And here is one from Jenny :heartpuls to the mum of Friths!
1 to 30
Did you know that it is thirty years since BoP, with bucket from beercall in hand, waltzed the light frantic and met BoPsie. The rest is history!
Just another soppy hankie love story you wished you're part of!0 -
Frith - rousing hallelujahs that your mum is heading healthwards again!0
-
Frith - glad mum is on the mend. Wait till son learns to swear at SIri "hey siri, bu88er off" (or worse
)
Siri "i'm sorry, did i do something wrong"
Or call it Jarvis (iron man ref) - it doesn't like that.:rotfl:
Back home now after a lovely few days in ice cream town (haven't had the ice cream in a while, i try to ration it)
So pleasures
1. wonderful sunshine and bright blue skies. A tad chilly, but how wonderful the light has been
2. emerging spring - wordsworthian daffodils, narcissi, the blossom emerging and very pregnant sheep. no lambs yet - or not that i saw..
3. time with DS - he is always better away from home. He has 2 weeks off as school has weird terms. He and OH are off to cardiff for the rugby tonight and footie tomorrow. despite most of his genes being English, the boy is Welsh in his heart (genes are 3/8 welsh, which i think is his heart and soul)
4. walking walking walking. including a day in Snowdonia - train to Port Madoc, steam train into the mountains. A couple of pubs and a 5 mile walk, sunshine, rain, wind warmth, freezing. it must be spring...:rotfl:
5. Reading a book on Gender and power. sounds dull but really isn't. i'm loving it.
6. creating a large veg curry out of pretty much nothing. I have hardly shopped over the last few weeks. I've probably spent under £100 for three of us this month. Freezers are a bit empty now though.. "There's no pudding" wailed a hollow legged teen. Et voila - Mummy makes apple crumble from apples that no one has eaten. Funny how they'll eat the crumble though...
7. The smell of a coal fire
8. That "aah" feeling when you can remove your heavy rucksack
9. Messages of thanks from students pleased with their mark but also have gone out of their way to tell me that i'll be missed and otherbut lovely words. We don't really get a lot of thanks in this job so it has been lovely to get such a lot at once
10. A decent nights sleep last night, after several nights of fairly carp, broken sleep - unusual for ice cream town but these things happen
have a great day / weekend all. I am off to dad's for the day tomorrow and DD is coming back for the weekend tonight :T (she is coming back so that she can have the house to herself all day tomorrow - living in halls means you are rarely somewhere on your own.)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Mr CJ and I are also celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this year. Either this is a complete coincidence or maybe I am married to BoP without realising it. Mr CJ sounds nothing like BoP (when sober, that is) but perhaps he has a SECRET ONLINE PERSONA. Hmmm.0 -
Ooooooh CJ, you has not got BoPsie's log in has yous!
31 Just done a choclate orange lemon drizzle cake. Fresh, soft and soooo spongy. The crumbs are now left! Rubs Tum!

1) Reading that Friths Mumsie is being fixed and hoping that she's not too uncomfortable today, hope all is now well!
2) Nice home day today, ironing done, dusting and hoovering done, everywhere tidy and clean and supper in the oven cooking, and relax!!!
3) He Who Knows brought me a lovely bag of leeks, parsnips and a savoy cabbage back from the lottie, and a big piece of horseradish.
4) Lighting the stove early, it's been a raw day here and I lit the stove when I got back from walking Cookie, oooohhhhh bliss!
5) Being warm, it is truly scrumptious to be warm!0 -
Really struggled to get motivated with anything today, what was achieved felt like a great feat.:o
1. Porridge for lunch, which is when I realised we are out of bread and milk.:o
2. In a ridiculous effort, cleaned and tidied up and downstairs, it's nice to start the weekend clean and tidy for 5mins:D
3. Took some time to do a face pack and read a little.:)
4. A 30p hotdog pizza from the freezer tetris for dinner for us tasted amazing. And to give a hint of my extreme CBA today, I put it in the oven, set the timer and napped.:rotfl::o0 -
Good morning , it's Saturday ( really? So soon) just about to go to work and start an 11.5 hour shift so shall post some pleasures before they are wiped away!
Lovely day on Thursday. Walked into city to meet friend , had a lovely catch up, had a wander, had some lunch ( her treat , which was lovely) and then headed back to airport on the double decker train , the seat backs can change direction , so you can face whichever way you want.....I'm easily pleased! Met OH , then we had to wait for flight which was delayed but we eventually got home.
Haggis dog ( apparently a subdued boy) actually jumped in the air when he saw me. ( all 4 paws of the ground rather than jumping up on me) lovely boy.
Aaaaaah.....my own bed!
Friday was a day of catching up, GP for bloods , DD1 got a 24 hour BP monitor attached ($40 please...really?) ,she gets this done annually , we did a grocery shop. Hoovered, bathrooms, ironed, washing, used the tall child to put net curtains back up after I'd wiped rather dusty window tops.
Took bags of stuff over to salvos but came back with a skirt (1/2 price ) and a top and a lovely little christmas tray.
Bolognese for dinner and a catch up of UK telly.
Right, I'd better dash !
Have a good weekend.
Frith hope your mum makes a good and steady recovery
Pirate Pete ........surely she deserves a medal!! Congratulations:)0 -
Some pleasures for today, not exactly OS but as its my birthday think it's one day of the year to be spoilt.
Captain S come up trumps with not only tickets to see the Boss but also some to see the Spanish Riding School of Vienna when they come to the UK later in the year. Since I was a little girl who was glued to the tv whenever "White Horses " was on I have always wanted to see those beautiful Lipizzaners, am over the moon.
Was treated to lunch out at Girafe which have to say was delicious and might have had a cheeky lunchtime cocktail...or two...
Phone calls from all my nieces and nephews and of course Mum, picking her up tomorrow morning to continue with the celebrations.
Popped over to see Bill and the girls at the yard sung happy birthday to me :T
Just heard a cork being popped in the kitchen, something cold and fizzy on its way, being 52 ain't bad
Frith hear, hear on our NHS, best wishes to your Mum for a speedy recovery x0
