I'm looking forward to my first pay day in a while tomorrow. Phew.
1. I took up the Meerkat loophole for the 2 for 1 movies.:money:
2. Picked up my repeat prescription on the way home.:o
3. Finding ways to make travel cheap where possible, it’s a bit of work but saves some pennies.
4. Spent tonight in cleaning mode, upstairs all bedding off and clean bedding on and ditto for animals, cleaned all the mirrors and deep cleaned the bathroom, then also cleaned the downstairs windows as now it’s sunny the dirt was getting on my nerves. And the animals helping me with all of it.:rotfl:
5. The stew smells great cooking through.
6. I’m working at home tomorrow which is also nice as I know it’s all state of mind but I’ve started to relax for the weekend.
7. Packaged up and returning a top I bought online, it’s all prepaid for by them thankfully, and DH has sold a few bits on a car forum, so a few pennies back in the pot.:T0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep, mainly because the alarm did not go off so I was woken by smaller son's taxi driver knocking on the door.
2) Hens well. 1 egg today and their grit arrived which they are obsessed with. Also fed them grain and lots of grapes.
3) Work went OK in that few people were there so I had a few hours of time to do a huge amount of coursework. Surprised myself with how much I got done.
4) Sons had hair cuts after school.
5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
6) Finished painting house sign onto piece of slate with Airfix paint.0 -
Hi everyone.
1. Got two loads of washing dry outside in the sunshine
2. Only worked half a day which is an unusual treat so I spent the afternoon batch cooking so every stray odd and end in the fridge was used up and the freezer is full of meals for next week. I'm hoping to use the extra time this will save in the evenings to get out on my bike.
3. A celebration end of exams tea with the kids
4. A run through the countryside as it started to get cooler. It feels like a long, long time since I had a summer run.
Feeling content :AOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

A collection.
1. The wonderfully kind man who put my trike chain back on for me when it had slipped off the rear cogs. I normally do this myself no problem but I had a full load of shopping on the rear luggage rack and couldn't reach it easily. My legs had seized up with cycling in the cold* and I could barely move.
* Late one evening, earlier this week. Not today.
2. I have worked out why the trike chain was slipping, finally. The penny dropped as I was putting it back on this evening, prior to going to vote. I wasn't doing anything wrong, it's just the design of the gearing on the trike.
3. Made it out to vote after feeling a bit off-colour. I downed tools early this evening, had a long nap, then woke refreshed and in plenty of time to get to the polling station, which is 1/4 of a mile away. Only 94 people had voted before me, and this was at 8.45.
Voter # 96 came in as I was leaving.
4. I found my keys, missing for a week, tucked under my armchair. I have a spare set, but these are the set I prefer to carry. Phew. I knew they were somewhere, but it was a slight worry that I had binned them accidentally.
5. As well as the lovely man who helped me with the trike, lots of simple kindnesses when shopping that helped me.
I love the good people of my town, there are so many of them.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Evening all!
My days off are almost over but a few hours left before I have to get my worky head on!
Today I went for a swim! First time in a while. There was an Aquarobics class going on so I swam in time to the music! I was in the nice shallow warm pool , girls were in the big grown up pool!
I went grocery shopping they went clothes shopping.
Started a book, read a book and finished a book, all in one day, I've not done that in such a long time.
Dropped a bag of stuff in at salvos.
Fabulous hugs with my doggie whilst I read.
Have managed to find a home for school musical tickets for tomorrow , DD2 is no longer taking part but was when I bought them. We are really not that bothered about going if she's not in it and I sent a friend a text to see if she could rehome them. Her daughter and friend will go. Free gratis, just pleased that they will be used.
Having curry for tea. I need to restart eating healthily again, a few pounds have crept back on oast month. However I shall enjoy my curry and rice and garlic naan bread tonight!
Do have a lovely day0 -
IBS playing up again but have a few pleasures for last few days
1. paid car tax warranty and service plan refunds into my bank account - looks much healthier now
2. nice texts with fav niece .... I'm glad she's keeping her spirits up .... she's had such a bad year, she left her job after bullying at work, got hit by a car in hit-and-run, then her OH got put on disciplinary at work which he won but he had a breakdown and went to stay with relatives... and didn't come back, then she fell down the stairs and as she was recovering in bed someone tried to break in her house by smashing the rear window ! She went to physio in a taxi and another car crashed into them giving her whiplash but she has refused to claim., Positive thoughts go out to her its time she had some good luck!
3. nice chat on phone with DP's
4. managed to walk to nearby polling station with DS, only 10 mins away thankfully, wanted to vote back in our local councillor who is always working around the local area to better the place and mainly to vote for independent PCC which affects DS in his job
5. its Friday .... bacon buttie day at work ... wasn't sure whether to risk it but ok so far ! sorry TMI

Come and see for your self!
5 Painted the town red last night. Couple of wobbleades, bit of tiken likka, and a wobbly ride on the train into and out of town. Big Wos'ter train as well! Too much wobbleade was consumed! Went innto town this morn to get a Coupke of bottles of Sammy Smiff! Lovely. Proper wobbleade. To be consumed later with a Marylin, and cheese! Please note BoP cheese is not refrigerated into no taste! Other cheeses are available.
4 Breakfest BoP had best back, snorker, SpagYetti hoops, mushrooms! Double poached egg, perfectly done, on hot buttered marmite toast. Tea, loose leaf, was also drunk. Rubs Tum.
3 BoPsie changes job week on Monday. So be kind to her!
2 Night BoP is getting Marylin on. We had another Burt the other day! My turn to drool!
Expectations are you dreams. Reality is reaching them!0 -
1. A lazy get up.:) always nice to not have an alarm.
2. We pondered to the next town for a list of cheap things which were all acquired, and had a nice time stopped for tea and a caf! meal for 2 under a tenner.
3. We got back and had a cuppa by the pond, then I popped back out again to get him a birthday cake for tomorrow. I picked a lovely white chocolate one out, then found it marked down to 60p with tomorrows date on so that was snaffled, used some coupons and an app thing for free things and all happy with literally barely pennies spent.:money:
4. Feeling relaxed.:)
5. Moved some money around to top up the accounts.
6. We have had word of a little animal that keeps being sent back to the rescue for something we have helped with before. We are pondering the idea at the moment. But it would all hinge on if they get on with our current critters as well it may be a big ask for an animal with issues..0
