3) rugby viewing didn't work out quite to plan as friend had to leave for train only 50 mins into Scotland match. His flat door has to be locked from the outside so no chance to stay on. But dd1 just finishing a stint of sharing science in the wellgate so went to meet her
4) walked back to science centre wth her. Got tea at staff discount (75p)
5) then we went to meet dd2 out of work then England match in the pub. I was the only England shirt. Then home to watch rerun of Scotland victory with her and her bf and look up of footie. Both Luton and Grimsby won, so a good day's sportMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Our local onestop is doing DH’s favourite Heinz mushroom soup for 50p, so 10 tins for DH and 10 for DF, I however think mushrooms are food of the devil. We were very late to Lidl so asked if they had stopped bread and she popped 2 loaves in for us and came and found us with them, talk about service.:p
2. DH and I travelled over to a town today we’ve not been to in about a year. It’s changed but at least other shops have also sprung up. DH is researching cheap ideas for modelling alternatives. While there we bumped into a busker who’s ferret who was all over us:o, when we confessed we have them, then met with other people who also do for a good old chinwag.
3. We found a proper butcher there who did animal packs, we were already buying a fivers worth of cooking meat, and he said we could have the animal meat 1.5kg for 1.50. When we came in tonight the animals where over to us in a shot for it. Very happy chaps, with the rest chopped and divided up in the freezer now.
4. I remembered to take refreshments with us and in the car and 2 drinks in my bag, saving us a little and we had a fantastic portion of fish and chips.:D
5. It’s nice to be back in the warm, large camomile tea in hand, wow it was chilly out today.:)0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Had a load of free firewood off my brother.
2) Cancelled smaller son's phone contract (he has a new one) and got £20 off my fridge freezer as it was delivered 24 hours late.
3) Went to Sainsburys.
4) Went to visit my mum with my dad and brother. She is being bossy again so well on the mend. It is not the quickest recovery of all time, with all tubes and oxygen still attached. But no one seems worried. We are trying not to worry that all 3 drips and a morphine driver ran out while we were there and no one came to change them for over an hour... and that, when they did, the drip machine had gone flat anyway as it was plugged in but not switched on at the wall...
5) Had a bit of a tidy round and heated up the tea dad and brother had made me - pheasant, proper chips and veg.
6) Made a date and walnut cake.
7) Phoned my school friend.
8) Watched Casualty.
9) In bed with 2 hwb.0 -
Good evening, watching casualty before heading to bed.
2 x 11 hour shifts done and a teeny 8 hour one to go tomorrow.....you can do it Mhags!
Last two days I've been baking at work ( as well as making loads of breakfasts ....stay home and eat your cornflakes! ) made 2 big trays of brownies, carrot cakes, a date and banana loaf, lemon cupcakes, yoyos, Apple and cinnamon muffins and 2 lots of strawberry and coconut muffins.
Went out for tea after work today, had the most tasty food I've ever eaten! A fabulous curry. Delish!
Nice chat with my sister and brief catch up with friend from home..we usually catch up at least twice a week but hadn't managed until a quick call last night.
Met a lady today who looks like the queen! Had a double take! Asked her if anybody had ever noticed it ? All her life! She was as lovely as I'm sure her majesty is!
Enjoy your day0 -
Relax, anniversary weekend continues at full pace
1 - 29. And 30!
30 Years ago we first dated. No apps, no mess, and the following day, Breakfast, came out of the can. Magic!
29 Years ago we had the eleven O'clock appointment! So it was not only a whirlwind romance, but we hitched in a year. No waiting, no fuss, no frills. Just spills
28 The day!
And we still chuckle at breakfast inn the morning when we remember the man who wanted mushrooms at the hotel, and I had just been given the last of them! He created such a fuss, the place was actually closed when he came in!
So you see, Old BoP is a roman tick at hart!
Caution
BoPsie active inn this area!0 -
1) An early morning Skype with DD2 and Zebra because he wanted to talk to Oma!
2) Fantastic rugby on Friday and 2 games yesterday too, enjoyed every single second.
3) Being truly warm for the first time in months, I PUT THE CENTRAL HEATING ON.....finally!
4) Being in touch with both the girls on a regular basis, DD1 more often than DD2 because she tends to ring as she's walking home after the school day, I'm singularly lucky in that I'm their friend as well as Mum.
5) Planning a trip out for tomorrow, we'll use one of our memberships and go somewhere we like even if it's cold otherwise we get a little stale and life lacks a certain lustre. A trip out gives a new perspective and is even better when you've already paid the entrance money!0 -
I haven't tried this before, so here we go for the first time ....
1) Still on an emotional high from Friday's rugby, having watched my beloved Wales win
2) It's been a cold but bright morning and I've had a lovely time pottering around the garden. I've planted a couple of lime green hellebores which I bought reduced at a garden centre last weekend, and tidied up my 'perennial' and 'jewel' flower gardens.
3) I've done the weekend cleanout of the hen house so they have lovely snuggly fresh bedding and the compost bins have another dose of the good stuffThe hens enjoy having a natter to me while I work around them, they're proper little chatterboxes and so inquisitive!
4) I enjoyed doing some sewing very early this morning while the house was quiet. DD2 (who still lives at home) is a newly qualified primary school teacher and there are a few children in her year 2 class who don't have the happiest of home lives - it's World Book Day this week and everyone is supposed to dress up as their favourite book character, but DD2 knows that not everyone in her class will be able to do that and she doesn't like to see any of them being left out. Mum to the rescue! I've just run up half a dozen Crayola crayon costumes in different colours so anyone who wants one can be a character from the book about The Day The Crayons Quit. DD2 said I probably miss doing stuff like this now that she and her sister are all grown up, and she's quite right
5) Mister CJ has been out in the garden keeping me company, chopping logs as I potter about. He's now come in and is lighting a lovely log fire so we'll be super cosy later.

Skint: your post has reminded me I haven't food planned for next week.:o
1. I have to admit, I woke and then fell back asleep so a tad late but not late for anything today, no commitments today so it doesn’t matter. Breakfast of a lovely grilled bacon sandwich.:o
2. Hot towel wrapped around head, testing out what I have been reading about coconut oil, as we have it in for cooking. I’m really impressed. I have very long hair and just experimented with it on the ends so Tuesday I will do 3 quarters, and use a little as hair serum to tame it a bit before drying. I have also used it as a lip balm today I have to say I am a convert.:T
3. Time to get the house tidy and clean again, bits have been put away, floors hoovered then washed.
4. A friend got in contact, they had been on our minds as well. I also sent a catch up mail to DB.:)
5. The house is clean and sort of tidyish, the animals are playing and there’s a “use everything up” chicken pie baking, feeling content.:cool:0 -
Off out soon so quick catchup
1) lovely sunny day again hooray. Took a flask to library and finished ppts for next week before church (OK was slightly late for church!)
2) crocuses (croci?) in abundance
3) lovely lunch with friends
4) one gave me a lift home then very kindly took me to lidl and back so I could get in the week shop - £29
5) then super walk with dogs up balgay. Wondering what the legal situation is on picking up firewood on common ground in Scotland if my next house should happen to have a wood-burner as there is tons up thereMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
