I'll stick to me nivea BoP ... cos I got sensitive skin
Well, not quite a day of rest today but not rushing around so much. Day off work 3
1. Slept in till 8am (usually up at 5.30am) and got up just as DS was arriving home from night shift
2. re-dressed DS bite wound - lovely set of teeth marks  but thankfully healing well
3. did another hour of weeding in the garden enjoyed the sunshine
4. load of washing done and on the line. Dishwasher on and tidied round. How can 2 people make so much mess !
5. walked to local clothes/shoe bank and deposited 5 pairs of shoes & an old pair of DS combat boots no longer worn but still in good condition
6. then had a saunter round the local pond .... must have topped up my daily Vit D intake today ! Considering I work in a building that has no natural light or opening windows and then come home in winter and don't venture out again I guess its not a surprise I'm vit D deficient. Doc said calcium levels ok though so no sign of rickets !
7. ice-creamwill say no more
8. ordered a few top-up pressies for DS's birthday from music magpie DVD box sets die hard, lethal weapon 1-4, Beverley hills cop 1-3 with postage total £8.17 including p&p. 1) Drove to a super little hardware shop in one of the villages and got a lovely heavy bottomed whistling kettle to go on the hob, the latest incarnation of electric has been condemned and has been retired!
2) We've just put the cage up round the redcurrant bushes, for some reason the sparrows flock to them when the fruit is set and green and just peck the hard little fruitlets off and drop them on the ground, NOT THIS YEAR THOUGH!!! Lurcherwalkers 1 Sparrows 0!
3) Lovely phone call with DD2 and that Zebra this morning which ended with him grabbing the phone giving it a hug and shouting Love you Oma, aaawwwwwww!
4) Getting the Brittans Farm and all the occupants thereof down from the loft for him to play with on his next visit, originally bought by Santa for DD1 when she was 2, lovely memories.
5) He Who Knows also gave me a folder full it turns out of cards and photos from many years ago and I found a couple of my dear old Dad that I had forgotten about, it's so nice to see him smiling and well as my memories of him all seem to be through his final illness, these made me smile!0 -
Quick pleasures for today:

6) Lit the stove as it has gone chilly now.
7) In bed and will listen to the News Quiz in a bit.0 -
Some pleasures for the week,
Watching my Mum's delighted face as she unwrapped the hamper of goodies we had got her for her birthday. Just loads of her favourite stuff including big lump of the Norwegian goats cheese she loves.
The surprise waiting for my beloved in the mailbox, a Captain Scarlet annual :rotfl: he loves it.
Finishing at 2pm every day especially on a sunny day, late lunches in the garden.
The beautiful colour we have chosen to paint our porch, bluebell blue, gorgeous.
My miniature tulips are finally flowering, chose the frilly kind, cream with really pale pink edges, again gorgeous.
Watching my equine pal really kick up his heels for the first time in months, loose schooled him and his trot was the best it's been for ages :T looks like the warmer weather is having a good affect on us all.
That said, pleasure of putting another blanket on bed after taking the quilt off last weekend, chilly nights again.
Coming home last night with aching cheeks after spending the evening with a few pals celebrating a lovely person getting a new job at one of the equine hospitals. She will be sorely missed around the yard but am so pleased for her. We laughed all evening at the silliest things, I made a mint aero cheesecake (recipe off the boards) and it went down a storm. Captain Scarlet was allowed to lick off the bowl!0 -
Not long to go!
5 Watched another Bond last night. You only live twice. Had Donald in it! He won, in case you did not know! Wobbleade was also consumed!
4 Breakfast this morning, BoP had two snorkers, best back, grilled peppered toms with sage, hot salted buttered toast and marmite, topped with poached eggs. Chopped mushrooms. Rubs Tum. No SoagYETTI this week. Toast with proper raspberry jam and tea was also had,
3 BoPsie tootsies still hurts. Think she needs a tickle of sorts down there,Mobutu I have lost my red coatM
2 Morrows BoP has triple choice ... PM 2 DD. More later!
You cannot travel to happiness, only reach out with a smile!0 -
1) A lovely barter with my neighbour of 4 x of our tomato plants for 4 x roots of her jasmine.
2) Lovely walk this afternoon along the footpaths and back across the common, cool under the canopy of woodland where the paths run.
3) Getting all the hedges at the front trimmed and the trimmings all bagged up ready to go to the tip!
4) Beautiful rhododendrons in jewel colours in bloom all around the village.
5) Many youngsters having fun at the local football club where they are having an open day, such enthusiasm!0 -

Part pleasures, part pain..
1. Did some painting at DF’s house thinking out how much needs to be done at ours as well, but impressed with what we achieved today.:j
2. Did some gardening and greenhouse tidying.:D
3. We had a cheeky Chinese takeaway courtesy of DF.:o:o
4. A large unexpected bill, but happy not to have to worry as we keep the animal savings separate.:money:
5. I’ll bank this for another day…
I’m feeling brokenat the moment, one of our very gorgeous animals leapt into my arms on Friday morning, each morning I check on them as soon as we wake up. I shot to the vets where they tried to work on him all day long, he took a bad turn in the evening and with heavy hearts we let him go rather than the extreme suffering we saw:(. He had an incredibly rare case in these guys of Tetanus - it was terrible to see. To say I am miserable at the moment is underestimating it. Caramel came to us many years ago after a vet phoned and asked for our help we picked him up and he was very depressed, had a bad bite and ticks and fleas, we picked him up and he let us de tick him etc. Then he met all of our guys and gradually got his bounce back, he was cuddly, friendly and amazingly kissy. I am so glad he found his way to us for many years of happiness and kisses.
