    6. when I got back from the shops my fridge freezer was making an awful noise sounded like a jackhammer ! Found a guide on u tube about the fans in "frost free" fridge freezers freezing up. Turned off at plug, followed the instructions including a few minutes blast with my hairdryer on the sealed unit housing the fan - drawers put back in and switched back on - and its all working perfectly with no noise !!

Thank goodness ! Was thinking I would have to call an engineer or buy a new one

Just popping in very briefly ( after a horrendous night of little sleep as it was too damn hot...we are already starting the day at 5am at 32o!) to say my girl has arrived and ensconced with family.

Picked up , showered, fed and watered, hugged and hugged , dropped off at one granny's to be taken back home and fed again at the others!

She's been spoken too and she's fine! So I too am fine

    Now off to work !

    Have a good night x

    1. It's the end of term, yippee!!

    2. Had a lovely day out with DD today, just mooching around a town near us that we don't visit very often :)

    3. Have been out on the school Christmas do tonight; sat with lovely people, ate scrummy food and helped out 3 friends by dropping them home on my way back.

    4. Have taken out some books from the library for next term's topic :) We were very excited to find that the library in the visiting town was open til 4:30 on a Saturday! Our more local ones close at 1pm :(

    5. I actually like a couple of photos that were taken of me tonight, and hope that I'll be sent a copy of them. It's so rare for me not to want to rip up/delete photos, as I'm so self-critical!

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in! Sons got up at 10 rather than having to get up at our usual time.

    2) We're on holiday!

    3) Had lunch at Sainsburys.

    4) Sons went swimming with my sister, brother in law and niece.

    5) I had my hair cut while everyone was swimming then had a cup of hot chocolate in the caf! at the pool and watched them and niece (nearly a year old) waved to me constantly. :-)

    6) Smaller son went with his friend to watch Star Wars.

    7) I tried to clear the fridge of surplus fruit and veg. Made Jamie Oliver's veg chilli (in 2 large pans) so have enough for 4 meals of 3 portions in the freezer now. Used the Worcs pears by poaching them then bigger son had them for pudding. Used up some cooking apples by baking them with mincemeat.

    8) Watched Casualty and have finally caught up properly with Holby City.

Some sad news today that my cousin has died. Very unexpected but he died in his sleep, a few weeks after his 50th birthday party. He was born with quite severe learning difficulties but managed all sorts of things - he had a job, learned to drive and carried on living at home after his parents died. My sons had no idea he had any problems - turns out they just thought he was a particularly jolly adult!

    Sorry for your loss, Frith
Kittikins - I feel your pain, i hate pretty much all photos of me. My latest rail pass is a doozy
Hello Hayleypoppins - do we know your sister Mary :rotfl:

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Trip to London. Train manager going down was a laugh - "there is a balloon in the overhead wires. it is delaying us. We don't know where the balloon has come from". I guess you had to be there, but was a bit like a speech from Cabin Pressure
    2. Nice walk through a strangley quiet london to the theatre. Did avoid Oxford St though
    3. Kinky Boots was absolutely marvellous. Fantastic singing (Killian Donnelly for any officionados) and staging, and story and everything.
    4. DD and i decided not to stay and get dinner in London but could catch a train that got us back for 8.00pm
5 Which meant that we could order curry for dinner. :T

    Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
