Hi everyone, cold and wet here, feels like autumn again
Washing dried overnight by the wood burner which had also kept the downstairs nice and warm for when we got up. Washing folded and put away.
A good day at work, no hiccups and lots of positives. It's also Friday tomorrow so almost the weekend:j
Made a large pot of soup from veg that looked so sad it would once upon a time gone in the bin - and it was really tasty:money:
Had a nice dinner of paella with both the kids. They are off to spend a couple of days with their dad which is lovely for them but I miss them terribly so some time with them was good.
Thoroughly enjoying the book I got from the book swap at work.
Monthly budgets are all on track with only a week to go so I'm hoping there'll be a little bit extra to squirrel away in my holiday fund.
PP xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!0 -
Pleasures for today (nearly Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep. Longer than usual thanks to alarm not going off...
2) Work went quite quickly.
3) Bigger son continued grinding all the paint off the front door frame.
4) Another smaller son favourite tea - just salmon baked into oven then flaked and mixed with pasta, peas and mayo.
5) Took 3 hours to clean dust after bigger son had finished in the porch. :-/ Will keep finding more for days. Cleaned all the living room(dusting etc), hoovered, steam cleaned the floors, sofa cushions and covers are in the washing machine.0 -
Hello, Friday evening just about to get dark. It's been a damp day after a very wet night with much heavy rain. Son was out camping in a sleeping bag and covered by a tarpaulin ( not my idea of fun) but seemed none the worst for it when he came home this mooning.
Took DD2 to school , did my morning weight training by carrying in her bag.
Home and ironed whilst watching Eastenders
Grocery shop ... I don't need much thought I, yet still manage to spend a small fortune. Got another gift card towards holiday spending.
Home and potter, potter. Washing out and mainly dried , will need to go on clothes horse to finish off. Bedroom tidied. Bedding changed.
Picked up said child from school again, did afternoon weight training.
Started a blog ( restarted a blog ) ...it's been a work in progress .
Making fajitas for tea ....DD2 is watching a DVD for school , I'm trying to stay out of the way.
Back to work tomorrow .needs must though!
Have a fabulous Friday!0 -

4 Just been into town and dropped off all those bits for the Jenny test coming up. You think this time they will get in there and put the kink on the LDA right this time!
3 Todays love tune!
Orphan Boy, Satellites
2 Nite is ready for the T20 kick off, and a wobbleade with BoPsie
Why strange at the doors with pictures on them, when at home you care not who is in there!

1) Just been up and watered the polytunnel and greenhouse, seeing how everything suddenly starts growing on makes me very happy. I can see the difference in the evenings after opening up early in the day, magic!
2) The fruit and veg plots in the garden are starting to look full, we've put in some climbing French beans outside and the wigwam for the runners is in place and so are some of the outdoor tomatoes, love this time of year.
3) Found 3 little die cast cars for that Zebra for 50p each in the charity shop this morning.
4) A beautiful sky out there at the moment, those ripply clouds that look like the ripples on a sandy beach. Rain later and for most of the weekend but we need it for the plots and to fill up the waterbutts.
5) Dipping a toe into what is on the property market at the price we can afford and being very pleasantly surprised at the number of suitable (on paper at least) properties with big enough gardens and accommodation that fall into the bracket.0 -
1.Whoop it's getting to the weekend, but the weather looks a bit wet, ah well good for my tomatos, courgettes and beans.:p
2.I spent the day working at home, loads to do but managed to get some washing/drying and playing with animals done in the lunch hour which was lovely.:j
3.About to put away all the clothes, get our bedding to the wash and clean bedding on, then I'd better run the hoover around:)
4. A nice healthy dinner which seems to be getting easier to cook these days.:)
5. Ouchy car insurance but paid for another year, still wow it's gone up. Shopped around, stayed but but wangled some off £50 not to bad I guess.0 -
Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work went OK.
3) Popped to see hens - one egg today.
4) National Trust magazine arrived today. Magazine I subscribe to (Simple Things) arrived in the week so plenty to read this weekend.
5) Tuna and pasta for tea.
6) 2lbs lost since Tuesday night!
7) Went to bingo at the village hall in my brother's village. Brother won a pie, carrots and peas. My first winning was 4 sorts of cheese with 2 packets of crackers. Next I won a basket of fruit!
8) Enjoyed watching Gogglebox.
9) (not in chronological order now) Bigger son finished sanding the front door frame. Just occasionally you come across an original part of the house (all gutted in the 80s, sadly) and that has happened finding the wooden pegs holding together the door frame - made from timber almost 30cm square!0 -
Some pleasures for yesterday,
Friday is my day off, time to potter, catch up on chores and relax.
Asking the nice lady in W8rose if she was reducing any king prawns as we were having Courgetti prawns for tea, she was so we got them half price.
Spending the afternoon reading and keeping half an eye on the test match, doing ok.
Met the new manager of the yard when went down to see equine pal, the owner has asked us to try and act normal at least for the first few days, will be difficult with us lot :rotfl:
Had a CBA moment when I got home so Captain S cooked tea, bit too much chilli for my liking but still delic.
Few squares of dark choc whilst watching Gogglebox.0
