Currently in a foul mood ! My son was rather rude and ungrateful earlier , he has apologised but I'm still huffing!

Anyway, prior to that I was having a lovely day.

A year ago today OH had life saving surgery. 16 long blooming hours! Very, very thankful that he is here with us.

DD2 having vomited all last evening and last night was feeling less sick...so that was a bonus....scraping sick off a carpet is never fun!

Wrote a list and ticked everything off it.

Paperwork done and desk is tidy ( ish) , we accrue so much paperwork with health stuff , now dealt with.

Walked away to the top of our wee town and made my first appointment with an Australian dentist ......( usually saw dentist when we went home) , bought a plant at the florist that was rtc, bread at bakers, turnip & leek at veg shop, changed an appointment at salon, posted a letter, everyone nice and friendly.

Home and made lentil soup , which was very nice.

Had to take DD2 to her debutante dress fitting. What a palaver this whole event is. Anyway, get the dress back in a few weeks. She had to be manoeuvred in and out of dress and in and out of shoes . Click, click, click go the crutches!

bought rude boy new bedding for his new bed , cleaned his 2 big windows, hoovered his horrible carpet, was spoken to rudely ( which is very unusual for him) he has put together new bed .

Did a bit of sweeping up in the garden and filled green bin.

Made sweetcorn and ricotta fritters, warm potato salad and salmon for the fish eaters amongst us. I will maybe have some more soup later.

    Have a good day :)

    3) Work was interrupted by bigger son's school phoning to tell me he has an after school detention for printing out a "Wanted - Dead or Alive" poster with a picture of his headteacher on. :-/

    Sorry but :rotfl:

BoP - hope Jenny is on the mend, Bopsie too
Skint - Well done on the Asti, I do love champagne but, goodness, it's expensive. I think the only thing I miss from my overseas work travels is the champagne in business class :rotfl:
Mhags - I have an occasionally rude son too. Goes with the territory, I think
DD - sorry work is stressful. Oops on the weight gain
Mrs LW - I love the things in bloom too. Our old house had the most magnificent wisteria - people used to stop to photograph it.
McCulloch - LOL on the spider story
PK - Also ploughing through freezer stocks - it would be easier if I didn't keep making things to add to them :D

    Pleasures since Tuesday

    1. New cardi and top from chazzer are luuurvely - even though they were expensive. Well the cardi was - it is 100% cashmere and from LK Bennett, but cost me £25!! It looks new though.
    2. Dentist mended tooth - he said it won't take another filling and if it goes again, it will need a crown. Expensive, but I wouldn't mind getting rid of an amalgam black tooth (it won't take white :( ) for a nice, fake, white one. £56 spent and a numb jaw and mouth for the evening.
    3. Chore-y day yesterday. Worked hard all day and didn't have much to show for it. Though I guess I did make soup from left overs (one lot of tomato and one of roast carrot and chick pea, thanks to Jack Monroe) and lemon drizzle cake
    4. Night out with the girls - yummy Korean veg curry and a pint of real ale. All for about £6.50
    5. Hmm, a fifth, thinks, thinks. Ooh I know, I found some of DS's charcoal face wash in Boots going for half price, so I bought four - which is a year's worth. :T

    Have a good day everyone..
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Incredible.

5 Fantastic news. It is time to party. I have a special mail sent to me this very day, well couple of days ago. I am to be super rich. I have won the Italian lottery. Is not excellent news.

4 Just took BoPsie to the quacks. Her toe hurts. Don't I know it. I reckon the surgeon will be out with the saw! Shhhhh. I thinks tickle will sort it out!

3 Watched Ayr United last night. Used to live round there years back. They are in post off as well. And play in black and white. Second keg on Sunday. Scarfs everywhere.

2 Day testing of new pill continues unabated. Not bounced yet. Ohhh.

Play with fire, burn your toes.

Oh, and lo and behold. Another message from Italian lottery. I have won again!

PM Me, we're all off to Sydney for the weekend. I'll get the first class tickets. Friths boys can skip school next week!
  • 1) Walking on the footpath with Cookie I came across a very hot Border Collie actually laying in the dew pond picking up and dropping a tennis ball as it was enjoying the splash, so cute!

    2) Inventing a new concept when trying to explain to Cookie why she couldn't have the blackbird she was desperate to catch and telling her the bird had 'EGG PUPPIES' to look after, daft or what but I love it!

    3) Perfume from the lilacs, just beautiful and hanging on the warm air wherever I walked.

    4) Made American Biscuits for the first time today, 68 years wasted by not making them before this, they are GORGEOUS!

    5) Actually sleeping last night as I took the quilt out of it's cover and added a cotton throw and thus was comfortable!

    Thursday pleasures (day off 2)

    1. visit to Doc and have been diagnosed as vit D deficient Not sure if linked to thyroid or diabetes, doc was non-committal but both seems to be mentioned as linked on google - test results so low I have been put on mega dose for 12 weeks - then I will have to take a maintenance dose daily. Thankful for free prescriptions - the only bonus of diabetes ! Hope this helps with the brain fog and fatigue

    2. visit to BnQ - got the sales assistant to get the mechanical lift up to the top shelf and he found the last tin of paint in the colour I wanted saving £3 on the cost of same brand name paint. Am planning to start the prep work tomorrow and paint over the weekend.

    3. had a sneaky McD's for lunch. Spoke too soon PK !
Its next to BnQ and lovely smell was wafting over as I was leaving I couldn't resist :o ... but this is the first one I've had for months :p and it was nom nom nom !!

    4. cut the lawn and did some weeding and chopping back of shrubs

    5. got one load of washing out on the line and dried in the afternoon sun

    6. cleaned the bathroom, cleaned round the window and scrubbed the roller blind where it has got a bit mildewy

Feel like I've earned a day of rest tomorrow ;)

    Thursday's pleasures
    1. Met a friend for coffee, haven't seen her for over a year so lots to catch up with.
    2. Spent the points on my sisters coffee shop card - she moved abroad a few weeks ago and sent me her card - and we both enjoyed the free coffee.
    3. Had a meal at our local Indian restaurant. This is a rare treat as we seldom eat out. Delicious food and no washing up afterwards:)
    4. Finished a superb book, 'We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves', I do love books that make me stop and think.
    5. Such glorious weather, spent an hour sitting in the garden cloud watching.

Hello, almost bedtime for me and back to the land of work tomorrow .

Much better mood this morning....all offspring had a lie in and I had peace and quiet for a little while.

Went grocery shopping, several things rtc and on special offer and another gift card bought for holidays.

Enjoyed a tuna and salad in a rtc croissant for my lunch.

DD2 still very sore so no school, emails sent to year head and lovely one received. Had to go to school after hours to pick up some home worky stuff.. Its a beautiful place.

We have a General election coming up and we are entitled to vote for the first time and unfortunately will be on holiday....however, it's the law that you have to vote so postal votes being organised.

3 nice walks with my dog boy. A mild day , dry but still windy. ( Washings done)

Bathrooms cleaned , kitchen tidied. Washing folded ( not ironed ...this is a radical change for me)

We had thai food for tea, which was nice and some rtc cheesecake for pud.

    Have a good day :)
