Good morning from Sydney, I'm sitting opposite the harbour bridge and below the steps of the opera house just watching the world go by at the quayside, ferries are in and out of the harbour and there's a massive cruise ship. It's very warm ...though still bearable for me at the moment.

OH is up here for work so I've tagged along for a free night in a hotel. An hour in a plane , 10 mins on a double decker train and I'm good to go for a day of exploring!

    Will catch up later!
  • Congrats Jenny!!!

    1. DH and I popped to a nearby town for their brilliant fruit and veg stand, which was forthcoming with all sorts of random bits and bobs, all restocked.
    2. I had a call about a job, hoping to hear more tomorrow I’ve got everything crossed they are hiring as there seems to be a bit of confusion. Hoping they let me know.:o
    3. We stopped on the way home to price up finishing the bedroom redecoration, came home and bumped into the neighbours while we were unloading, who offered us use of the trade account, which would take a lot off the price. DH picked up a bit of furniture board to create some book shelving for me that’s going to go above the doors, I think it will look great, but I do have to thin the books down a tad.:o:T
    4. I’m resorting to using the tumble dryer as wet and damp clothing everywhere last night set up the asthma.:o
    5. Food planning from the bottom of the freezer tonight has acquired a do you know what this is, nope, hmmm if in doubt casserole it tomorrow, the “surprise” if rather dubious looking meat is defrosting. I’m not sure about it but it has been frozen. Ah you only live er.....:rotfl:

    And relax!

5 Heart monitor is back at the hospital. Now the blunt razor skinned chest can grow its hair back! And it looks a mess. Note to readers, it is worse than some kind of hair removal therapy you BoPettes could have! Not smooth!

4 Last night I sent BoPsie off with the housekeeping and she managed to relieve from the shelf a firkin of wobbleade cheap! She said there are two more left. I said you could had emptied the trolley of your perfumery bits and put it inn!

3 This morinng on way back from hospital, there was one left. It is settling in the BoP house!

2 Nite BoP is making mushroom curry. Rubs Tum. The remnants will be left on the stove for tomorrow nite! Rubs Tum

Please try this at home, it is good for you!
Note to readers. It is nearly 30 years!

Dreadful night’s sleep, and 3 hours sleep later is not enough.

    1. I had a lot of things to take over for DF, so up early to prepare to visit. it entails, loading the car with various crates of things got for him since last visit, remembering to take our own lunch and putting a casserole in to cook for when we get back, it would be so tempting to buy a subway and order in, so mentally I’ve saved about £30 - in my head:rotfl:

    2. Spent the first hour cleaning up, tidying, while DH fixed the plumbing. DF has become “odder” in not throwing “anything” away. I have to go around and bin empty cans, wrappers, tins and plastic milk cartons:eek:. Thankfully a weekly visit keeps it under control.:)

    3. Rotten journey home, but we did get back in daylight to pre done dinner. I placed a couple of orders for DF online as I know I would forget otherwise. Then hoovered and tidied ours in the half hour it took for the dumplings to cook.:D

    4.
Seriously sleepy, I had lots of ideas of things to do but I think it might end up, doing some web research and maybe napping!

    Some pleasures for today,

Day off so no alarm :j still up relatively early and went for a walk first thing with the girls, cold, frosty but bright.

Met up with hollow-legged stepsons for brunch, lovely two hours catching up with all their news, I had the veggie special which was so yummy and not a sausage in sight, sorry BOP

Popped into Mr Sparks and picked up some YS bargains.

Took my lad for a long hack in the afternoon sunshine, we didn't have any company but perfick just the two of us. Still coughing quite a bit and every time had a bout, he stopped and stood still until I stopped, love love my boy :p

Now watching the SR Bake off and also have Happy Valley to catch up on later.

PK hope you have a better nights sleep, likewise Frith
DD ha, love UFO expression :T

Good morning from Sydney ! Sun is shining , if I crick my neck and squint my eyes I can see the harbour bridge from hotel room....if I look straight out I actually see a huge concrete pillar! However, the angle I'm sitting at writing this means I can see the bridge and a bit of blue sea!

Pirate Pete glad Jenny's in good working order, she has shared so much love with us past few years and I'm always grateful for a beating heart sent down under !

Well, my Wednesday was a lovely day. Up at the crack of dark to get to airport. An hour in a plane ( in front row ....are you prepared to help in an emergency? ...er....does it not mean we are first off? No, that little bit extra leg room ( important when you're an inch taller) means you have to help cabin crew in the event of emergency!

Took a double decker train from airport ( I was quite excited, not been on a DD train since 1991 San Francisco ) to circular quay, got off with so much anticipation for my day. Had a wander round the opera house , kept moving from bench to bench to steps , was about an hour doing this, taking photos, watching the boats and ferries and people and generally feeling very grateful to be here.

Took a Choo choo train tour through the Botanical Gardens which are vast , saw far too many spiders for my liking but lots of lovely plants and flowers and herbs. Lovely.

Then had a wander, then decided to take an open top bus tour which would eventually drop me off near hotel. So that was 90 mins and interesting and seeing things from the height of top deck. I could still use ticket today but have decided to walk into city.

Hotel is in a rather seedy , notorious area. So was rather glad to be ensconced inside ! Had a relaxing afternoon, wrote to a friend, watched some telly, had a snoozette.

Then into town to meet OH and his Sydney based colleagues. Some I knew , some I met for first time. Had a nice dinner at the quayside , pleasantly warm evening air. Good company and paid for dinner.

Back to hotel and we sat in foyer for a while chatting with other UK colleague who's out here.

Then bed, managed to sleep until 5am, which is good for me and then got up and had a soaky bath. Downstairs for breakfast and had some toast and fruit....and 2 little hash browns!

OH has gone to work, I'm meeting my friend at 10.30am and looking forward to having a good old natter , then will start the journey home around 3.30pm.

It feels like I've done something very productive with my days off. Do have a good night!
  • Thought I'd pop back in and say hi and start listing my pleasures again.

1 - Nice 6 mile walk along the seafront today between towns.
2 - More time off together with my OH.
3 - Catch up on the phone with mam.
4 - A good giggle going through old photos.
    5 - A spa bath :)

Quick pleasures for tonight as it's been a tricky evening:

    1) A half decent night's sleep.

    2) Work not too bad.

    3) Tasty tea of Quorn pies, broccoli, carrots, peas and gravy then treacle sponge and custard.

    4) Swept the garden, tidied up, and emptied half the water butt out.

    5) Enjoyed watching 24 Hours in A and E.

Rubbish bits were smaller son's new phone not coming from Amazon (as promised) so he was very upset to the point that he had a nose bleed. Which lasted from 6pm until about 10 minutes ago, on and off :-/

Also phoned to be told mum is in hospital. Was thought to be appendicitis but they really don't know so she is having an x ray and CT scan this evening.
