-position/
2) glorious sunshine for 3 days (though xoh still insists on using tumble drier!!!)
3) stress of work, lack of time to exercise has caused 8 pounds weight gain over last 4 weeks (oops). please to report back to eating sensibly and reaching my steps target
4) DD2 started new job yesterday in Edinburgh
5) Mariners woo hoo. all fingers crossed bop and rather thrilled for the foxes. have been sending my team virtual pizza for all their hard workMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 371 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 100 -
The testing continues
5 Happy pills still being taken and BoPsie has upset her little toe. She has keeled over, it looks serious, but what can BoP do!
4 I missed the cake yesterday, apologies, but crumbs, what else can I say! Just having elevenses with chocolate covered biscuit. Not dunking.
3 Just about had enough of violence adverts on tv and the internet. One again last night before the football, yet ignorance of the real louts. puts me off. At least last week in getting money off in S, I successfully removed 8 copies of airgun world and put them in the freezer. Why these have to be on the bottom shelf I do not know. Father BoP never bought me a gun, not a toy! he expressed that if I wanted one, I should join up and do it for real! Each time moves me further away from football!
2 Night could be a games night.
I seem to have outlived a swimmer! There is nothing I can say though!0 -
1) A lovely tall elegant glass candlestick found in a charity shop this morning.
2) YS bargains in T*sco , a shoulder of pork joint, some dolchelatte cheese and 2 lovely lean pork chops!
3) A dry walk this afternoon but under leaden skies and so sticky outside I think there must be thunder very soon.
4) Things in bloom, wisteria, cherry blossom, the last lingering camellias, lilac in all it's different colours, hawthorn in profusion, the odd first head of elderflowers and wild honeysuckle and bushes of 'mock orange' philadelphus with masses of buds ready to pop.
5) My big old apple tree has finally popped little leaves today, perhaps we haven't lost him after all, hoorah!0 -
1. Live music club.
2. Sunshine still.
3. £25 Love 2 Shop vouchers in post, survey site draw prize, now where to spend? Select? Wilkinson's? Argos? Peacocks? Shoe Zone?
4. Rehomed an unwanted, unused spiraliser as a tombola/raffle prize.
5. Ironing summer clothes.
6. Just posted this on FB and it's got a few likes already so I thought I'd share it here:
An entirely typical snapshot of my life:
Monday: Spider in bath. Cannot have shower, put towel draped over edge of bath for spider to climb out of bath.
Put out another towel to dry hands with.
Tuesday. Spider in sink. Brush teeth, wash hands etc in bath after shower. Put towel draped over edge of sink for spider to climb out of sink.
Put out another towel to dry hands with.
Wednesday. Spider has developed affinity with towels and is sat on top of it in bathroom.
Put out another towel to dry hands with.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Pleasures for today (Day off work 1)
1. DS got home at 3.45am after A&E visit and writing up his report - all clear just antibiotics in case of infection. Was glad to have him home safe and glad to see my bed !
2. I got up at 7am and took my car to the garage for 8.20am. Lots of free cups of tea provided whilst waiting for free taxi home.
3. had a fry up for brunch (is it brunch at 9.30am ?) Sausage bacon egg beans enough to keep me going till tea time
4. it stopped raining thankfully, so I walked to hairdressers house about 25 min each way. Good to get some exercise and fresh air
5. Had my hair cut and coloured - it was really long and lank and is now a very short bob and feels so much lighter
6. afternoon nap - much needed
7. was picked up by garage and went to collect my car. The doors are now all fixed and no further problems diagnosed so fingers crossed nothing else comes up !
8. picked up a bottle of asti on way home on offer - for DS's birthday next month
9. ice-cream ! They were on offer when I got the bottle of asti so I couldn't resist
10. sunny afternoon, after the rain and fog this morning, so managed to get a load of washing done and still out on the line. Tidied up and dishwasher on.
Well that was my first day off work - got Dr appointment in the morning so I am just writing a list of jobs to do tomorrow. Feel like I must get some jobs done around the house to justify the time off work !0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗

Skint: You are doing so so well on your no takeaways aim, I am so impressed. I’ve been waiting 4 months now for our amazing Chinese and I can’t wait much longer.:o
BOP: Glad BOPsie is taking care of you, and Jenny gets some work done.
1. I’ve spent the week trying to keep tiredness at bay.
2. Ploughing through the freezer stocks and about to have a slice of salted caramel cake..:o
3. Really looking forward to a bath tonight, so hot and sticky all day long, I don’t think this office “does” air con.:)
4. Picked up free newspapers for littertrays just about to sit here and do a mammoth staple removal.:rotfl:
5. I am going to have to ignore my hairdresser phobia and get my hair done as it’s looking more and more like a frizzy nest than long locks.:rotfl:0 -
Just been listening to sons in their bunkbeds. Bigger son was telling smaller son, "Well, you're in that year 8 phase where you're basically a mung bean - you'll be more sensible in year 9"!
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work passed by, again.
3) Work was interrupted by bigger son's school phoning to tell me he has an after school detention for printing out a "Wanted - Dead or Alive" poster with a picture of his headteacher on. :-/
4) Sons had their new passport photographs taken and I posted the forms off.
5) Pheasant casserole and dumplings for tea.
6) All good with the chickens are we let them out for an hour tonight.
7) Changed my DuoLingo language practice to German, ready for holidays. :-)
8) Bigger son had a praise postcard in the post for excellent work on MacBeth. He's really got to learn to pronounce "th". He quoted a bit and the "Fane of Cordor and Fane of Glamis" was a bit off-putting.0
