Hello everyone, I am going to try and jump on this thread more often as it does make me feel more grateful. Hope everyone is doing ok:money:
1. Picked over 2kgs of olives from my tree and have started the process of pickling them. I hope it all goes well, fingers crossed.
2. Brought a reduced free range chook today and will be baking it tonight with some yummy home grown potato and other veg.
3. My funny dog kept sticking his nose in the bucket where the olives were to see what i was doing. It was very amusing he is such a stickybeak:D
4. Confirmation finally arrived, after an extended period of inept uni administration errors, that my degree is now completed:j
5. First signs of my snow peas peeking through and also discovered some self seeded lettuces:)Thailand 3010/15000 20150 -
Thanks for your kind thoughts folks. Update on my leg. Sitting is agony, lying in bed not much better, walking, just about bearable so I'm hoping to stay upright today.
We are planning to take DD and DGK's to Henley market today, so I'm hoping to find some pleasures/bargains there.
Hugs to everyone who needs them Where are you Ollie and Congrats to Caterina on your new status in life. You'll soon be saying you never worked so hard and don't know how you had time to go to work.

Morning All,
Flying in to list a few recent pleasures before flying off to Flylady:D
Bella-Loosing the thread a bit, will find out what happened to your leg when I catch up later. Hope you have a good day out despite the discomfort.
Sunday
1. Trip to Warwick Castle with friends. Just us and 6000 other people:eek: We used our Merlin passes and took picnic food, so just paid for hot chocolate to keep warm;) (20% off using the Merlin card makes them almost normal prices). Great day out for 3 generations.
2. Popped into National Motor Museum on the way, for the kids to have a go on the Go Karts. First weekend of the year they have been open. DS2 hasn't stopped talking about it since!
3. Dr Who on Sky + - Didn't think I was going to like the new Dr Who, but shows potential. Obviously no David Tennant;)
Monday
1. Drive down to Kent to collect DD from swim camp. DH drove.
2. Stopped off at the Red House (William Morris home), on the way down. Used NZNT card for the first time this year. Would like to visit again when we have more time.
3. End of camp display was great as usual. DD and her friends seemed to have had a great time. It was lovely to listen to all their stories and see their photos.
4. I got some lesson planning done in the car as DH did the driving. Makes it seem less of a chore :T
5. Ashes to Ashes on iPlayer.
Enough of a sit down! Will drop in again later to read about everyones hols. Have a great dayHE x

GirlySquare - Glad you enjoyed the zoo, we went there a few weeks ago and loved it. We are thinking of buying a family membership when DD is a little older, so we can go there more often.
bellasquidsin - Hope your leg gets better soon.
puss14 - Welcome. Enjoy your chicken and your olives.
Morning all, hope you are well and hugs to those who aren't. I had a good day yesterday and feeling more upbeat than last week. Here are my latest pleasures:
- Waking up to warm blue skies this morning and putting on a t-shirt rather than a baggy jumper like yesterday.
- Getting a good start on the mammoth washing pile that appeared over the holiday.
- Feeling positive about life.
- A tea of pasta with homemade tomato sauce and adding the left over roast lamb to the sauce, which was simple, but lovely. DH was inspired to recreate a dish we had in a favourite restaurant. Risotto cakes (Again using leftovers!), which he coated in polenta, and fried them. They were nice, but may try them in breadcrumbs next time.
- Getting stuck into a new book. A Catherine Cookson which is not my usual choice of genre, but I am quite enjoying it so far.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Good Morning all,
Not really been a great weekend or start to the week in my world but I'm trying to see the positives. My OS (and not so OS!) pleasures for the day:
-NSD
-Will take in one of my old suits tonight so it fits me and will move the waistband lower to make the suit more contemporary
-Cook a nice Ratatouille with the veggies in the fridge that need eating
-I will do two clothes washes tonight, unfortunately no chance of getting them out on the line
-If I get time I will plant some more seeds in my propagator- some of the ones I planted 3 or so weeks ago havent sprouted yet
-Checked online banking and realised I now owe just £1700 in total, that makes me a happier bunny :j
Hope everyones doing well, much love to all x[STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]

Hi All - Just spent a lovely few minutes catching up with all your posts. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments : the camper will defo happen - we WILL have it for our 60th year (2012) - we bought fast road bikes for our 50th year and have thoroughly enjoyed them. As far as the New Zealand thing goes - I am much calmer having researched the possibilities of going ourselves (eventually ... after they are settled if they do decide to go) - only problem will be the dogs but hey - we will manage. And NZ is half way to the USA so its no further to visit DD - or what about a pied a terre in each country ....
OK Here are 5 fab OS pleasures from my day so far:
1. Saw and heard another woodpecker in the woods this morning - having a drumming contest with another one.
2. A wonderful bank of celendines blooming on a marshy bank in the woods, where a spring rises and keeps the ground damp year-round. We are so lucky having this wood that several years ago when it came on the market , the village bought it and now its free for everyone to use.
3. Seeds growing before our eyes!
4. Washing basket is empty and its all drying on the line. Mmmmm the smell of fresh washing! Looking forward to the ironing later (I actually like ironing if I have time to get it done and put away)
5. Looking forward to long weekend visit to DS DDIL and DGKs

Hi all, hugs to all who need them or just want them
Struggling today.
1. Finding out my car will seriously fail the MOT before spending out £250 for a new clutch to be fitted.
2. The mechanic telling me there's no charge for the pre-MOT check he did for me.
3. We found out a month before the MOT runs out so have a month where we can drive round looking for another car.
4. Having remembered to by malt extract last week, had all the stuff to make a malt loaf - Its just cooling - so will be devoured very shortly!!
5. Having just enough eggs left to make chelsea buns - dough is just rising.
6. Finding a skirt in the charity shop suitable for the wedding at the end of the month - hopefully the top and jacket I wore to the last wedding will still fit (I know the skirt won't!) and then I'll be all set.
7. Two of my favourite cakes - chelsea buns and malt loaf - can be made by me, by hand. Well I have to remind myself of the skills I've got - losing alot of self confidence being out of work.
8. I don't have a job yet which means I have time to bake cakes and search for another flippin car!
Edit- hmmm malt loaf isn't nearly as soft and squidgy as the recipe made out. In fact it's just a fruit loaf.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Afternoon all, just catching up on the posts- Hugs to all
Here are mine today
1. A wee bit of a naughty one- watching the unfolding drama next door- after the fire a couple of weeks ago in their shed, yesterday the police came round and now the whole house has been stripped and is now laying in two places- a skip and the front garden- we have only just moved in and the neighbours were a bit ruccus- they used to steal my milk and orange juice until i hid it..... so wonder what's been going on. It's a bit like the soaps- except I never watch those so this is more fun lol gonna sneak another look in a minute...:p
2. Getting my meat delivery for the month and getting it all in the freezer ready
3. Finding in my order a lovely carry bag included and some weird ice chip things- have kept them because they look good for helping sore joints and using as icepacks for packed lunches
4. Really liking the sunny weather, even though im itching on all the skin that is exposed to the pollen.... have now resorted to long sleeve jumpers etc to make it a bit easier
5. My postman realising that if i have a parcel and I can't hear the door, he can just open the bottom door and place it in there. Perfect... no more missing parcels!
Enjoy the day folksFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
