  • 1) The rain stopped before I had to do my afternoon dog walk.

    2) We met Charlie dog and his Mumi half round the walk and they finished their walk with us, made Cookie very happy, she likes Charlie!

    3) He Who Knows scrounged a whole tree that was being taken down to process and add to the wood pile.

4)Made some really nice and warming lentil soup for lunch and heated up some leftover mashed potato to have with it, delicious.

    5) Best part of all is that today is over, I've tweaked my sciatic nerve and have been very sore for a couple of days now, now I can go and lay down and get warm and hopefully stop hurting, sleep well all!
  • 1. house tidying continues - large plastic bag filled with junk
    2. more paperwork recycled / shredded
    3. got some curtains in B&M for new to me bedroom - fully lined in the sale for £4.99. I guessed at the size and they are wide enough but the length comes just below the window ledge but not long enough to tuck behind the radiator - so I will tuck them onto the window ledge instead in an effort to stop the heat going straight up the back of the curtains and out the window
    4. got DS some UHT almond milk on offer £1 in sainsbobs nearby - bought 20 saved £12
    5. no cooking for me today - leftover turkey mince bolognaise from freezer for me and DS on late shift at work has taken batch cooked freezer meal with him

VJsmum & MHags enjoy the warm - snow forecast here tomorrow

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Have been put on a slightly higher level training course at work. Quite a lot of catching up to do as I've been following the middling difficulty one for several months...

    3) Quiet day at work.

    4) Saw my friend in town after work for a cup of tea.

    5) Mum has come home from hospital. Not entirely sure this is a good idea as she has only had soup twice (in hospital) and not really put the stitched together bowel to the test... She did get home OK and had soup for tea!

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    7) In bed with 2 hwb now. Bigger son looks as though he will be poorly tomorrow and there is no child care available whatsoever as mum is incapacitated, brother is looking after her and my dad is having 2 teeth out. :-/ Bigger son hates being in the house by himself and I think the longest I've left him was to pop to the nearest cashpoint (10 mile round trip).

Beware the mad March hare and the leverets, the family could get up to all sorts of miscief this month!

    1. Another dinner with friends to celebrate my 11th AAniversary. I love celebrations that go on for days
    2. I've been looking for an exercise/yoga type mat since I got the vibe machine, found a huge one bnwt in a charity shop which I've cut down into three pieces, one for the machine to stand on, one to go on the plate, and one for lying on when I need to, for the princely sum of £2.
    3. Shopping with DD and a good lunch of chicken and bacon wrap and a bottle of water in a fast food place. It was surprisingly nice and not expensive.
    4. Found a book I've been searching for for some time so I'll enjoy a good read tomorrow
    5. Had my 6 monthly tests today, walked for 6 minutes only stopping once, and bp etc were almost as good as last time so the progression seems to be slowing down. The nurse and physio were both in agreement that the all exercising is helping so will keep it up and I'll soon be climbing Everest without stopping - well, the stairs in one perhaps :)

    Sweet dreams :)

Oooft.....its been so warm and I'm just so over the heat, we have another hot week ahead. 38o is just too much.

Well 1-100 is DD1's biopsy results came back clear.it was a dodgy looking mole but it's gone and it's okay...poor girl is rather sore though.

101 . More appointments today, saw a new specialist for DD2's hips and we now have a reason for all her pain and problems. Potentially needs surgery in the future but not at the moment. So that was another phew moment!

    102. Popped back to Salvos and we now have a new to us sofa and 2 chairs. It's in situ but will get shifted around tomorrow when I get in from work. I was given a massive discount ( think manager was just glad to get rid of it!)

    103. I had an appointment also. Saw psychologist . I had first appointment last week which I sobbed my way through, today I didn't cry once .

    104. Made corned beef hash for tea .

    105. Flowers in my little lemon tree....fingers crossed it grows lemons!

    Have a good one !
Frith I hope your mum gets on okay at home, sometimes it seems like people aren't in hospital for long enough. Keep an eye on her and any concerns , act on them. But hopefully she will feel more comfortable at home and start her recovery.
  • 1) Met baby Henry today and got a lovely long cuddle, I think it's love at first sight!

    2) Got Cookie walked between downpour style showers, sky showed very black clouds but only got rained on briefly on the way out.

    3) More lentil soup for lunch and I made a cheese scone loaf to go with it, most pleasant.

    4) Quiz night tonight, had a new quizmaster last week and a good range of questions which made for a better evening, hoping for more of the same.

    5) He Who Knows has just put a door chain on the back door as well as having the one on the front, much better for when he is away and I'm here on my own.

Some pleasures for the last few days include,

Had a meal out with my SIL and two nieces, much hilarity and general catching up on our lives. They say you can't choose your family but was blessed in that respect.

Made a decision on work, difficult but have to do what's best for me.

Watching a greenfinch sorting through the seeds in the feeder, suspect he was looking for the pumpkin seeds but was also managing to feed the numerous chaffinch waiting underneath.

The fields have now all been drilled and prepared for planting, soon there will be a green hue on them and then spring reallly will be here.

Made first recipe from the MB cookbook Mum brought me for my birthday, her butternut squash soup, absolutely delicious and perfect for such a cold day as today.

mhags - That is just such great news, what a relief for all.

Didn't come on yesterday as I had a pretty rough day so just shut off for the evening. Today was better, not great, but better.

1 - Having some wonderful supportive people around me.
2 - Again many, many cups of tea. I really do find a cuppa so calming.
3 - Got a few things done around the house which I'd put off. Slow progress in respect of the house and jobs but I'll get there.
4 - Had £126 in change so paid that into my savings account.
5 - OH and I cooked dinner together.
