Pinkypig - log burner on here this evening!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Work OK. Got a little bit sworn at by a pupil yesterday but that's been sorted out today.

    3) Tasty salad and crab for lunch.

    4) Went to see my school friend for a cup of tea after work.

    5) Hens well.

    6) Had a game of football with sons.

    7) Emails flying to Switzerland and back and we're now booked in for this... https://www.victorinox.com/global/en/Explore/Visit-Us/Swiss-Knife-Valley-VISITOR-CENTER-Switzerland/cms/visitor-center

Making and engraving our own knives! (This is actually the main reason why we're going to Switzerland).

    8) Did some ironing (this happens less than once a month).

    9) Weighed myself and have gone up to 13 stones. Could have been so much worse and I'm still 12 lbs less than at new year. Starting the healthy eating in earnest again.
  • Ooops, I see the kittens made it to the home of the Mariners!

10,000 After what BoP wents frew last weekend, I have to do it again on Sunday! This time for the tin pot competition. Proper Tin Pot at that! Nerves are not as frayed as last week though. BoPsie has Jam Tarts in, just in case they are needed!

4 If you look very closely, you will just about see where BoP did his apprenticeship!

As old man in Browns said, 'as long as the punter enjoys losing their money'
Orphan Boy, Beats Like Distant Tides
    It's the arcade!
You can smell the fresh candy floss enriched 99!

3 Just put washed bag out on the line, and guess what! No problem, Cat Shower anybody! Raffles is inn!

2 Day BoP is sorting out some canvasses that will be in the market form the weekend, more later. And wear was BoP. Cat Shower.

There's a massive gap on the onside, time for a cover drive.

    Ill shut the gate then!
  • 1) Getting Cookie round our village walk without getting rained on, I'm so lucky I'd just got indoors when the skies opened for a good 5 minutes.

    2) Down near the river a bank of brightest blue alkanet and mixed in amongst it the first of the beautiful deep pink foxgloves are just beginning to show flowers, so pretty.

    3) A garden border that was deep yellow and zingy orange azaleas alternated along the front of the house.

    4) The car is fixed, the nice mechanics at the dealership put on a new wing mirror this morning and all is well again.

    5) 2 x roe deer does in the wilderness field.

    6) The two ponies who are grazed in the field at the top of the Chicken Track were tied up to the roadside barrier and the farrier was rasping their feet and re shoeing the piebald cob, lovely to see.

Some pleasures for the last few days,

For the last few months have watched a solitary heron fly over the field behind the house in the morning and back at nighttime, we think he heads towards the large watery expanse of Wicken Fen. Monday morning he was not alone, a mate was flying with him :)

How light the evenings are now, just over a month to the summer solstice, makes you feel like you have so much more time to get in with things.

Most of the buildings in the business park where I work are grey and boring. But some enlightened soul had the foresight to plant a line of wisteria along the side of one these buildings So every morning am faced with a wall of purple glory, lovely.

Managed to pick up a Unted club shirt with money off, will put away for nephews birthday later in year. Talking of which 2 years ago today BOP we too won at Wembley!

Picked up Captain Scarlet from train station last night, after 2 days watching cricket in Durham he has a sunburnt face. He did manage to see the Flying Scotsman from the ground but only through his bins.

Singing along to the Smiths this morning on the way to work, brings back memories of me youth

1.Work day done, a few problems, will have to wait and see, it would be nice to "get in" somewhere, think time has come to look into going it alone so to speak properly.
    2. Lidl shopping tonight, 30% various bits frozen for our first weekend way in 2016 over bank hols, an easy solution.;) Paella and easy chicken with cheeky burgers.
    3. Animal snuggles far cheaper than therapy.:o
    4. Remembered to do DF's food order via quidco.:money:
5.Shopping around for insurances not sure it's a plesure but still :money:

Hi everyone . I've had a really nice day :)
Frith - woodburner back on here too - lovely cosy evening in front of it and an airer full of washing drying nicely beside it.

Left over broccoli and leek in cheese sauce soup was lovely so I really enjoyed my lunch.

Did a long run after work without getting rained on and without my left knee getting achy ( it's been a niggling frustration for over a week).

Had a chatty DS when I returned home which was so nice as he's often a grumpy teenager:)

In bed with a hot chocolate having a catch up with what everyone's been up to.

Pinkypig-no stove tonight, just a hot water bottle! And our customary covering ourselves with washing warm from the tumble dryer for a minute or two. (I was very grown up before I realised that not ALL families do that!)

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) The morning's tasks seem to go more smoothly than normal. Bigger son checks the hens every day now.

    3) Work went OK.

    4) Healthy eating day 1! 13 stones exactly yesterday so we shall see where this ends.

    5) Got smaller son some new PE trousers after school.

    6) Got back home again and bigger son had continued his grinding off of paint on the front door frame. He had worn out 3 grinding disks and there is still metres of woodwork and angles to go.

    7) Went to let the hens out.

    8) Smaller son's favourite tea tonight.

    9) Played football for a while.

    10) Watched 127 Hours with bigger son.

Evening from the land of much wind and a bit of rain. Though has been dry most of day.

    Woke up early.
Phone call to friend from home.

Dropped DD2 off at school super early and managed to upset her...doesn't take much! Did apologise....fine now.

Into city for hospital appointment, we'd had a bit of a scare at weekend but reassured for now. MRI in a couple of weeks. Then we had a rehab session , 12 month follow up and final session. Everything going fine until I was asked how I was ...."I'm fine"...she sobbed! That came as a surprise. So sobbed some more !

Team down into city centre. Trotted along to cathedral and sat for a while . Train home .

Kind of mooched around this afternoon, had to go to pharmacy , almost got blown away. Hoovered, cleaned bathrooms, kitchen , dusted.

    Have made macaroni for tea.

    Have a good day :)

The contribution to the score has been reduced. Where is JeffRee? Three out before lunch on day one. Don't get me started!

10,000 Still on cloud nine, with another tin pot coming up again on Sunday. BoPsie has her new top ready as well!

4 Had a wobbleade last evening, and a sofa snoggles with BoPsie. She quipped this mourning about having a pill! Guess what, BoP shakes and rattles on his! Now which one do I take at 2!

3 The bits for the Jenny test arrived this morning, buzzing she is. They are going into the jugular! or as near as it is' BoP testing continues!

2 Nite BoP is readying the super tea of, you knows you want it as well! Sardines on hot buttered toast, with toms and hot peppers. Served with fresh salad and bits. Rubs Tum in anticipation!

You're supposed to lob the ball over the stand!

    Edit
Emporium has written personally, as they have notice I don't throw my cash at them! They have sent £30 in vouchers. Lovely cash for me to waste on their carp food!
Only condition is they want me to waste £40 a week for five weeks! with them to get it.

  • 1) A lovely post from a friend here on OS telling me she has just got new puppy who is the image of our dear old Docky, such a lovely kind thought and has made me very happy!

    2) A successful trip to the city this morning and my spice cupboard is now restocked with lovely ingredients.

    3) A couple of nice finds in the charity shops, a book for Zebra by Julia Donaldson who wrote The Gruffalo, this one is called Tiddler and is about a story telling fish and a spiralizer book for me to play with.

    4) Found some bath sized bars of soap in TK MAXIMUS at a price I was prepared to pay, even B**ts don't seem to do bath size any more.

    5) Every afternoon walk seems to be filled with the most delicious perfumes from the gardens at this time of year, today was no exception and we met a lovely new dog on the block who is a wire haired fox terrier/schnauzer cross, he was lovely!!!
