I can’t believe I haven’t posted this week so a mish mash for the past few days below.
We popped out to get supplies for both us and DF. We decided to get the bits from Co$tco as dads needs are for stocks of things. Wow the hazardous drivers out there left me incredulous pretty much every few minutes there was an idiotic manoeuvre that lead me to question evolution. But we got where we were going safe and sound somehow.
I’ve had an interview come through for next week.:)
Taking advantage of the bulb offer in the MSE email:money: I will plant them all on the garden wall for some colour.
Our clearing out things here is having an effect but it’s a bit disconcerting. I’ve still a lot of clothes to clear out, it’s been easier to do a bit, leave it and go back realising I’ve not used or needed it at all.:o
Paid all the monthly bills, I went to phone to pay the gas and leccy when I realised at 45p per min maybe not, so logged in online instead. I also updated our tariff in theory saving us about £417 a year apparently.0 -
A strange day today! Here goes....
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work not too bad, livened up by people screaming in excitement at the (tiny amount of) snow.
3) Have got something new to do at work next week which might be interesting.
4) Went to the garage near work to book my car in on Friday (wandering steering) and one mechanic went to primary school with me (parents' neighbour) and the other was in all my classes at high school!
5) Whilst at work, had to leave a lesson because someone came to get me to say my son's school was on the phone. She didn't know which son or which school. :-/ By the time I had walked miles across work to the phone, the secretary had managed to cut off the plastic loo roll centre he'd got his finger wedged into.
They had phoned because it had been on for half an hour and they wanted me to take him to hospital! Yes, this is the nearly 16 year old son. What they didn't tell me, is the poor DT teacher had tried to cut through it with a razor blade and let out a very rude swear word in front of the class when he cut into bigger son's finger!
6) Brother popped in to have a rest from the nursing of both mum and also dad who had his teeth out today!
7) Went to the newly opened village shop and noticed they have put the display board inside (used to be in the window). Amazingly for a tiny village, an ALLOTMENT was being advertised. I phoned the number and it belongs to the mum of 4 of the kids at my primary school! (Bear in mind there were only 19 children in my whole primary school so we all knew each other well). So now we have a new allotment at a rent of £1 a year. :-) It is across the village but still within wheelbarrow reach. We're going to meet up with her there on Saturday morning.
8) Enjoyed watching DIY SOS.
9) In bed now with 2 hwb.0 -
Well my youngest baby is now 16 . Just had birthday tea....just gone slightly crazy looking for the candles I bought on Tuesday and saw yesterday ....methinks the dog may have hidden them!
So , I duly went in to work today ....then the proverbial hit the fan when colleague started vomiting and I had to send her home and deal with a very busy cafe for an hour until some one else came in. A busier day than usual. Got out an hour and a half later than planned. I will get paid but I was so tired!
Train home ...just missed one and had to stand all the way home but I reckoned that as I'd been on them all day another 15 minutes didn't matter.
Have raised more than $1000 for my fun run on Sunday . Staggered by the response! People are so kind.
Cake fit for a little princess made. Pink with a tiara and sparkles on top.....if only I could find candles !
Do have a lovely day0 -

Happy Sweet 16 little mhags!
Today was a mixed day but I'm focusing on all the positives.
1 - Good news from an appointment this morning.
2 - Long walk through the park. It was a beautiful sunny day and the early walk helped clear my head.
3 - Picked up a lovely cream M&S Autograph cardi in the charity shop today. It was £3.95 and when I got it home I noticed on the label that it is 100% cashmere. Whoop.
4 - An afternoon snooze.
5 - Won some tickets to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum. That should make for a nice day out.0 -
Some for today.
1. DH and I set the alarms to get up early, DH needed a lay in and I slept through them but we did get up at some point, the pleasure being able.:o
2. We loaded up my car with a boot full of things for DF, but had to jump start it, thankfully it was fine after that.
3. I’m very worried about DF he looks bad, but that said he held conversations and was interested in us, nice to give a little company.
4. Home, and greeted to a champions welcome:rotfl: we are happy to see you from the animals, dinner is easy left over grilled chicken, homemade coleslaw and new pots.
5. Right now, we have a treat of a shot glass of honey JD, and I am trying to learn how to knit remembering I need to search on left handed video tutorials.:D
6. When we were in the Swedish shop yesterday, DF picked up some reduced wood for his train modelling, I was shocked to see they originally sold it at £70, it’s a pack of 5 wood panels for the pax wardrobes. We paid a fiver thankfully. Also when they said they had a special over the tanoy of tea and cake for family card members I was pretty much there in a shot.:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Happy 16th Birthday Miss Mhags
71 DD? It's getting ridiculous, I retired some 10 years ago at 58, I can't possibly imagine still working at this age let alone 71. Perhaps Everest makes you think of retirement homes because it's such a long hard climb and takes a long long time!
I empathise PK, knitting I can manage, it's crocheting which beats me. Have you tried doing it in the mirror?
The Ides isn't until the 15th BoP, you're quite safe until then. Unless you bump into a mad young hare...;)
1. Hair cut this morning so now about 1lb lighter, I don't know how it grows so fast. The hairdresser charged me half as she'd slipped up and not written down my last appointment so I had to wait until this week.
2. Tried on 2 pairs of trousers I'd not been able to get into, now almost there. If there were odd number sizes as well I'd be in the next one down
3. Shampooed half of the sitting room carpet so I'm sitting on the sofa three feet away from the television screen. The other half gets done tomorrow when I'll be sitting at the bottom of the stairs!
4. This years MoT and service went well, just needed new brake pads so not too painful.
5. The yellow thing has excelled itself today, and I didn't need to turn the lamps on until well after 6pm. It's almost here !0 -
Happy birthday to smallest MHags!
V quick pleasures for today:
1) A reasonable sleep.
2) Survived training course all.day.long.
3) Smaller son's parent evening pretty good. A bit of concentration wouldn't go amiss here and there!
4) Tea at McDonald's (bribery).
5) Bought seeds for the new allotment. Hoorah!
6) Bigger son went to the Banff film festival about film (not actually in Banff) with brother in law. My sister picked him up from school and he had tea there before going out so we've just got back from picking him up.
7) Watched the Mary Beard programme about Pompei.
8) Mum and dad are continuing to recover.0
