  • Flies the roger!

5 Did usual shop this week at the w8rs. Tons of punter foods in. They have extra boxes of carrots and things. Be careful now, there was no crush when we were inn.

4 Just had soup picnic out near the bridge. Nice. Keeps you warm.

3 Tea this evening is BoP Cor Ma. Mushroom and chicken. Rubs Tum.

2 Night we are off to see Santa. Well not, but his reindeer flavoured water.

All is laid out for you
  • I'm so sorry for your loss Firth.:(.

    1. It was a dodgy start to the family catch up, as people relaxed it eased, a bit.
    2. We got back in the wee hours of the morning, nice to get make up removed.
    3. We had to pit stop and purchase a kettle, our £7 kettle lasted about 4 years before leaking all the time if left on the surface and burning our hands, so we have paid out slightly more as the new cheap version of a kettle was a bit dire, but not too much more the one we bought was in theory half its price.
    4. We visited DF and sorted bits and pieces out, but he’s in his own little world.:o
    5. A bit more cleaning and tidying, what is it about the festive season that makes us make sure everything is as clean as possible.:)

I do believe I've fiinsihed my working week.
Madly busy day today after a quieter weekend.

Biggest pleasure was the cool change after high temps , we dropped from 39o to 21o yesterday ,most marvellous.

Out for work this morning having to wear a cardi! Some people had the winter woolies on, it wasn't that cool!

Lots of festive cheer and good wishes which was nice. We are open right through the festive season but lots of our local businesses will be closed.

Lovely box of chocs handed in by a lovely regular customer...have came home with me, we'd already shared out a big tin yesterday.

Home....no more work until Boxing Day, so I'm looking forward to getting all organised for Christmas . A few things planned over next few days .

Photos sent of my DD1 looking happy, doing things with family and friends.

    Pie and beans for tea.

Do have a mist fabulous Monday...christmas is a coming :)

    Some pleasures for the weekend,

Lazy Saturday morning, coffee and bacon butties.

Walk with Billy down the lane, so mild didn't need a coat, the fens are water-logged and full of wading birds.

Sunny and warm on Sunday, Captain Scarlet cut the grass so the unexpected pleasure of the smell of newly mown grass.

Hollow-legged step-sons come over for late roast dinner, slightly hungover they ate everything in sight including second helpings of Apple crumble and clotted cream.

Late night walk under clear starry skies, the winter solstice is nearly with us.
  • 1) Had such a good time in Berlin, been so often now the place is as familiar as the village here, so beautiful at this time of year and pretty wonderful at any time of year.

    2) DD2 and family safely moved into the new house on Friday. the Zebra is out of sorts and a bit confused at the change of domicile and not sleeping too well but the house is substantially bigger than the flat and has a garden too, will be so much better for them when they're used to it.

    3) Good flight home last night, a much needed sleep and then a smooth train journey home today.

    4) Walked the Cookie puppy this afternoon and the greeting I got when she saw me was lovely.

    5) Christmas tree decorated and now looks twinky!!!

Mega hugs to Frith. What a few days you've had.

Last week was manic, hence why I was AWOL again - but lots of time spent with friends, having a good time and I saved up for this time of year when my (normally non-existent!) social life goes off the scale. So, the pleasures are many:

    1) Rugby time, including meeting Irish rugby legend Keith Wood. Turns out that his wife (who is from my current town) was at school with one of my rugby friends. Nice bloke, but he's so strong that he put his hand around DH's neck because DH was wearing the "wrong" rugby top. :rotfl:

    2) Was in London on Saturday for the annual uni housemate Christmas lunch. Turned out to be our 17th annual meal... Surely I'm not that old? :o:eek:

    3) Rugby matches x 2.

    4) Meeting up with one of my oldest friends today at Chatsworth. She'd brought her boyfriend and her mum along, so we had a jolly day.

    5) More cash withdrawn from TopCashback! :j :j

    6) Credit card paid in full.

    7) The ability to read a book without feeling that I should be doing school work! Finished one full novel, two novellas and onto the next novel. Not saying they're intellectual ones, but catching up on the ones I've downloaded on my Kindle...

    8) Cat being super-adorable.

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Another lie in!

    2) Another warm day. The bulbs are all through in the garden and there were daffodils blooming as we drove through Herefordshire :-/

    3) Went with my brother to look at a trailer.

    4) Stopped at a large craft centre on the way home and got some more stocking fillers.

    5) Star Wars! No spoilers from me. I'll just say it was very good and I liked the way it harked back to episodes 4-6.

    6) Made chow mein for tea.

    7) Watched the Nativity 2.

    8) Also watched an episode of Blue Peter from 1974. I wasn't born then (though not far off) but I do remember John Noakes and Shep. Sons were intrigued, especially when one of the presenters said, "Those of you lucky enough to be watching in colour"! Simon Groom, Janet Ellis and Peter Duncan were "my" presenters.

They were bored by the episode of Grange Hill that followed (it wasn't set in the school) but I vividly remembered the fall of Zammo at the end. :-(
